this office is not only ghetto, but they take hours to get you seen. you spend 45 minutes in the waiting room. 20 minutes with an inexperienced young "nurse" to chart you. get in the room and wait 45 minutes to an hour for the provider. repeat everything you told the young "nurse". providers only spend 5-7 minutes in the room with you. I have often seen providers hanging out in their office twiddling their thumb. avoid this location at all costs. my kids were with mychildrens and when they sold all their patients to mdkids I figured we might as well stay because my 18 year old has been with them since birth. this will be her last visit, she could continue care until she is 19, but the level of incompetence and lack of respect for patients time is infuriatin. read more

I hate this location is receiving such negative reviews. I've taken my toddler here once and it was a great experience. We were seen on Christmas Eve, after my two year old wasn't getting better from being seen the Friday before and diagnosed with a viral infection. No tests were ran and nothing was given, aside from the advice to let it run its course. I was already using a humidifier, honey for coughs and keeping her isolated from groups and they just told me to keep doing what I was doing. Well the Monday of the following week, her symptoms continued and she started spiking a fever. Her normal pediatrician was booked and couldn't get us in that day and they were closed on Christmas Eve. I decided to take her to this location, for a second look/opinion. The male Dr who I believe is Dr. Mancia, was very informative and helpful and even though her symptoms were going on a few days, he still tested her for flu, rsv and covid and she ended up coming back positive for rsv- which completely overwhelmed me as a first time parent of a child who has only been sick twice. He provided me with a lot of advice and things to do to ensure the rsv didn't move into her chest and prescribed a breathing machine when I asked about one. I felt my concerns were listened to and taken seriously, even tho he did agree with the previous urgent care I took her too, stating no testing or medication was necessary for a viral infection. I'm especially glad she was tested and we were given a diagnosis, because had I of not known it was rsv we would of celebrated Christmas the next day with my parents and brought her around my immunocompromised father. We spent Christmas alone as a family while we waited out her contagious period and while that was sad, at least I had more information on her diagnosis and kept her away from getting others sick. I appreciate Dr. Mancia and the fact that he didn't brush my concerns and emotions off, because upon hearing she was positive I did freak out a bit and he reassured me her chest sounded clear and he doesn't anticipate her getting worse. The only minor complaint I would make, was the front desk wasn't very warm at check in- but it was a cold, Christmas Eve morning and they had a lobby full immediately after opening and a lot was going on to get everyone checked in and separated. I would definitely bring my daughter back, if her pediatrician isn't available. Thank you guys so much! read more

