This provider repeatedly told me he doesn't have time to read my messages via their own patient portal, and when I expressed to him my need to see a mental health provider he tried to commit me. So asking for help obviously means I need to be in a padded room I guess. This is the most antisocial approach to medicine I have ever experienced. Unless you want to end up in a padded cell I certainly wouldn't visit or trust this office.

She made me feel comfortable and relaxed every step of the way, talking me through everything. Dr. Karmali is extremely kind, attentive, gentle, humble, and calming. She went to UW Med School, so extra points for that! Another cool thing is that Swedish uses MyChart, an online personal health record system where you can see your medical history, appointments, messages from your doctor, etc. Strangely, when I called to make an appointment, the receptionist said that Dr. Karmali did not have any openings until January 2015. However, when I went online to MyChart, I saw multiple openings between now and the end of the year. I ended up making an online appointment with Dr. Karmali for early December and cancelling my phone-made appointment with another doctor at Swedish. I am so excited to go see Dr. Karmali again soon!

After my motorcycle accident in 2009 Dr. Karmali checked up on me and worked with my medical records from Harborview to continue with my pain management care. To this day she still works closely with me on this care and has been very good at keeping an eye out for my health and well being and continues to work with my pain management doctor at Harborview. Dr. Karmali set me up with MyChart (available to all Swedish patients) when I moved back to WA and through that I am able to discuss issues with her without having to make an appointment to go into the clinic (I'm already there enough as it is!) and she is quick to get back to me usually same day but definitely within 24 hours. She even responds on her days off and to me, that is complete dedication and proves just how much she cares about her patients. I have recommended her to a couple of friends and they love her as well. Dr. Karmali is very knowledgeable and caring. If she is unsure of something she will investigate the issue to ensure that you get the best possible care. She is just an amazing doctor and an even more amazing person.

I had a DEXA scan and an RMR (resting metabolic rate) test done. Both were super insightful for the benefit of my health. I recommend both tests! Joel and Tiffany both helped me. They are the owners and they are very kind, compassionate, and detail oriented. They really care about the customers that come through the door. Tiffany took time to sit down with me individually and carefully explain the testing results and answer all of my questions. They also have an app that has the reports and such on it as well for your reference. The space is medium sized and is very easy to get around in and go from test to test if you are doing multiple tests. It's a very clean and well laid out space. It was a little tricky getting into the building, but I figured it out! On that particular day, they had their cute dog in the space with them and that was very calming for me. She told me to continue taking prenatal and double my multi-vitamin as the nutrient level wasn't as high as she desired for me she said with our initial appointment. I went and got my blood drawn. My results came back, and I am super high in "iron". I came back for my second appointment today, one month later after receiving the blood draw to look at my results. She agreed high in iron. She told me to go get checked a second time after doing blood draws and stopping iron supplements. My mother is a hemochromotosis, if you do not get blood drawn, or this figured out - it is the reason of your death most likely with this genetic disease. I asked Naturomedica if they could look over my results a second time since I have already spent $600 with them, if they could just look it over for 5 minutes and give me a thumbs up, or a thumbs down... to tell me looks good after the blood draw, or tell me you need to come back in and we need to figure this out. They said they cannot do that, and it would cost ANOTHER $119 for a 15 minute phone call... I talked to Callie Juetten over the phone. She was harsh, rude, and extremely condoscending about the idea of having a 5 minute phone call or even an email to say you look good, or please come back in.
