I have had a very good experience with Dr Khilnani. She is patient and listens to all the questions and concerns carefully. I was never rushed in my appointments and have received proper guidance. She delivered my baby boy and it was a C-section and she gave a beautiful incision. It's not much visible after 10 months. She is my primary care do the now and I don't hesitate reaching out to her regarding the non-OB gyn questions also. I would highly recommend her. read more

I don't know about you but I rarely look forward to going in for a doctor's appointment. This is not the case with Dr. Khilnani. I moved to the Bay Area a year ago and poked around yelp and based on the reviews decided to visit Dr. Khilnani for an annual exam. Dr. Khilnani and her kind team made me change my opinion about doctor's appointments and honestly made me want to really be aware of my health and be proactive about going in for regular check ups. Dr. Khilnani was friendly, calming, and very informative. I particularly appreciated her approach to addressing my healthcare concerns at the time, suggesting that I give my body time to adapt to the move, new job, etc for a few months before I jumped to pharmaceutical answers based on the details of my small concerns. And lo and behold, my "problems" disappeared, in the month thereafter :) I would wholeheartedly recommend a visit to Dr. Khilnani's office. Dr. Khilnani delivered my first baby and my husband and I could not have asked for a better guide in the experience. As first time parents, we had a lot of silly questions, which Dr. Khilnani answered with care and consideration. Dr. Khilnani is extremely knowledgeable in all of the latest research. I wish I could give her more thn 5 stars coz she is AWESOME.. Well..!!! What do I say about Dr Khilnani. She is simply the best OB GYN I have ever met. I had a pretty smooth pregnancy with just nausea during my first trimester. Fast forward to my delivery- this was my first delivery and I have heard doctors here in the US just come at the very end when you are ready to push the baby out but Dr Khilnani stood by my side throughout the process. I was in Active labor and was having fever while pushing for over 8hrs but Dr Khilnani was so calm and supportive. She had given me the option of opting for a C section only if I wanted to(no pressure from either her or the nurses). Finally after 8 long hours I gave up and we went ahead for the C section. The complications didn't end here. My son had swallowed meconium during the labor, had pneumonia and was having difficulty breathing so they kept him in NICU. Dr Khilnani was there to see him everyday. She used to come visit me first and then go to meet him. She was there by my side all through and we developed such a special bond with her that it just goes beyond what words can express. My experience with Dr. Khilnani has been amazing. She is a doctor I can trust to be an advocate for me, and while I was pregnant, for my unborn babies (I had twins).  When I moved to the Bay Area I knew I needed to find a good OBGYN. I did a ton of research and I'm so glad I found Dr. Khilnani 5 years ago. I'll never forget my first appointment, I had an IUD insertion by another office 1 week earlier and it was very painful for me. I had Dr. Khilnani remove it, she was so gentle and kept me calm by telling me what she was doing. I was terrified of the potential pain, but she made the whole experience painless. She has always been precise and gentle in her work as well as easy to talk to about any female problems I was  experiencing.  When I found out I was pregnant her office was the first person/ place I called. Natalie had me come in immediately to confirm my at home test and I immediately felt like I was with family. Natalie and Dr. Khilnani were so excited for me and made the moment feel so special.  Throughout my pregnancy I discovered just how cautious Dr. Khilnani was. I have many friends with kids and when we compared our experiences with our OB's I realized just how lucky I was to have Dr. Khilnani in my corner. She saw me very regularly and was proactive in her treatment. I had other friends tell me I needed to see a high risk OBGYN- a perinatologist, since I was pregnant with twins but Dr. Khilnani is incredibly skilled! I did see a specialist for some things like my NST and near the end of my pregnancy just to monitor the babies sizes but truly Dr khilnani's expertise and guidance led me to have two beautiful and incredibly healthy babies. I can't recommend Dr. Khilnani enough, especially if you're pregnant with twins. She gave me prescription vitamins rather then telling me to just use any prenatal, she added additional supplements as needed and put me on maternity leave early when she saw the toll my pregnancy was taking on me physically. She always made me feel confident that I was doing well and didn't negatively judge me when I felt like I put on too much weight. In the end my girls were born via c-section at 36 weeks and 4 days on the recommendation of the specialist I also saw near the end of my pregnancy. A lot of twin pregnancies come at or before 35 weeks and I honestly believe that I could have made it to week 38 (which is term for twins) if the specialist hadn't recommended my girls be born sooner. None the less, because I was diligent in following what Dr. Khilnani told me to do my girls were born weighing 5lbs 6oz which is really amazing for my gestional age, it's also amazing that they weighed exactly the same amount. Even more amazing- they needed no NICU time and had perfect APGAR scores as well as no jaundice. My girls are a picture of health, and I owe that to Dr. Khilnani. You seriously are making the best decision for yourself and your future children by seeing her. Whatever my feminine needs are I feel like I can truly trust Dr. Khilnani to guide me best and care for me best. Also, I really loved that she and Natalie always welcomed my husband to be at my appointments. First things first, if I had a choice I would have given her a negative rating but unfortunately the lowest rating you can give is this! Dr. Khilnani never, I repeat she's never on time. The minimum amount of time that you would have to wait would be more than 1 hour! During the course of my pregnancy she was my Doctor for the first 2 trimesters. I once had an appointment at 11am and she takes me in at 2.30pm! Yes, that's right 2.30pm that is 3.5 hours late!! She would do unnecessary Ultrasounds, even when it is not required. She had done 4 Ultrasounds in my first trimester itself whereas I had read online that only 3-4 ultrasounds are needed throughout the pregnancy. During one of the ultrasounds she diagnosed me with an ovarian cyst. She said that nothing has to be done with the cyst and pregnancy is normal and healthy. She charged me separately for this whereas I had went in for a routine prenatal check up. During one of my visits we discussed about constipation as its very common to be constipated in first trimester. She charged me for that as well, whereas all this was a part of the prenatal check up. She showed those 2 problems as a part of my office visit and not prenatal visit for which I had to pay her 100$ separately. When I argued with her billing department on this issue , they said that since she didn't deliver my baby they can show all my prenatal visits as my office visits and make me pay for all my visits! After a lot of argument and delay I ended up paying those 100$. Trust me if you want to save your time and money, do not go to her ! I would not recommend going to her . The doctors office is nicely designed but very small so when moving around other people it can be awkward. I was seen on time or least I don't remember waiting very long and I'm very impatient so that's saying something ha. Dr. Rubi Khilnani herself was ok, I had came to the office to discuss the possibilities of why I hadn't convinced yet. I am young (22yrs old, TTC for over 2yrs) so I do understand her reaction but the way she made me feel was as if I was just making stuff and that the idea of something being wrong was ridiculous. She made me uncomfortable with remarks "if your husband can't get you pregnant just by looking at you!" I am a thick skinned person but in this visit I was seeking compassion and help. Billing wasn't has smooth as I would like either, I filled out all my information on my insurance in office and got sent a bill for $360! For her basically making me feel stupid for even coming and talking to me for all of 15mins. I had to contact my insurance and go through a few 30min calls to reduce my obligation to my regular co pay of $50 read more

