I entered the restaurant behind a man and woman and stood in the waiting area. There were 2 people at the bar and one guy sitting at a table but no hostess, waitress or bartender to be seen. After about 5 minutes, I called out "Hello, is anybody there?" Eventually, the waitress appeared and asked the woman in front of me if we were together. The woman said no, that she was there with her son and then, in a very loud, nasty voice, "I wouldn't have screamed at you like she did", looking at me. The waitress turned her back on me and took the woman to her table without greeting me or acknowledging my presence. Not enjoying the vibe, I left. Get it together people.

We've tried their Pancho Villa Burrito, Carlito's Steak Plate, the Breakfast Steak Burrito, and their Chilaquiles, which was off-menu. Everything was fresh and tasty. The salsas are homemade as well. I decided to try this place because of all the positive reviews, and it did not disappoint. My meal was delicious, the atmosphere relaxing, the service impeccable, and the owners are charming. Be cause of my great experience, I returned the following evening. My second meal was just as good as the first. Whenever I am in Fort Madison again, I will definitely have dinner at Simple Table by Hitomi. An excellent find!
