Kind staff and helpful too. Salads grabbed "to go" were wilty and inedible. Once brought to their attention, they quickly took action by allowing us to choose other salads and removed all salads with the same expiration date from the cooler. We got in only 5 or so minutes after they opened so we had to wait a while for the food in their cute little store, but god was it worth it. The food was fine. But jeesh served in a paper wrapper and tables needing to be wiped. I get it this is a small family business and their season is only a few months long AND there are just not many places to eat in this town. But what does it take to clean tables between guests? I had to use sanitary spray and napkins to clean before we ate. (Ate there twice only because there is nowhere else to eat) Also take a look at their napkin dispensers. The food might be one of the few reasonable lunch places in Nauvoo. A good description is "one of the last refuges of "a good deal." The food is pretty good quality and the prices are more than reasonable. It's conveniently located downtown near the temple. Service is slow cause they make it to order. Quality was very good. Okay just to be clear: so the four stars is for the huge rice crispy treat. The sandwiches and burgers are not particularly tasty - but they are inexpensive. They're the only game in town folks! But they're not sittin' on their laurels... I ordered the Burgerdilla and it was GOOD! Hubs and I shared an order of plain tots, which I would have preferred if they'd cooked them more. The service was GREAT. The food came out pretty fast. And the atmosphere is nice. We visited Nauvoo for the day and when lunchtime hit the restaurant options were slim. We had passed The Red Front earlier in the day so we returned to give it a try. The menu includes hamburgers, hotdogs and deli sandwiches. I had the Durphy Turkey which was turkey, bacon, cheese and sauce of some type. It was served hot on a soft white roll and I made it a combo which includes soda and tots. Two other people in my party had the Burgerzilla, which is a burger in a quesadilla type wrap. They both enjoyed it. The service was friendly. The dining room has a urban feel to it. Seating was limited so be prepared to share your table if it's busy. read more

Since during the winter, this is the only place open to get a bite to eat, be kind and supported as much as you can. I've come here over the years and sure hope it survives. Can't say if I recommend this business or not. We're not from around here and besides a gas station, they're the only place that has breakfast. Except they were closed the one morning we were there. They were the only place open for lunch in town, so we went there. Right after we ordered, about 30 people came in and ordered. We waited. And waited. And after all those people AFTER us got food, I asked the guy where ours was and he said they didn't have anymore orders to fill. So we had to wait some more. At least it was fresh. It was good food. Just frustrated that this kind of thing always happens to us no matter where we go. read more

I had high hopes. There aren't many options in Nauvoo, so I guess that would make revisiting The Red Front fairly likely for a meal out. The aesthetic is charming, and one star is for the pleasant atmosphere. The food left a whole lot to be desired. We ended up eat here for lunch AND dinner since it was one of the few places open after 6. Our lunch was made and served by the owners. The service and food were good and properly priced for the serving size/quality. When we returned for dinner it was only employees working and the things had gone downhill. Food was poorly made, wait times long, other patrons in the room were grumbling too. I was able to tell the folks around me that it had been much better earlier in the day. Convenient, easy and affordable! Prefect for a family with children. They make it very easy for the kids to pick out their food choices with a casual cafeteria style setup. They had microwaveable and fresh options like mac & cheese cups, ravioli cups, chips, oatmeal cups, fruit cups, bananas, apples, canned and bottled drinks, salads, sandwiches, etc. Their homemade desserts are great! Visiting Nauvoo during the off-season leaves few options for food. The Hotel Nauvoo is closed during the week (pandemic staff shortages). Across the street is a Red Front. Open! So in we went. We did not regret it. The service was friendly and fast. The Red Front burger was delicious. My favorite (front what I was able to sample) was the Chipotle Dog. I would recommend that if you like a good, unique dog. A flavorful dog, very fresh bread, tortilla chip strips and some tasty sauce (not too much heat). Perfect! read more

Stopping through Nauvoo, my wife and I were told about The Red Front from our hotel across the way. It being the only place in town open due to COVID, we thought we'd give it a try. We looked up the reviews as most people do in this day and age, and found its equivalent to a gas station...that still didn't keep us from going, as we were hungry, and didn't 25 more mins to get food elsewhere. We were pleasantly surprised!!! I personally got the Red Front Burger, My wife tried the chipotle burger, and shared the basic tots as a side. The red front burger is your classic American burger with a pickle and banana peppers and a homemade patty! It was quite delicious! better yet, it's cheap! Only 4.25 for a burger! That's basically an in n out burger cheap! My wife said the chipotle was good with the perfect amount of chipotle kick! The tots were a nice side and perfectly crisp and have a yummy bacon-y fry sauce! Lastly, OH SNAP!!! The ginger snap cookies, are worth every penny!!! They are SO SOFT! Not too overpowering in the ginger department, but not too hard being that you pull them out of the refrigerator! Once they soften up, there is a delight with each and every bite! read more

I know I am not the typical patron, but if I show up to spend money and get an eye-roll just for showing up, then maybe I don't show up again. The food is... meh... and honestly, because it is Nauvoo you can only get food at Casey's and whoever chose to open for the day, you kind have to just be okay with it.