I have to say I have never met the dr . The first time I had an appointment , the office told me they forgot to call me and tell me she had an emergency at the hospital( you forget, I paid the baby sitter to come and watch my son ) Second , she gave me lots of paper to fill in and she said she will call me back to make an appointment . No call back , then I called and she said your insurance have share of cost and she asked me if I know it , I said yes and I told her the insurance got my confirmation and they will change it to fully coverage . Then she said ok , then I will check it and call you back , I said fine . After a week , no call back, I called her and she said she disregard all the papers I gave her and the forms because she thought I still have share of cost , and she just mentioned dr doesn't accept share of cost . Well , you had to tell me the first day and since June 4th I have fully coverage . She said if I want I could go back and fill all the papers again and she could make an appointment for me . I said no thank you. I don't think if I can trust this office any more . read more

Dr. K is a skilled surgeon. During my hospital stay after my c-section, nurses and other medical staff were coming into my room to "ooo and aah" over my incision. She delivered my second baby six months ago, and the scar from Dr. K is less noticeable than the scar from my 3-year-old. She repaired a hole left in some tissue during my first (emergency) c section. I didn't know that this damage existed, but it explains why I experienced far less pain after my surgery with Dr. K than I did with my first child. Well, that and an excellent post-op pain management plan. Dr. K is a lovely person who lives and breathes for her practice. She works to give the best care available. After a rough first pregnancy and an even worse first delivery, she put me at ease, cared for me well, and delivered me a perfect baby girl. read more

