I stopped by…read morewith the pooch last night and was thrilled to know there was a place where my little guy could run and play. Located on the East End of town, the dog park was a little tricky for me to find out how to get to it. Not being from here originally, I'm not quite familiar with everything. I figured it out though by entering the park off Franklin and driving towards the boat ramp. The entrance to the dog park is right next to the boat ramp. Separate areas for small and large dogs, although while I was there, the small dog area (which is also smaller in size) was the only area with dogs in them.. and they were larger dogs. My guy will play with anyone though and he was happy to have someone to play with. Great little free park and I'm sure I'll be back quite often.

However it's also located right next to the sewer treatment plant, so if there's a stiff wind, watch out! The large-dog area is HUGE and has a nice rolling hill for dogs to run over. It doesn't have water stations like other parks in the area, but just outside of the fenced area there is a dog water station. It could use a bench or two for seating, but it's nicely maintained and a spacious spot for dogs to burn through their energy. I would recommend visiting!

Fantastic facility! Fantastic staff! Fantastic Community structure!…read more There are wonderful rolling hills which create natural divisions in which dogs will group, so it's like having several yards within one. The pond is deep enough and contoured enough to provide a lot of variation and slope. The physical build of the docks is top notch. There is enough shade at the pond for humans to be comfy. The bathing facilities are so "Temple Grandin" with full length windows at each of the very clean walk-in tubs, and they all look out over the park! My pup LOVED IT. Be prepared to state your animal's positive and/or challenging behaviors in written detail, and give yourself enough time to really read the community guidelines and education. Last but not least, it doesn't hurt to have an attached dog-friendly tavern which occasionally has food via one food truck or another. It's almost worth moving there for this park!

He growled a short. growl and got out of the situation It happend with a black wolf like dog. The vet said it was completely normal. Also.the staff needs to listen to both sides of a complaint and if there are more complaints from a single person consider what they are upset about!! I have found a really nice smaller dog park in Kalamazoo. There isn't the stress of Meadow run. There's a centralized area where people and dogs socialize with plenty of benches so people can sit and watch their dogs easily. There are objects like trees, benches and a fire hydrant to help get a visual on area to look to pick up poop bags available ! The park isn't enormous so dogs disappear! People are very friendly. It's great!!

Even if you don't have a dog, you can come to chill with doggos and it's not weird at all. There is a large indoor gated area and an outdoor gated area with some seating. There is also an area where dogs aren't allowed with a bar, food, and a sort of gift shop. To bring your dog here, they must be spayed/neutered and up-to-date on vaccinations. You have to pay to bring your dog here and there are punchcards or monthly memberships available. There are staff on duty at all times to help with dog crowd control and keep the chaos to a minimum. I come here a lot and sometimes it's super chill and quiet and other times the dogs are all rowdy and loud. They also do special events like trivia, comedians, and foam parties for the dogs!

He can be challenging, but the staff usually contacted me and I handled him without issue. On our last visit, however, the staff claimed he was stressed and tried to calm him by petting him--even though his profile explicitly states he does not tolerate being touched by strangers. If a dog growls and moves away, continuing to pet him is irresponsible.I took Mojo home. The next morning, I received a voicemail saying he was banned. After many positive visits, one encounter with staff who wouldn't adapt to his needs resulted in him being permanently excluded. That's not acceptable.