El doctor Eduardo Mancilla me dio un formulario para que lo llenara la maestra y otro yo a lo cual ya llenos se los dejé en la oficina y el salió a recepción a decirme de manera muy mala grosera que lo que yo llene estába muy fuera de control a lo que lleno la maestra me trató como si yo estuviera haciendo algo mal con mi hijo, Me calme y continué escuchando con la evaluación que según Hizo por medio de los formularios. Que efectivamente tenía déficit de atención con hiperactividad. Me dio un papel escrito con lapicero diciendo que ese era su diagnóstico. A lo que a la siguiente visita pedí otro doctor pero al llegar ahí me lo volvieron a poner, entro al cuarto a atender a los niños y ya de manera más amable los atendió. Le pedí que le hiciera referencia al niño para un estudio en el lugar adecuado para saber si tenía esa condición. A lo que me hizo la referencia pero para otro de los niños no para el niño al cual según el había sido evaluado por el. Llame al lugar para qué corrigieran el nombre del niño a lo cual si cambiaron el nombre del niño pero la referencia era hizo para un lugar donde los niños tenían malos comportamientos. A lo que no nunca hice la cita. Hoy llevo a mi hija mayor por su chequeo anual y para pedir un chequeo de sangre para saber si tenía tiroides a lo cual cuando le dije la razón por la que pedía los estudios de sangre. Se puso tan grosero tan antiprofesional se porta tan nefasto. Juzgando dando un disque discurso tan fuera de lugar. Le dije que solo quería salir de dudas porque ya le había hecho el estudio de sangre y había salido positiva y empezó a cuestionar que donde y cosas que no tienen que ver con su trabajo. Su trabajo es atender a los pacientes y si las mamás tenemos dudas contestarlas y referir si es necesario no juzgar o querer hacer sentir mal a la mama por sus dudas o sus preocupaciones. if I could give zero stars I would. this is the worst most incapable doctors office I have ever encountered. do not bring your children here. they do not care to listen to your concerns. ive had concerns of my son being in the spectrum or having autism and adhd and I've been telling them this since he was 2. wvery office they're referred me too has either shut down or gone out of business. the one office that did stay open, Cancelled and rescheduled my sons therapy appointmenta 11 times in a row before shutting down. then they referred me to Children's health whos waiting list is over a year. He's now 6 and should be in first grade and is not where he should be academically or developmentally because of their negligence. they agreed to do a ADHD evaluation for him which day decided was "inconclusive" because I mentioned that he has blank stares and his teacher didn't notice alarming behavior (she filled out the paperwork at The beginning of the school year, she did not even know him, as they just met) . They said the blank stares were epilepsy. My son does not have epilepsy, but I went along with it, took him to the epilepsy center. And they confirmed he does not have epilepsy, blank stairs or normal even eye as an adult have blink stares every now and again. Sometimes you just zone out. He's now in kindergarten because his school said he was not ready for first grade, which he is not because he hasn't been receiving care. They did an evaluation on him And came to the conclusion. He is nine in the 99 percentile for ADHD. His teacher obviously has now noticed his delays and areas for concern... my son can be very high functioning and neurotypical passing at times, but his delays are noticeable when you have actually spent time around him. They are alarmingly noticeable. I provided them with the very thorough evaluation done by the school and asked them to reconsider / reevaluate.... To which DR MANCIA did not listen once again. Mind you of all the people he's referred me to all the therapists who have worked with him , his school, and LITERALLY EVERYONE ELSE can see his noticeable defecits. This man who has never spent more than 5 minutes with him or even actually tried to interact with him is saying he's fine. Hes 6 and his vocabulary is still under 200 words. He can not focus. He's hyperactive , he doesn't sleep, even when given melatonins. I could go on and on and on. this doctors office is terrible. Dr mencia does not listen nor care. This is the worst experience ever I should t have to beg for my baby to get help... he could've been way further along by now had he been receiving proper care and treatment since he was 2. This has got to be the worst doctor office ever. I've never had any problems when it was children's health. I should have believed the reviews. I got a call to schedule an appointment. I scheduled the appointment asked the staff to fax me the paperwork so I can fill it out before I got there. Never received the fax. Thank goodness it was online. Got to my kids appointment a little early and still had to wait over an hour after the set appointment time before they called us back. The MA in the front told me it's because I needed to change the PCP before they called them back. After the appointment I asked for my kids shot records for school but because they changed names I had to pay $5 per shot records. Today I got a call that I couldn't get my daughter's speech papers filled out because MD kids told them she has to be seen so the Dr can fill the papers out but she was just seen 2 weeks ago. I called MD kids they told me she's not in there system come to find out they had her name in the system wrong. My kids will never go to MD kids again. I rather take them to a Dr office 30 mins away before they go here again. It was the worst experience I ever had with a dr office. read more

This place use to be under a different name. Now they have changed the name to something else. The staff are slow we waited over two hours to be seen. And they explained to me it would be another two hours before I could speak to a manager. If you don't mind waiting all day for your child to be seen then this is the perfect place to go! They're also unprofessional and have a million grasshoppers outside and in the rooms where the kids are seen. We're scared of bugs so they weren't very pleasant to be around the whole time. I called this facility 3 weeks in advance as we had moved and my girls previous pediatrician was an hour away so we needed to find a new one. I provided our insurance and we were given an appt on Mar-18-2021 for a wellness check for 3yo and 1yo. I called on day of appt as my youngest daughter started having respiratory symptoms, they said we could come in at regular time and check-in and be seen for wellness check and sick visit. We get there, check in, come to find out they had not even contacted the previous pediatrician to get their information. We wait for 30 minutes, finally walking out as we were going to wait in the car. They then tell me that they cannot see my youngest for a sick visit because she is on my private insurance (Cigna) and also appears to be covered under her mother's Medicaid which is out of a different county. Could have saved us and yourself 3 weeks worth of time and a lot of frustration by doing due diligence and making sure insurance is verified before hand. Do not recommend this pediatric facility at all. Save yourself time and headaches by finding another Dr. read more