Dr. Rubi Khilnani is the best doctor I have ever seen. Not only is she a very good MD, she has an amazing bedside manner. She is one of those once in a lifetime doctors that you are REALLY glad went to medical school :-) I am pregnant with my second baby, and I switched from Dr. Hoff (also in Redwood City) to Dr. Khilnani right before I conceived this time. Dr. Khilnani is amazing- seeing her is like seeing a good friend. She treats her patients with the ultimate TLC and totally goes above and beyond the call of duty. For example, even though I have a totally low-risk, normal pregnancy, she saw me every 1-2 weeks during the first trimester, just to reassure me that the baby is fine. She has also given me an ultrasound at every visit because she understands that pregnant moms need to see their babies and may go through withdrawl symptoms otherwise :-) (Most Ob/gyns only see you once a month, and only do 1 ultrasound at the first visit. ) She shares an office with Dr. Jan Rydfors, who is also awesome, though much harder to get an appointment with. Their office is brand new, and very tastefully furnished. The office staff is amazing, especially Lupe the receptionist. Everyone is super friendly and on the ball. Highly recommend Dr. Khilnani. read more

Dr. Khilnani has been my obgyn for about 9 months now. I started seeing her when I was 8 weeks pregnant. I found her to be very knowledgeable and skillful, she made my birthing experience as smooth as it could be given my condition. When I was about 23 weeks pregnant, I had a pre-term labor scare (strong contractions every 2 mins, at this point I did not know what contractions should feel like as this was my first baby). This was over a weekend (Saturday) and we called her emergency number at 10:30PM. We went to the hospital (labor and delivery) immediately and she managed the whole situation very well. She closely monitored the situation till 02:00AM and sent us home once I was stable. She saved my baby and managed the situation very well after this. I ended up delivering at 39 weeks 3 days, which is full term. She is one of the few doctors who does her best to be there during the delivery rather than leave it to the doctor on call at the hospital. She delivered my baby and made the whole process as smooth as possible for me. My water broke and labor lasted for about 32 hours and she visited me multiple times at the hospital during this time. Its easy to tell that she has a lot of experience and skill from the way she speeded up the delivery process with good positioning and pushing techniques. She does encourage more visits and ultrasounds to make sure everything is on track. I like this aspect about her and am glad she does it this way. If insurance and copay are an issue for this, its ofcourse your choice and you can let her know that you do not want any additional monitoring. read more

Pregnancy is a time in your life when you want to be surrounded with positive and caring people, your Friends and it helps a lot if your OBGYN fits that description. Last Aug, I got pregnant with twins after trying for a year and a half and a miscarriage. Naturally, I was a bit apprehensive during my pregnancy, with it being high risk and all. I am so so glad that I had Dr Khilnani as my OBGYN. Not only is she an excellent physician, she is an amazingly caring person too. She would patiently answer my (numerous) questions in person or through emails (which, she is very prompt in replying to). Being pregnant with twins, I had gestational hypertension. Dr K detected this very early on and managed my condition very well. She would always tell me not to worry about anything and that it was her job to worry about me :). She really had been on top of things when it came to taking care of me, be it my health, my babies, my diet or my concerns. I am a mother of 5 month old healthy twin girls and am really enjoying motherhood. I am really glad that I had Dr K as my OBGYN during my pregnancy and now have her as my GP. I have been staying with Dr Khilnani for about 8 years for her wonderful care. She is not only my OB, she is also my primary care doctor. Dr K is a truly amazing and very knowledgeable doctor. I have trust issues when finding a doctor who will care for you at the personal level; and Dr K always gives me that! This is my updated review since Dr K delivered by first son. Dr K delivered my second baby just a month ago. I can't thank her enough for making sure my high risk pregnancy went very smoothly and delivery went beautifully. I had cholestasis of pregnancy very early into my pregnancies and then also had gestational diabetes. Dr K diagnosed me quickly and monitored my high risk pregnancy issues closely. What I love about her is that she always informs me and my husband on what to expect ahead of time -- everything is explained in detail in words that we understand, and not in complicated medical terms that you have to google. Due to cultural and family traditional practice, we had to pick my delivery date and time. I know it is hard to explain the request, but Dr K tried her very best to accommodate our request and succeeded! Our son was born during one of the auspicious times that was medically appropriate:). I can't thank Dr K, and her staff, enough for the excellent care throughout the years. If you are looking for a doctor to expertly care for your pregnancy and health like your family, Dr K is the one you should go to. Highly recommended and loved!! read more

