In November 2025, I hired him to refinish my oil‑finished hardwood floors. He represented himself as experienced with oil systems and advised that the floors would dry within approximately two days. Instead, the floors took several weeks before appearing dry, remained tacky for months, and have continued to transfer pigment onto socks, rugs, and furniture during normal residential use. Before refinishing, the floors were stable and did not transfer color. The issues began immediately after the work was completed. I later obtained manufacturer documentation confirming that the product used must be applied to bare wood and that applying traditional stain beforehand is not recommended. The manufacturer stated that the proper corrective remedy would require sanding to bare wood and refinishing. When concerns were raised, responsibility was denied and explanations shifted. I am currently pursuing resolution through formal channels. For anyone researching this contractor, I recommend carefully reviewing all associated business names, confirming the license number, and ensuring that preparation methods and product systems are clearly specified in writing before proceeding.
