Fantastic facility! Fantastic staff! Fantastic Community structure! There are wonderful rolling hills which create natural divisions in which dogs will group, so it's like having several yards within one. The pond is deep enough and contoured enough to provide a lot of variation and slope. The physical build of the docks is top notch. There is enough shade at the pond for humans to be comfy. The bathing facilities are so "Temple Grandin" with full length windows at each of the very clean walk-in tubs, and they all look out over the park! My pup LOVED IT. Be prepared to state your animal's positive and/or challenging behaviors in written detail, and give yourself enough time to really read the community guidelines and education. Last but not least, it doesn't hurt to have an attached dog-friendly tavern which occasionally has food via one food truck or another. It's almost worth moving there for this park! read more

Train their staff. One of my dogs is a rescue and is sensitive if dogs "pack up" in small spaces. Like the front gate. I spoke to our vet about it because I was concerned. He growled a short. growl and got out of the situation It happend with a black wolf like dog. The vet said it was completely normal. Also.the staff needs to listen to both sides of a complaint and if there are more complaints from a single person consider what they are upset about!! I have found a really nice smaller dog park in Kalamazoo. There isn't the stress of Meadow run. There's a centralized area where people and dogs socialize with plenty of benches so people can sit and watch their dogs easily. There are objects like trees, benches and a fire hydrant to help get a visual on area to look to pick up poop bags available ! The park isn't enormous so dogs disappear! People are very friendly. This place is phenomenal! I am relatively new to the area and Meadow Run has been a true blessing. My dog loves it here. By now he has a few regular playmates, but he loves pretty much everyone he comes across. He's free to chase, wrestle, herd, fetch, swim, and anything else he can think of. Dogs really learn a lot from each other here. After he's tuckered out, we like visiting the Thirsty Hound; He LOVES the dog-safe ice cream bites. The community is also a huge draw. I find it's full of people who are just the right amount of gregarious. Not typically very loud, but still sociable and kind. I have had people give me advice, recommendations, recipes, and even invitations. Getting to know people here is a truly wonderful experience. Additionally, I have had great experiences with the staff. They take questions and suggestions in stride and never make you feel lesser for it. They are always more than willing to help! They recognize dogs, as well. I've even had a staff member at The Thirsty Hound remember my dog's allergies. Overall my dog and I have had a fantastic time here. I can not recommend it enough! ----- Addressing concerns from a factual standpoint: Visitation is $15 unless you know a member. If you're visiting with a member, the cost is $5 and your dog is considered the member's liability. There is a handful of paperwork you are required to fill out before your dog enters the park. Behavioral information, vaccination records, physical attributes, that sort of thing. This paperwork assures safety for your dog and others. It must be filled out regardless if it is a one-time visit or a membership. The price of the membership (which I have heard others calculate as the equivalent of $1 a day) goes into keeping things safe and sanitary. The grass stays cut down, the pond is consistently treated, and the agility course and pavilions are always clean. There are all sorts of tennis balls for the dogs to play with. Chuck-its are supplied at the front gate. There are extra leashes near the Thirsty Hound entrance just in case. Water stations for both dogs and humans are sprinkled around the park. Of course, there are also quite a few poop bag stations with trash cans. The park is comprised of one large fenced area with smaller ones inside. The smaller fenced areas provide extra safety in regards to the sections they surround: the calm section, the agility course, and the pond. This set up allows for a safeguard to the calm area, minimal distractions in the agility course, and a buffer to the pond for those who don't want a wet dog. It costs a nominal fee to use the bathing room. The fee varies based on dog size and membership status. For this fee, you have access to a plethora of professional grooming supplies, including (but not limited to) a blow-dryer, nail dremels, and face wipes. You are allowed to stay in there as long as the office is open. read more

So I am obsessed with this park and if you live close enough, it is definitely a place to go. I did find out that my dog loves water, but cannot swim. Guess I'll be helping her learn next summer at the lake. When coming here don't forget to bring your dogs vaccine records. My husband was talking the whole way home of getting a membership and coming once a week. I am honestly so excited by the idea the my dog will get the chance to use this 24 acre park on a regular basis. With 2 sections, one of which has a pond, it is easy to keep your dog away from the water if that's what you want. read more

