Perfect accommodations! Linda, the innkeeper, was so gracious and attentive to our comfort and enjoyment during our stay. Our room was immaculate, the bed mattress superb, and the bathrooms completely updated. Her culinary skills are over the top! My husband and I enjoyed breakfasts of poached eggs over toasted, thick-sliced homemade bread, topped with a homemade pesto sauce, fresh fruit, blackberry cobblers, strawberry parfaits, French toast (also with her homemade, thick-sliced bread) topped with sliced almonds and toasted, shredded coconut with maple syrup. And that's not including the fresh pastry items always available on her buffet along with coffee and tea. Sorry, I got carried away! My wife and I had a very pleasant stay here last week. The owners, Betty and John Foy are super friendly and a pleasure to talk with. Breakfast each morning was served by the both of them and was followed up with small talk about the town and what our plans were for the day. The food was perfect each morning, and they were certain to have enough coffee on hand for each of us. The dining room had nice music playing in the background too. The first night, there was one other guest in the building, but the second night they had departed and so it was just us. There may have been another guest in the attic, but I'm sure it was just a squirrel. I'm so glad that we chose this quaint location to stay in for this trip. It was within walking distance to everything that we wanted to see, and very easy to get in and out of. read more

Wonderful stay in a true bit of history on New Bern's picturesque Pollock Street. Building dates to 1847, faithfully restored, located right near the water to the east and shops, restaurants, clubs to the west. Innkeepers Betty and John are super friendly and helpful. They fit us in last minute late on a cold February evening, and the next morning provided a delicious and bountiful breakfast. Stayed at the top of the stately staircase in either the Stanly or Spaight room (can't remember which). Those two engaged a duel in 1802 so our only regret was not having the ghost of the fallen duelist haunt us... instead our night was peaceful. Highly recommended! read more

My husband and I stayed at this Bed & Breakfast for 2 nights as we closed on a house in the area. Our room was beautiful, spacious, and comfortable with historical charm. The owner made us feel very welcome. She was very hospitable, providing small comforts like coffee available all day, water bottles, and other drinks. There are a few gathering areas for guests both inside and out that added to the comfort and charm of the inn. The breakfasts each morning were absolutely delicious and well planned. Spent Easter weekend in New Bern at Meadows Inn. Can't say enough great things about the accommodations and hospitality. The innkeeper (Linda) was very welcoming and attended to each guest's need. The palace room was large, comfortable and sparkling clean. Breakfast was fantastic! As well as 5 o'clock appetizers and wine. Cookies also served each day! During our stay, Linda made sure the children had fun-decorating Easter eggs. An Easter egg hunt was also held and was a great activity to keep them entertained. Easter bunny pancake breakfast was served. Guests were provided options to suit their taste. Would highly recommend and will return. read more

Cozy 19th century home which takes you back in time. Took me a while to acclimatize to the old setting. The inn keepers John & Betty were cordial and professional in the way they hosted us. They arranged a pack & play for our child which made us worry about 1 less thing to carry. We stayed in the Granny's attic. It is a secluded stay perched in the top portion of the inn. They had round the clock serve yourself supply of bagged and loose teas, complimentary juices and Pepsi(of course). Betty made us quiche, cinnamon bread, home style potatoes and french bowl of fruits for breakfast. Not to forget complimentary freshly squeezed orange juice. Far more than what we had asked for. We recently stayed 6 nights at The Meadows Inn. Our stay was great. The Inn is located less than 2 full blocks from the water. Next door to a restaurant/pub that has outdoor seating. Linda, the Inn Keeper,advised that New Bern has a strict noise ordinance that is effective at 10PM every night. We never heard a sound in our room which was on the side of the bar. The Inn is also located 2 blocks from Middle Street, New Bern's "restaurant row," with other neat spots along the way. Linda worked with us, as we booked fairly late for a stay that included the Mum Fest weekend. We really appreciated the effort. The rooms are very comfortable, the rooms and bathrooms are spotlessly clean and have excellent soap, shampoo, etc. Breakfast, every morning, was outstanding. A starter course usually includes fruit and yogurt, followed by the main course. Juice, coffee, tea, water also provided. Water, beer and wine are provided all day as are Linda's baked treats. There is a very comfortable common area for sitting and reading, as well as a porch area at the rear of the Inn for relaxing. The Meadows Inn is highly recommended. read more

We had never been in a B&B before so we were not sure what to expect. We could not have been more pleased. Beside welcoming us upon our arrival, Linda was very attentive and helpful. She saw I brought my own pillows (due to another trip at a hotel that had the worst ones) and she explained she had a ton of different types. Turns out I could have left my pillows at home because the bed and the pillows were great. Each morning for breakfast, we got a wonderful meal. She also directed us to some of the local restaurants. We could not have been happy with our stay and will be telling all our friends and family about this place. You cannot go wrong visiting here. read more

Typical of most bed and breakfasts located in these little coastal North Carolina towns, the proprietors went out of their way to make us comfortable and were very informative about things to do in New Bern. Great location in the heart of New Bern. Park your car and walk everywhere. Betty and a John are lovely and accommodating. We stayed in Granny's Attic which is a two bedroom suite perfect for my wife and I with our 25 year old son. Perfect for young families, too. Breakfast was delicious and our hosts inquired about dietary concerns before we got there evidence of their thoughtfulness. Very nice couple who run the B&B. The rooms were comfortable. The bathroom was complete with shower and hot water. They even provide soap and shampoo. The whole property is clean and safe. They served a lot of food at breakfast, much of which is home made and her own recipe. Plus it is more affordable than the other area B&Bs. We would stay here again. read more

The accommodations were very nice, and the hosts were helpful. We will definitely stay there again. We had the king bedroom on the first floor. The bed was nice and firm...my favorite kind. Everything was clean and the coffee was great. Strong but not too strong. We really like good coffee. Quiche and fruit was the breakfast plus a warm muffin and juice.