Please save yourself, your husband and your baby a whole lot of trouble by going to another OB. I am no psychiatrist but I think she has a Narcissistic Personality Disorder and should get herself treated for it. Always late for appointments, worst bed side manners, her office staff are petrified of her, even the nurses in the hospital dislike her. She is a good surgeon, but is 9 months of torture worth it? I had preeclampsia and my son was in the NICU. We both survived. Please be careful, choose another OB. read more

The first and most important thing to know about Dr. Khilnani is that she keeps your baby safe. I didn't have an easy pregnancy and Dr. Khilnani solved all problems and kept me and my baby safe. She did all this with compassion, caring, and expertise that blows every other OBGYN I have ever visited out of the water. I also met Dr. Rydfors who is excellent and all the support staff, especially Lupe, is terrific. I see another reviewer switched from Dr. Hoff to Dr. Khilnani - same here. Whereas in Dr. Hoff's office I got maybe 10 minutes of his time even though I had some serious complications, Dr. Khilnani always took as much time as needed to answer my questions, do a thorough exam and provide her guidance. I have had only great experiences with Dr. K. She is in touch with her patients' needs, she never rushes you, she has phenomenal bed-side manners and she is more like your friend at times than your doctor. I started to see her about a year ago. Prior to that, I had only been with Kaiser. My friends told me about her when I expressed the fact that I wanted to start having kids. They raved about her so I had to see for myself. I was overall happy with Kaiser, or so I thought. The day I met Dr. K for a consultation, I knew right away she had to be my doctor. I switched out of Kaiser, joined a PPO, started paying double the premium, just so that I could see Dr. K. That is how much faith I had in her. I had no problems getting pregnant after Dr. K worked with my medical needs. It was seriously like magic. I can see why she is very good at what she does. I don't feel comfortable with anyone else except Dr. K to deliver my children. I don't understand the negative comments being expressed about her. I have seen Dr. K first thing in the morning after she delivered a baby the night before, I have seen her when she has had a long day at work and I have seen her when it is clear she has had a great night of sleep. I have NEVER experienced a "crazy' lady during any of those times, only someone who loves what she does and who loves her patients. I have recommended Dr. K already to many friends and will continue to do so. read more

Rubi Khilnani, MD has changed my life in ways I never could imagine. She proved that there can be an "End to Endo" (Endometriosis). Yes, there are be other options than having a hysterectomy , such as laser treatment via laparoscopy. If you are looking for a physician to work with you, give you options other than a script from a medical book & be a compassionate caregiver, I highly recommend Khilnani. Here's my tale of woe: For over 15 years I endured 2-3 weeks out of the month in pain. Thanks to being correctly diagnosed & under the Dr's treatment for the past 5 months, I am finally free of this dismal existence for the 1st time. After going through over 4 Dr's that didn't properly diagnose & being told this past March that all treatment options had been exhausted. The only thing I could be offered was a complete hysterectomy. I shudder to think that if desperation kicked in I would have had the surgery by this point in time & dealing with a whole other hormone disaster in my early 40's. Can we say DISASTER? Dr. Khilnani is the only OBGYN who was able to narrow down my problem, perform the right test, and design a course of treatment for me that worked. During my treatment, she has always been available to answer questions I had & explained how the steps I was taking would achieve the goal of curing my disease. Being pain free & getting a diagnosis was something I gave up on long ago. In Feb, 2009 I had the Endo burned out with a laser via laparoscopy. No Hysto-disco for me. All went well but I still had some cramping pain. Since Dr. K is up on the latest Endo treatments, she recommended trying a Physical Therapist who specializes in treating pelvic pain. At first I was very sceptical but figured I had nothing to loose. After a few treatments I was sold. All I can say is why isn't this therapy prescribed for every women with pelvic pain? Not living in the daily hell of pain & having to function heavily medicated is almost a life I forgot about. I hope to be under Dr. K's care for ever. If it wasn't for her knowledge, patience & perseverance in treating me as an individual & not just fixing my symptoms; I would be living in a totally different body than I walk around in today. Early menopause just doesn't sound like fun, need I say anymore. read more