We have been members of Meadow Run for about a year now and this park has changed our lives. Our senior Aussie has learned socialization and dog manners through the patience and graciousness of our fellow members and our younger Aussie has been blessed with the opportunity to chase all the tennis balls and meet all the different dogs her little heart desires. There has been swimming, dock diving, agility training, ball chasing, running, playing and so many new friends. For us Meadow Run has bathing stations right in the club house which means we can take our stinky girls directly from the lake to the tub and then home - no mess to clean up. The community of not only dogs, but humans who love and care for their dogs at Meadow Run has added to our lives in the most positive way possible. During the worst of the Covid pandemic Meadow Run was closed, they opened gradually with strict guidelines in place and now they are open and asking people to social distance and wash hands. People are responsible and respectful and the dogs are always happy. It is well worth the membership. read more

Recently the park invested in a fence placed around the man made pond. This was a Great idea! In the past we would come around on our last lap and our golden Bo would b line it for the water. This complicated things as the car became an absolute mess!! We now just head for the exit and use the hose that is supplied for a fresh water treat! Been a member for years. Great, safe place for the pups to romp, swim, jump, sniff, roll and run, run, run. Even the humans get a peaceful place to get in some exercise. Toys and agility area and equipment provided. Separate small/shy dog area available. Grounds are lovingly and conscientiously maintained. Convenient bathing facilities. Plenty of parking. We loved Meadow Run at first! Our pup loved going swimming and running around. Our dog unfortunately was able to jump the fences between the different sections of the dog park, which is something we began to work on her with. Patty gave us a shock collar to borrow and try on her, which we were very grateful of. No more than a week after that, our dog picked up kennel cough from the park, which I know can happen and was not upset about. So we did not use the collar on her while she was sick and we could not take her anywhere. Well our first visit back to the park after being cleared of kennel cough, our dog listened when we told her not jump the fence, which was a big step for her especially being extremely excited and a high energy dog. She went for a swim after we let her in and she found a dog to run and play with. Well mid sprint she jumped the fence to the bigger part of the park. I yelled at her and immediately begin walking towards her and so did my fiancé. We saw her run up to a small dog that had recently entered the park, who immediately started lunging and snapping at our dog. Our dog is only 9 months old and is a very high energy dog. She took it as the other dog wanted to play and started jumping around and trying to play. The owner to the other dog grabbed her by the fur on the back of her neck and started dragging her away. We could hear her crying across the field. My fiancé ran over there and said he would appreciate if he just grabbed her by the collar and the other owner started saying she was attacking their dog and she was growling and trying to bite him. First of all, our dog does not have an aggressive bone in her body. She was attacked twice at Meadow Run and just rolled on her back and took it. She runs away and gets intimidated by other dogs. Patty, the owner then walked up and began being extremely rude to us when she was not there for a the whole incident. She started implying that we were bad owners, had no control over our dog, and that we needed to go see a trainer. She was very accusatory and did not even give us a chance. She sided with the other members right away, who were older than us and members for longer. She talked down to us and it felt like it was because we were younger than the other members. When you start a membership at the park they give you a booklet of park guidelines and what to look out for. In there it specifically states that different types of dogs have different play styles... well our dog was playing the way she always plays when the incident occurred because that is her play style. The only dog that was displaying any signs of being aggressive was the other dog, and it's owners did not get a talking to about the behavior of their dog. If it is a concern about the way smaller dogs will interact with larger, higher energy dogs, then there should be a small dog only entrance and small dog only area. After this happened we left the park and on our way out another member asked us if we were leaving. I responded saying yes and gave him a quick run down of why. He even said he saw the guy grab her and heard her crying. I emailed Patty that day saying we would no longer be using our membership and how the way were treated was unacceptable. She responded saying sorry if her frustration was surfacing and that she would give me a refund. I did not even care about a refund, I wanted an apology for being talked down to and insulted. Never before have I felt like I was treated differently because of my age, but leaving Meadow Run that day my fiancé and I left saying that same exact thing, that it felt largely due to being younger. The park is nice and you meet a lot of nice people, but it's not worth being treated poorly, especially with high their membership prices are. We go to River Oaks dog park in Galesburg and I would recommend that park over Meadow Run read more

This was such a let down to have driven so far to go to this park based upon its rating and photos. Don't get me wrong, it's a beautiful park with wide open grassy fields for dogs to run. IF your dog passes their tests and you're willing to fork over the fee for a decent meal. read more

My dog Oreo and I have been members for close to a year. The park is open year round. It is even wonderful in the winter - the owners have trails plowed in the park to make walking inside the park very enjoyable in the winter. For the most part all of the dogs get along wonderfully. I believe this is due to the owners diligence to screening the dog's social skills and temperment before they are allowed to play inside the park! The park is always clean and well cared for. The swimming pond is Oreo's favorite and a usual hangout for many of the dogs and their owners in the summer! Absolutely love this Park. Plus Oreo gives it ALL four Paws! read more
