This just seems to support my opinion that some of them are unethical and want to hide their poor behavior.

But honestly there's ALWAYS delays in medical insurance, and I've had way worse problems at other doctors' offices. The medical field is just a tad disorganized overall. BUT, they've upgraded to a well organized, quirky woman for the front desk.