Dr. K took exceptional care of my high-risk pregnancy--it was managed so well by Dr. Khilnani, I sailed through my pregnancy without complications and delivered a beautiful healthy baby girl at full term! My husband and I feel so very blessed. Dr Khilnani has had her own support staff since May, 2009 and the response time is amazing--you really will be seen promptly!! Was easy to make an appointment for my wife. Parking was pretty full but manageable. Doctor was on time. Visit was very short. Doctor did not display much empathy or understanding. Quickly ordered a whole bunch of tests and ushered us out until we got those results. Didn't take the time to explain what the options were; felt rushed. When asked about billing she knew almost nothing because it is handled by some external service. Overall was disappointed given the many positive reviews on Yelp. read more

As is obvious by the other reviews, finding an OBGYN is a very personal experience, so it's not surprising that people have different opinions. All I can say is that I can't imagine going to another doctor. I live in San Francisco and drive to San Mateo for my appointments and have delivered both my children on the peninsula because I wanted Dr. K to be my doctor. I've been going to her for the last seven years and she is the reason I have two beautiful children. I had a hard time staying pregnant and went through many rounds of doctors before I found Dr. K's balance of being extremely knowledgeable and respectful of my emotions as well. Both my kids were the result of two high-risk pregnancies, yet I always felt safe in Dr. K's care. As for those that complain about Dr. K being late sometimes - here's a friendly reminder: please remember that OBGYN's deliver babies. This means their schedule can be unpredictable, and I'm fairly certain you wouldn't want Dr. K to walk out in the middle of your delivery to be on time for a pap smear! read more

