I drove him to the Care Spot that's 5 minutes from my home. We arrived at 7:51pm and they close at 8pm. Even though it was late they still saw us and provided very kind service. I was especially impressed with the attentive care of the nurse and doctor in the back. They were so kind and caring and I really appreciated it. He ended up having Strep throat and they recommended we get the meds from a 24 hour pharmacy that wasn't too far away. Everything went smoothly and overall I would definitely go back there whenever one of us gets sick again. We were out of there within 35 minutes.

After convincing them crutches weren't a safe option since I broke my ankle standing up, they offered me an ankle support brace. Two nurses tried to put it on and even the doctor came to help. It didn't feel right after and I referenced the instructions pamphlet that was laying on the bed numerous times before I was taken seriously. Turns out after the doctor read it, the boot was on upside down. Finally it was fixed. Then I was discharged with paperwork and anti inflammatory medication. This is where they lose stars- I then was told I was good to go and leave. I had no assistance with a broken ankle. My foot was bare and I had to hobble to my car. I made it to the exit door which I was opening when the kind woman at the desk asked if I needed a wheelchair. At that point I had already made it and my car was right there so I declined and quite frankly was tired, in pain, and over it. Walking on the floor of urgent care barefoot was very unsanitary. I get I was the last patient of the day but they were still open so the quality of care and attention to detail shouldn't have diminished. Also, I overhead the nurses talking about the grossest things they'd seen while working. I'll spare you those stories.

Other than the waiting though, the nurses/doctors I've dealt with have all been nice. My last visit which was very recent, I had to get sutures. When I got there, I didn't have to wait which to me was a surprise. Everything was great, they were quick in getting to my situation and again everyone was friendly. I was told to do a follow up check before getting the sutures off but I didn't go because I didn't want to pay another copay just so they can tell me it's fine and healing. Before coming to this hospital in person for a PET Scan, I first scheduled an appointment through…read morethe imaging department. This hospital is located in Altamonte Springs, FL, which is a 54 minute drive from my house. When I left to go to this appointment on July 16th, 2026, I was not aware that this was an appointment that I needed to fast for. I'm certain that they must have told me that I needed to fast for appointment when they initially called me for scheduling, but I just didn't remember. I do remembered them telling me that the PET Scan would take 90 minutes to complete, but I did not remember them telling me anything about needing to fast for PET Scan. I was using a driving service to take me to this appointment, and when we arrived at this hospital, we were several hours early. We decided to get something to eat while we were waiting. My driver is a friend of mine by now, because we've already taken so many trips together since we first met, around February of 2026, and she even double checked with me to see if I needed to be fasting for this PET Scan. I looked at my notes, and I couldn't find anything that indicated I needed to be fasting. In hindsight, I should have called the Imaging department at the hospital and asked them if I needed to fast, just to be certain that I didn't need to be fasting. We ended up going to a great local restaurant, and we had a delicious lunch. We ate our lunch quickly, and then headed back to AdventHealth hospital. Upon entering the hospital I headed to the right where I saw a desk area with staff working behind it. I was immediately greeted by two of the staff members behind the desk. I gave them my name, and I told them that I was here for a PET Scan. They checked their computer system, and then they directed me to a check in window, at the left hand side of the hospital lobby. After I arrived at the window, I was greeted by a friendly gentleman staff member, who checked me in, gave me a hospital wrist band, and then directed me over to the waiting area for the imaging department of the hospital, which was just ahead of his window. I had just enough time to snap some pictures of this breathtakingly beautiful AdventHealth hospital. Once I was finished, I sat down in a seat near a tall window with a view of a reflecting pool, and a nearby water fountain that was located outside of the building, near the outside seating area. Once I sat down, a few moments passed before staff member named Stephanie called my name. I walked over to her and greeted her. Right away Stephanie asked me if I was fasting, and I told her that I just had lunch. She said that unfortunately I need to be fasting for at least 4 hours before having a PET scan, and so she said that we could go to the back and she would help me reschedule my appointment. After we went to the back, Stephanie had me take a seat and she left momentarily to go make a list of potential days and times, so that we could reschedule my appointment. I called my driver to find a day and time that worked for her, and we were able to schedule a new appointment. Stephanie then escorted me out to the lobby of the gorgeous hospital. Stephanie was a very kind and understanding staff member, and she treated me so well. Despite not being able to get my PET Scan, I had a great experience, from the time that I walked into the hospital, to the point that I left the hospital.

And then, if you call them out for not really being a walk in clinic you get a nasty response of, "well I guess that's your definition of a walk in clinic." Really?!? Just to remind all of you folks out there a walk in clinic is first come first served with zero appointments needed! This isn't MY definition of what a walk in clinic is, it's simply the actual definition! If these people feel that they can give alternative definitions of what a walk in clinic is then you had better be assured that their intent isn't giving you a true definition of what medical treatment is either! We have a serious problem in this country with a shortage of good doctors, a shortage of availability for appointment and sadly no shortage of people who look at this failure of our medical system as an opportunity for a quick money grab. I simply needed blood work and new scripts for medicine I've been taking for over a decade. Something that shouldn't take more than 5 minutes. What I got was come back tomorrow so we can grind you through our corporate system and you will simply have to operate within our system and meet our companies needs with zero consideration for what The patient needed at that moment! Despicable. Luckily I found an actual walk in clinic just two blocks over. They got me in, wrote me the script for blood work and were very apologetic shot their colleagues at this clinic. Think about it, the other clinic apologized for YOUR CLINIC'S complete and utter lack of empathy, flexibility and professionalism! It's amazing what a little empathy can do for you. Something in very short supply here! Do yourself the favor and go the two blocks over. The staff there is super friendly, helpful and affordable. Whether or not you have insurance, the other walk in clinic will do what they can to make sure you get the treatment you need without the hassle of the corporate mentality of what you can afford! And if you have good insurance the other walk in clinic, the actual walk in clinic, will give you the Gold Star treatment!
