Today at 3:45 pm the Withlacoochee meter reader ripped out our meter and turned off the electric without notifying us. Apparently the lug nuts were melting and he thought it was a fire hazard. We were scrambling to find an electrician at 4pm on a Friday afternoon. I got McWilliams & Son, Inc from Yelp and called in a panic. They had someone at my house within 30 minutes and the problem fixed within 10 minutes. Anthony was respectful, professional and quick to take care of our emergency. Can not say enough about this company and how quickly they responded to my call. Will be using them from now on for any electrical issues that I may have in the future.... Thanks Anthony! read more

I was having problems with the electrical sytem between the thermostat and my unit....the problem was quickly diagnosed. The work required two technicians to coordinate the solution. I didn't realize the skill needed to accomplish this. Both technicians were professional, and knowledgeable . Price was reasonable. Don't use this company! Had an AC leak. Their guy couldn't find it in an hour, added 2 pounds of refrigerant, charge me to $275 & left. Someone else came out a week later. Found the leak in 15 minutes. By that time the 2 pounds of refrigerant had leaked out. They would have charged me $140 for the same work. Complained to the owner about the overcharge and leaving me unrepaired. Gave me a song-and-dance and no refund. Total rip off! read more

McWilliams and Son was great to work with. Gil was very professional and their prices are very reasonable. Gil was very knowledgeable and such a nice guy. They replaced our entire unit and duct work. I was so impressed with how well they did all our duct work in such a short attic with this dead heat. Everything was installed perfect the first time and been working great ever since. They even moved our unit so we would stop having issues with water pooling up during the summer rains. Will use McWilliams for all my HVAC needs. read more

Terrible customer service for me I used them on advise from my nieghbor they installed A Goodman 3.5 ton not a overly high price but was told by Gill they are pretty good units Hence my rental dwelling A/C needed to be replaced called Gill when I asked how come your not using a Goodman (Grandaire) He told me they have a defect I said why would you install that at my home he replied that it is warranteed, Ok great then he went on to tell it will still cost $800 plus inferior metal can't handle the pressure Ok it done and over and no issues 6 months later my home A/C dont work Gill sends a tech and he determines it's my inside unit that Gill discussed with me and told me I have to wait 10 days to get the part due to covid ,Ok I buy a portable so I can work from home $700 barley cools the room .I find out one of my neighbors has an A/C company and called his supplier in Clearwater who has the part ,we call Gill he says in order to get credit for the part he has to get the part from the manufacturer ,Ok no problem 10 days later the tech shows up with part and another tech after a while go ck on them and the tech has his head down says I"F" up it is only a small leak out by the condensing unit. Wow 10 days of 95 degrees and 80 percent humidity this tech did not know what he was doing ,so I leave for a meeting come home to find out from my wife that she paid $400 why we had to pay $400 I call McWilliams no response they can ck my phone records Gill or McWilliams never returned my call Now the new A/C at my rental dwelling stopped working I called McWilliams a little while later a tech called said it would be $150 I was upset and told him to please have Gill call that maybe he could work something out becuse of what happened that I was charged $400 Gill never called I called another company that will now service my homes that company waived the service call fee of $55 which happened to be the fan motor it cost me all but $142 for the repair that contractor now has my A/C work I since have read reviews by other dissatisfied customers only to see Gills responses that seem like he is not being truthful so if his response is anything other then he is sorry then it would be a lie I dont recommend them, no empathy or loyalties from then to me, you may have better luck who knows but this is my truthfull experience read more

I wish I could express how pleasant an experience it was to work with McWilliams & Son this week. Our upstairs unit went out; it was 12 years old and we were pretty sure we had done everything to lengthen its life in the years we've lived in our house. When you realize you have to replace part of a system, especially during a time like this, your heart sinks. But I knew McWilliams & Son would take good care of us. I was aware of their excellent reputation, and they completely lived up to it! They came out to do an estimate on Wednesday after regular hours (they've already begun their busy season), provided an incredible one-on-one consultation to discuss our options, then sent a very professional crew the very next day. The only way you could even tell they were in our house was that after we came home from work, there was a beautiful new air handler upstairs and a top-notch outside unit that also has a great reputation. I won't discuss price, but I will tell you that I had called around (friends and family) when we knew the system was starting to fail, and McWilliams & Son was the name that had the most rave reviews. They gave us a completely fair and competitive price, one I'm pretty sure could not be beat, according to locals who have had the same replacement. worse company ive ever seen bought new ac unit and duct work and its been a nightmare, the owner is a liar don't believe anything he says, I have 5yr warranty and ductwork falling apart and still hasn't repaired it always excuses, defintly use a different co. im going thru bbb right nw and next step is lawsuit.. read more