Just went to see her for the first time based on the glowing reviews here. I've always gone to Kaiser so I don't know what other types of PPOs to compare her practice to, but she was very nice, funny and easy to talk to, and made me feel very comfortable. I wish I would have made her my primary physician much sooner!! She takes out time to make sure she answers all of your questions and makes sure everything is accounted for. I know it's weird but I like going to my gyno b/c i feel like she's not only a doctor, but a friend. i know firsthand, I have only had very positive experiences with dr khilinani. for example, i was having pain today and she called and talked to me for 45 minutes over the phone after hours. Im very surprised to see negative reviews since I haven't had any bad experiences. A truly amazing OB/GYN. She was there whenever I needed her and she is an excellent human being. I went to her in Feb 2011 to get pregnant, she gave me a set of medications after doing an ultra sound & that same month I got pregnant !!! Her bedside manners are wonderful. I was due in Nov 2011, I fell down in Oct and was admitted in the hospital. She came there at 2.00 am to reassure me and comfort me saying that everything has been taken care of and I would not deliver prematurely. She performed a C-section on me right around my due date and now we have our lovely baby all hale and healthy. Wanted to start off by saying Dr. Khilnani herself is good and listens to you as the patient so it is unfortunate that due to her office staff I have to leave this review. The office staff was great when Yvette was there and once she left it has gone wayyyy down hill. Twice I have gone into to receive my Depo injection and they either forgot to order it or it was "lost". Not only that but the new office staff is terrible, they continually lose things including your records and do not follow up at in the time frame they gave you. I would not recommend this office if you dont like your time wasted and to experience an extremely unorganized office staff! I write this review about doctor Khilnani because of her exceptional intervention in a critical situation I had during my second pregnancy. At 31 & 1/2 weeks in the pregnancy I fell on my abdomen, a very dangerous situation that could have ended in a C-section and a premature baby. Doctor Khilnani reacted promptly after finding what happened to me, by admitting me to the hospital and running all the necessary tests to make sure the baby is all right and I am also fine. Although I had resisted in taking initially the medication she prescribed, I am thankful that I followed her professional judgment. She explained patiently the situation to understand the possible options. I am so glad she is my obstetrician! I had contractions every three minutes, which would have ended in a Cesarean section had I not taken the medications in time. Doctor Khilnani had been in constant contact with the hospital and with me during this episode, which took more than 24 hours. Besides being a very good professional, she is very caring, open and understanding of your needs, so you feel at ease discussing any concerns or questions you might have with her. I have known doctor Khilnani for more than five years. She took care of my first pregnancy and delivery as well, which was a wonderful experience. I strongly recommend her to everybody looking for a competent doctor who is also close to her patients. If you need to wait for her in the office, that means she takes the time to take care of a patient in need, as I was or you might be. I found Dr. Khilnani through a friend's recommendation. I've been seeing her for almost 3 years. She was the key to figuring out what I needed to get and stay pregnant. She never rushes our visits; she answers all questions with detailed explanation if asked for it; she was straightforward and gentle when we experienced a loss; she encourages cautious optimism when appropriate and full-on celebration when the time comes. I've always found her to be respectful of my desires and world view and never judgmental. I describe her approach as a combination of scientific expertise and a deep understanding of emotions involved when pregnancy doesn't come quickly and easily. For me, the story is wrapping up on a high note: Dr. K was able to help me get and stay pregnant - I'm now in the 3rd trimester and have had a very healthy (and well monitored) pregnancy so far. I'm grateful and appreciative of Dr. Khilnani and absolutely recommend her to any couple who finds they need some extra help to build their family. Lastly: One reviewer mentioned pain during exams and poor billing practices: neither of those complaints hold any similarity to my experience. Dr. Khilnani is a physician practicing with attention to the patient and a sense of dedication to her work that you rarely find these days! I switched OBs because during my first pregnancy I felt like a number dealing with impersonal office staff and a variety of physicians sharing responsibilities within a medical group. At Dr. K's office I always get phone messages returned promptly, have a great relationship with Yvette the nurse and person staffing the administrative side of things, and feel attended to with a beautiful, hopeful approach to pregnancy and birth. Dr. K doesn't accelerate any worries I have, but she is also very attentive and thorough in her exams and recommendations. After my move to the Peninsula, I was in search of an experienced and reliable OB/GYN. After searching high and low, and reading a million reviews, I settled on Dr. Khilnani. Let me start off by saying that my personality is not the easy-going, go-with-the-flow kind of girl. I'm type A+++ and have extremely high expectations when it comes to anything. But after developing a relationship with Dr. Khilnani, she has surpassed all my expectations and I can't thank her enough. When my husband and I finally decided to start a family, I went in to see Dr. Khilnani. She knew we were serious and put me on a very specific plan for me. She gave me a step-by-step overview of how to maximize my chances of getting pregnant. Lo and behold, I got pregnant fairly quickly. From there, as a first-time, worrisome mother, there were several occasions when I thought there might be something wrong during my first trimester. Not knowing what to expect and not knowing how I should feel, made the first trimester super nerve racking. I paged Doctor Khilnani over the weekend and she gave me advice on what she wanted me to do. She also squeezed me in first thing on Monday to do an ad hoc ultrasound to make sure everything was ok. With my raging hormones, crying in her office, Dr. Khilnani was able to calm me down and reassure me that everything was going to be ok. Her bedside manner is one that I respect - no bullshit/straight shooter but still comforting and empathetic. Dr. Khilnani is experienced and knowledgeable and I not only trust her with myself but trust her with my soon to be family. I would recommend her to all! read more

