I thought I would respond to a view reviews. Curtis B. - FYI I looked up your two units 368 and 361. I'm sure you were busy at that time and maybe things got a little confused. You rented 368 first and paid a Security Deposit...then as you said you rented 361 for 6 weeks, which I normally do a one month minimum and I didn't charge you a Security Deposit since you had rented from me often and were only going to use it for one month .....which ended up being 6 weeks. I did not return a security deposit on #361, because you didn't pay one. I have printed off the accounting for you. I don't have an email for you, but will try and send it to you via snail mail....if you want to email me I can send them to you. llogan@meadowlarkstorage.com Jeff R. - Thank you for your comments.... it didn't consider allowing other customers to have a Rummage Sale would bother customers. I do understand your view point, sorry and I'll have to think about this going forward. When we open the gate for Auctions and Rummage Sales we close it at night. With 16 Video Cameras at the Fredonia Sites we haven't had any issues at all. We have left the gate open in the past when we were have internet issues, but we switched to Frontier (wasn't available) vs a Cellular carrier a couple of years ago so the gate is always shut. We also have an exit keypad at all of our sites, so if someone piggy backs in they can't get in without a code. Most of the other Storage Facilities require a 30 day notice to move on the month to month agreement. We only require a 4 day notice to move on the month; so June 16th for June 30th etc. and then we stick to it, because we are usually very full and need notice to pre-rent the unit. Lisa and I do keep track of these units and if we rent them out we prorate the rent back. So a couple months later we send a little check out etc. An example it in the Rental Agreement and we now have signs posted near the kiosks. Explaining how to rent a unit, pay, use the FREE Move In Trucks and Move Out Notice....Thanks for your input. Laura Ron R - Hi Ron I believe you rented 028 under your wife's name. I see what happened- you rented the unit through the call center 1/16/15 and paid a deposit. You were to have completed the rental at the kiosk and pay the balance of $70, so this would have popped up on the lock out list. I apologize at that time I had a high school kid helping me and he wouldn't check to see if the units were occupied or not and he unfortunately locked a couple of units. I can see you paid Feb 3rd, so over two week after you rented it. This doesn't happen anymore. Mary helps me with the lock outs now, but if you don't pay your gate code doesn't work either. Sorry about the inconvenience. Lisa has the phone most of the time, if she doesn't answer it goes to our Call Center who can call me. If Mary or I are unavailable to solve a problem then one of my two sons are driving now and available. This is a big reason we decided to grow and add locations in Cedar Grove, Grafton, Belgium and two more.... so we weren't a "Mom and Pop" anymore and could handle Customer Service easier. Hi Both Brian and Claire rented units at a time when I had just hired a part time "helper" to do lockouts, sweep, pickup trash etc. Unfortunately when I was training them I did not specify "do not lock out a unit, if the customer lock is not on the unit". In Claire's case she didn't pay right away and moved in two weeks late, so she was "locked out" for non payment......obviously she hadn't moved in yet. I was able to help her out at the end of her rental when she was halfway to Madison (they lived there) and she realized she forgot to put her lock on. So I was able to secure her unit for her. Brian has written the same review on Google and Mercantile. Similar thing happened. He went through the rental process and then wanted to pay with an American Express Card. We did not accept American Express at that time....we do now. It was my understanding he was going to call his Company and see if they had another Credit Card for him to use. I go out of my way to help people who are in the stressful process of moving and relocating and often let them move in and pay a week or two later. My new helper did not think to look and see if the unit was occupied, since it didn't have a lock on it. I have reviewed this training aspect. I have do not and would not hang up on a customer or another person, but I also do not let people yell and swear at me. When this happens I politely end the conversation and suggest we talk another day. This is what I suggested to Brian. His company was relocating him back to WI he was obviously stressed out. He has taken the time to write the same review on Google and Mercantile. It appears these online "review" services are being revamped or will be eliminated, because of all of the lawsuits that have been initiated for defamation of character. I have hundreds of customers with glowing reviews and we have great relationships. They are just too busy to waste their time writing negative reviews online.
