Unfortunately, my experience wasn't what I expected. When she arrived, she didn't have a professional setup at all. no lighting, no chair, no proper kit setup just a makeup bag and a small mirror placed on my friend's dining table. She did mention she had just moved to Florida so maybe that explains why she didn't have a real setup, I'm not sure. I showed her my inspo photos and clearly explained that I wanted a clean girl makeup, very light makeup look with soft pink blush and almost no eyeshadow. She said it was fine, but the makeup she did was completely different. She finished in about 20 to 25 minutes, and she ended up giving me dark eyeshadow even though I specifically said I didn't want that. The foundation made me look orange and wasn't matched to my skin tone. Overall, the makeup looked outdated, almost like a 2016 style, not the fresh and natural look I asked for. I was really disappointed, especially since this was for my friend's wedding. I also want to add that I didn't really speak up because it was my first time getting my makeup done professionally, and I get shy about saying something. I was already nervous and had to rush to a whole wedding right after, so I didn't want her to have to start over or make things awkward. I just left feeling frustrated. I still tipped her because she was very sweet, but the service didn't meet my expectations at all.

Meli is always professional and quick to answer any questions. One thing that I think she does differently is she looks at your skin type and it's current condition to decide what moisturizer and products to use. I went to her once hungover as hell, and she explained why she used a certain dewy moisturizer and foundation on my face. This is helpful because there are SO many options out there, it's great to know what an expert thinks is right for you. Meli takes her time and listens. You can tell she has a passion for makeup, and it shows through her work!

This was the first place I selected and hit it out of the park on the first try. Thank God! That was in 2013. Evie has been cutting and styling my hair ever since. She listens to what you want, clarifies with you to make sure she understands, and when she says she is taking off an inch, it's an inch. Not an inch and a half to two inches. She also takes me on time and has never canceled on me. Her bubbly personality makes me look forward to seeing her every time I return. The prices are really reasonable too. That was important. I never understood paying $100 to get some dead ends cut off and a blow dry.

As for the makeup and hair...LASTED ALL DAY LONG!! I barely needed a touch up! Ash knew what products would work for my face and I'm still blown away by her results. I wasn't even a contestant in the pageant, but she made me feel just as beautiful as them.