Dr Khilnani has been my OBGYN through both my pregnancies. I trust her completely especially since I had slightly complicated pregnancies both times. She has an easy going attitude, listens to your concerns and really cares about her patients. She is always available to talk to, easy to get appts with and reacts quickly to changes to one's medical needs thus reducing stress and getting excellent results. I have recommended friends to her over the years who have also been extremely satisfied with Dr Khilnani's care. I would recommend Dr. Khilnani to anyone in a heartbeat. Not only is she fabulous from head to toe (always in perfect hair and 5 inch platforms), but her pre-natal care and delivery was amazing. Thanks to her, I had the healthiest and easiest pregnancy (as much as a pregnancy can be "easy") and more importantly, thanks to her caring, calm, and magical touch, the easiest labor and delivery I could have ever imagined. I would even go as far as to say that Dr. Khilnani just may be the pregnancy & delivery whisperer! Thankfully she specializes in women's care. I was so satisfied with how she helped me grow my perfect little baby boy, I will definitely continue seeing her as my general practitioner. My daughter is 4 and a half months old, so this review is 4 and a half months late. I had to switch insurances while I was 24 weeks pregnant which caused me to get a new doctor. Dr. K welcomed me with open arms. She was much more hands on than my previous doctor and I appreciated that. The dr before never told me I was anemic and that my due date was pushed up a week! I love her staff and that she delivers all the babies( the prior office had 6 doctors and whoever was on fall delivered) I delivered my heathy baby girl at sequoia with Dr. K guiding the way! My wife has been seeing Dr. Khilnani for 4+ years and loves her. During my wife's pregnancy I went to almost every appointment and I can see why: Dr K developed a personal relationship with us, provided sound medical advice specific to our goals/needs and made us 100% comfortable in what can be a nerve-racking experience. Dr. Khilnani is the best doctor I ever had. I am extremely picky to choose the Drs I go. I had changed Urologist 4 times, and I had also been in two OBs before her. Dr. Khilnani is just the most knowledgeable doctor I know (yes, I know a lot!!). I have always UTIs and she resolves the problem faster than my Urologist. She knows what she is doing in every step. I have been seen her at least 4 years now, I was pregnant last year, and thanks to all her care, my baby was born healthy. I had contractions much earlier, and because she knows that babies should not born earlier, she treated me to hold him longer. I also had Velamentous Cord Insersion, and she watched us pretty close till the end. I had to do a C-section, and please, do not do a C-section with another doctor - just Dr. Rubi Khilnani around the bay area knows how to do a successful c-section. I had tons of friends who had to do it, and had so much pain for days, and a very awful scar! Here I will give details, so you can understand. When I knew I was going to have a c-section, I talked to her secretary and other moms in her office, and they all told me how great Dr. does her surgeries. In the hospital a nurse even said that "Dr. Khilnani should be a plastic surgery too, she does an excellent job in her c-sections that you leave with no scar!!!". My c-section was painless, and I was walking in the next day. I would not trust in any other doctor as I trust Dr. Khilnani. read more

Dr Khilnani is a truly exceptional physician. She is in big part the reason my twins are here and healthy today! Mine was an unusually complicated pregnancy with multiple ER trips and seven months of bed rest for various medical reasons, followed by an emergency C-section. Dr K as I fondly call her, made the right decisions in my care at every stage, and some at very critical points that saved the life of my babies. I trusted her completely and felt reassured throughout my pregnancy that things would turn out well. To top that, she has a wonderful bedside manner. She can always be reached by phone or email and addresses all your concerns in-depth. She makes it a point to call you back/answer your email in the evening without fail. She also supports your choice of birthing method and tries to ensure that you are comfortable with all the medical decisions. If you are looking for an OB/GYN, look no further! Dr. K is an AMAZING OBGYN. My husband and I could not have hoped for a better experience, when conceiving, being pregnant and delivery our second son. Dr. K was extremely patient with us while helping us to conceive. We did not want to take any medication that would increase our chances of having twins and Dr. K. worked with us to help us get pregnant without extra medication. She was very attentive throughout the entire pregnancy. We had frequent appointments, frequent ultra sounds, and we always left the office reassured about the health of our baby. Even when I got diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes (which Dr. K. predicted I would have, based on other indications), my pregnancy went very smoothly. Dr. K. is very patient in answering all our questions, seeing me any time I had a question or concern and addressing all our concerns. She was very inviting of my husband when he joined me for all the doctor's appoints and had as many questions as I did. My c-section (planned, repeat c-section) went very smoothly and my scar looks better after the second c-section then after my first one. (for the record, my first c-section was done at Harvard Medical School hospital and was such a disaster that I had to spend 10 days at the hospital post first delivery. Dr. K. listened to all my fears and concerns and was prepared for anything that could possible go wrong - and nothing went wrong). I recommend Dr. K. for anyone looking for OBGYN. She is a wonderful person, great doctor, even driving from Santa Clara to her new office in San Mateo for the checkups every week while being 9-month long did not make me think about looking for another doctor. I have been with Dr. Khilnani since March...I immediately felt a warmness about her and her staff. She was so easy to talk to about my worries of being infertile.. she was the first doctor to take immediate action while being gentle with each step and procedure. Sure enough the MRI and ultrasounds revealed I needed surgery. To think that no other doctor figured this out is outrageous to us..all the while i had symptoms I did not understand (to say the least i freaked out in her office all the while she tried not to cry with me..at that moment i knew i found a doctor who truly cares for her patients). She gave us all the time we needed to come to terms and answered every question patiently and honestly. After the surgery Dr. Khilnani was there everyday to check how i was recovering. I can't imagine going through this without her by our side with her caring and compassionate demeanor.