I have a Autistic child & two other's children an their PCP is Dr. Eduardo Mancia, his very warm an welcoming but in my opinion he's very short an sometimes I feel they need a little more in depth care especially my autistic child & my youngest(under the age of 2). Now to the staff....there's ALWAYS a issue with paperwork I need filled out that I've faxed over the 3 to 5 business days they say it should take! At this very moment it's been about over two weeks I've been waiting for my son's incontinence supplies paperwork, no call or anything & when I call I stay on hold call back and I'm told as ALWAYS "well we're under staff at the moment, can you please hold of call us back later today!! Ever since this clinic transitioned into MD Kids (used to be a Children's Health clinic) I've been very disappointed. The medical assistants act like they want nothing to do with you (more concerned with their cell phones), the waiting room/exam room is disgustingly dirty and the physicians seem like they want to slap a bandaid on everything and call it a day. I had an appointment about a week ago for my daughter. The front desk staff, medical assistants, and office manager were the most professional and caring people in there. The NP was the worst I have ever experienced. Christine Varela the nurse practitioner left the door open while attempting to discuss my daughter's reason for being there: HIPPA VIOLATION! 2: She did not do any type of patient education to a 17 year old. 3: She did not wash/sanitize her hands when listening to my daughters heart sounds in front of the patient: INFECTION PREVENTION!. There is no continuity of care at this facility. Every time we go there is a different provider. The turn over rate is insane. I hear Dr. Mancia is awesome however my daughter wanted a female provider. This place has potential minus the NP!!! read more

This was an awesome place my daughter loved coming here to see her doctor (Heather Dunlap) she always was helpful and keeping my daughters asthma under control. But she is no longer there because this practice went from children's to MD pediatrics so I no longer go here. We were sad to see Dr.Dunlap leave. She was no longer in the network. Other than that before this became another practice children's was a good place. I would suggest avoiding this practice like the plague. The staff is incompetent. The pediatrician, Heather Dunlap, is horrendous. They do not believe in parental rights and after one visit they believe they know your child better than you. They are absolutely willing to lie to cps, reject your proof of previous doctor care(that is not within the Cooks network...if you're in the Cooks network, then you've apparently been seeing real doctors). They asked me to break the law by going outside the Medicaid network because they refused to fill a prescription that my son has been taking since he was a baby(he's now almost 12). (I did not sign up my children in the Medicaid network, my ex did. He has also refuses to add me as a guardian so I can't change doctors...yes, I am the custodial parent). This doctor is more interested in playing family court, where hearsay and no proof is accepted, than to play doctor and adequately treat children. She also deemed it to be good judgement to give a child a hearing test while also feeling it was needed that he take a 30 day prescription for allergies. read more

This Cedar Hill location is horrible. Staff doesn't seem to know where anything is. Had to call multiple times to leave messages but never called us back. When going in person, they didn't know where my kids medical records were and couldn't locate them. The next time, they said that they were never scanned in. Would not recommend. So my daughters doctor is currently on maternity leave and because of such I was told I would need to schedule an appointment with another doctor just to get a refill on a prescription that she has been taking for over a year. Mind you I already did my 3 month follow up last month which my doctor already said was the only requirement for refills; at this time she has gone 4 days without her prescription. None of this make sense to me, but this is what I was advised in order to get her medicine. I totally understand getting a little behind but my appointment was at 2:15 which I was here 15 minutes early like you should be to your appointment and it's 3:15 and I'm still waiting. I visited the Uptown MD Kids Pediatrics today, July 9, 2018 and had the worst experience. They were unprofessional, my child missed school, rude staff along with their support ROD team. I wasted one hour talking with Jeff who didn't resolve or help the saturation. He did admit they were WRONG! I completed all the necessary paperwork before time, arrived before time, confirmed the appointment days in advance and then was told they could not see my child because I had to change the doctor's name on the insurance card. Really! My older daughter was seen last week with the same doctor's name on the card without any problems. The insurance should have been confirmed before I arrived; I should have been contacted of any changes before the appointment. Again, extremely disappointed in their service and I will never visit that clinic again. read more
