These were some of them: 1. When the contract was being finalized, there were several items that hadn't been updated to reflect the current scope of work. I highlighted said items, along with the notation, "Looks great. Once these items are updated, I'm ready to sign." The project manager immediately texted back, "I feel like a school child and that you're correcting me." 2. I had it written into the contract no work past 5:00pm. On two days within the first week, the project manager authorized his worker to stay past the agreed-upon time, without first running it by me. When I brought it to his attention, he texted, "That's great! We're trying to get ready for inspection asap!". When it turned out to be an ongoing issue and I again called him out on it, he texted me a screenshot of a thank you card an appreciative former customer gave him. 3. I also had it written into the contract no dumping of dirty drywall or paint water down the storm drain in front of my house. One of the workers is on Ring doorbell video pouring the water down the storm drain in front of the house, in front of a painted sign on the curb of dolphins that says "No Dumping". This left two large white marks on the street for several days before they cleaned it. 4. They forgot to install a corner shower bench in one of the showers. When I brought it to the project manager's attention, he sheepishly grinned and said, "How did that happen? Well, obviously, we won't charge you for it." While they offered to install a shower seat after the fact, I didn't want to deal with the project manager any longer than necessary. 5. They were supposed to remove an old grab bar, towel bar, and toilet roll holder, but were saying that they first had to check to see if was on the scope of work. Time passed, and the project manager didn't get back to me to say that they were going to do it. Since I wasn't going to keep chasing answers, I hired a handyman to do the work. The next time the project manager was there, he said his own worker had done it and seemed surprised when I told him that my handyman had done it. 6. First final inspection failed due to there not being a GFI outlet and a vacancy sensor. The inspector commented in passing, "And you might want to make sure all your smoke detectors are up, so next time I don't need to go around the house." I was there when he said this (the project manager wasn't) and the conversation was recorded on indoor Ring camera. When the project manager showed up a few hours later, I said, "Looks like we didn't pass inspection." He shot back, "Well yeah, because you didn't have your smoke detectors up!" There were innumerable other incidents like this on the regular, where the project manager gaslit me. So perplexing and annoying. I've found an excellent contractor for my kitchen remodel and everything is running like a well-oiled machine.

He let us know the project was going to be delayed one day because of a prediction of rain. The following day, a Porta-Potti was delivered for the workers who arrived at 7:00 a.m, which was the pattern for the next four days. The crew worked very efficiently, from sunrise to sundown, cleaning up their waste each day into the trailer which was placed each day for their use. They took Sunday off, working another four days to complete the entire job. We are very pleased with the work done and recommend this company for their commitment to customer satisfaction in every aspect of their business.

HSH did our entire paint project a couple of weeks ago, and I had not had the time to highlight…read moretheir work. I was diligent in getting recommendations and patient in weighing the pros and cons with each business to ensure I made the best decision for what we needed. I was looking for a company that could paint the exterior of the house, do the wood rehab of a custom skylight, repair/rehab of wood trim around certain windows that were leaking, and then be reasonably priced compared to everyone else. HSH had really good reviews, was licensed, competitively priced, and Al's communication and follow up the entire time was excellent! HSH was at a price point that was not the lowest and not the highest either given what needed to be done to the house. After locking in the project, Al was really good following up on the details of the paint, what needed to be done, and the start date. HSH was always early, communicated the entire time to address my needs/concerns, and when i did not like the color we had selected, Al quickly adjusted by returning to the paint store to make sure we were satisfied. I really appreciated him taking my concern seriously and wanted to ensure we were happy. After the project was done there were several areas I brought up to his attention, and he immediately addressed them without an ask. Al's responsiveness to concerns and clients satisfaction is an outlier in today's day and age, and I really appreciated him taking ownership of correcting what was missed. Overall, what a great experience and Al was a Pro. I would definitely recommend HSH to anyone looking to start a paint/rehab project.
