Today was great, and this is the first time I've used the word " great" for any massage/ chiropractor / acupuncture I've used in the last EIGHT years. Even my boyfriend asked when I told him it was great.. he was like " wait.. this is the first time you've ever said great". Long story short I've had some intense back/shoulder knots for about 7 or 8 years that I can remember. Really tight knots on my upper shoulder/shoulderblade/back area especially right side, but both are effected . I have yet to return to any masseuse/practitioner because no one has helped remotely and I never felt like giving them another 30 or 60 minutes or my time, much less my money. Meagan I thought did a great job today. It's not like she could fix me in 30 minutes, but the reason I went for the lower amount was because well.. it's not cheap! $40 for 30 minutes or $80 for 60 minutes and I didn't want to be disappointed yet again. The 30 minutes was more of a trial period for me, to make sure that I felt happy with the services, and would return ( as I never have before..) Meagan did a great job of focusing on my knots and the areas that bothered me. Moving my arms / shoulder around to manipulate the muscles, and really dig deep. Like I said, she didn't fix me in 30 minutes but that's expected. She did do a great job in the time we were allotted, and I'd be glad to come back to see what we can come up with together.. between my stretching (she showed me a few stretches to do) and my next visits, I'm apprehensive to see how far my pain and discomfort can come along in a positive fashion! Meagan is by far the best massage therapist I have ever been to! I have fairly severe back and neck issues and she is the only one that gives me lasting relief. She is highly skilled and extremely knowledgeable. She is also very experienced, having worked both privately and in doctors offices for a number of years. Meagan has a deep understanding of anatomy, which allows her to address your individual needs. (This is NOT someone who took a six week massage course over the summer!) Not only will she give you the best massage of your life, but she will give you advice on how to prevent problems when you go home. I was really nervous before going to Meagan- I've often found massages frustrating. They relax me a bit, but as someone who suffers from TMJ, they never seem to quite give me the relief that the first physical therapist I had gave me. hands down the best deep tissue massage i've ever gotten (and i get them at least once every month or two). meagan has great technique -- she knows where all the important pressure points are, and knows how to work out those knots and tough spots like no one's business. it also is a true full body massage experience. i don't know how many places i've been to that don't spend enough time on certain extremities/appendages. meagan uses very firm pressure, but doesn't physically knead and abuse your skin like many other massage therapists will. after an hour, she left me feeling noticeably more relaxed and way less tense than when i had first walked in. now, a day later, i'm virtually pain free and still as relaxed as ever. whereas with other deep tissue sessions i've had in the past, i always feel the painful aftereffects up to 3-4 days after. plus, bonus points for a functionally proficient website that makes scheduling a breeze. can't wait to come back next month! read more

I get a lot of massages and I thought I had gotten the best of the best. But today Meagan's massage took deep tissue to a new level. I have a few areas that are really in need of some work. Meagan took on the task and worked those areas so that I literally felt different walking home. I can't explain how she did it except to say that she was able to reach deeply into tight muscles and help straighten them out. She also gave me ideas about how to stretch those areas at home to assist with healing. Meagan's massages are definitely as good as it gets. read more

In a nutshell, Meagan is awesome. I've been using her for massage for several years and she has been a tremendous help for my constant aches and pains. My primary issue is lower back pain, but she manages to find and work out all of my kinks. In my experience, prior to Meagan, it was hard to find a therapist who was consistent in both ability and knowledge. As another review wrote, she is constantly educating herself on the latest techniques and methods and clearly has compassion for her clients and passion for her work. She has given me some great tips for home exercises (and knows when I haven't been doing them!). In 15 years of therapy, Meagan is without a doubt one of the best practitioners I've ever worked with. I've been working with her for about two years now, and from my first visit I was hooked! As a body builder, I am pretty much in a constant state of hurt. So it's very important for me to work with someone who is able to address my immediate issues (tears, inflammation, sprains, etc...) as well as intuitively approach my treatment in a way that ensures I maximize the residual benefits of each session. Whether I opt for a deep tissue or Swedish massage, I always leave feeling like she knew exactly what I needed. I can attest that her knowledge of the skeletal muscular system & kinesiology is truly impressive, and she regularly offers suggestions for exercises I can perform in between visits in order to prevent future injury or assist with the recovery of a chronic problem I am experiencing. She is absolutely fantastic. I was having daily headaches from what I learned from a physician was an old shoulder and neck injury. I had been to 1-2 other massage therapists, and while it did help some, I never really felt like they were doing enough to work out the issue. I was lucky enough to find Meagan through Yelp. She has experience working with car accident/whiplash victims. Meagan works wonders. I see her every ~3 weeks and I don't have any more headaches. This was a thorough and deep deep deep massage, with special emphasis on some particular problems in my hip and thigh. Meagan worked these areas much more thoroughly than other massages I've had, and she explained the whole relationship among the various sore and stiff spots. Megan does give great massages, but her business practices are not up to par. She has double booked me several times and when I showed up, found out that I did not have an appointment. She always seemed stressed and would complain during my appointment about her schedule. My grandma was very sick and I went to say my final goodbyes, had to cancel an appointment, and got a very rude voicemail from her for canceling. I had already paid for the massage, she didn't lose anything from me canceling. Many times I would go to book with her to find out there was no openings for several weeks or she would offer me an opening then when I would confirm the time, she would already have it booked. So I am a bit of massage junkie....and I have to tell you there is such a difference when you have a therapist who is not only exceptionally gifted in the art of massage, but also knows her stuff. Meagan is one of them and is has given me two of the best massages I have had (I've only had two from her, but plan to have more!!) I will say that I really like deep massage, and she really understands the fine line between enough pressure to really help loosen your muscles, break down scar tissue and the "I can't take it "pain. She excels in deep muscular massage and if you are interested will talk you thru areas she sees as problems and how to help alleviate future damage with better posture, exercise, etc. I will say her place is basic and comfortable--not plush and spa like--but when I go for a massage--the talent of the person working on my back/neck/muscles is way more important than the extras.
