They don't listen to your concerns but tell you you have to stay or else you won't have a job... go to any other place. I was sent to this office for a workmans comp injury. Was told Urgent Care closes at 8pm, arrived (7:12pm) and was told they were done seeing patients for today. You can come back tomorrow morning. Extremely slow. Poor communication. We shut up there was no one outside waiting. There was no one out front. We open the door they said keep waiting out there. We've been here about an hour just to try to get a Covid test for travel They won't scan the results or send them to you directly so if you're in route on your travel you'll have to find somebody who will come in and get them for you. Be sure to fill out the necessary paperwork so they can release it We could not make an appointment online. The door says it is during its business hours but they have a sign that says closed. They say they are very understaffed according to a piece of paper on the table outside the doors However we've seen staff and no patients. Be aware that once you fill out the paperwork, then they send you a text and you have to fill out more information. Still waiting. Terrible communication. 90 minutes and place was empty if patients. We still sitting outside. They took our credit card now for over 15 minutes to run it. They have disappeared again with our card !! Yajaira has been helping us. She says that only the doctor can take the Covid test here. While covid testing is only walk in, they have appointments. She would not advise us any eta such as when expected to be seen. They turned one person away who wanted a job physical. They kept the firefighter waiting too. He was their for annual inspection This is awful. Find somewhere else. Maybe mobile medics would do it they are awesome. Update: they couldn't find our documents for test results next day Then after holding on phone for 15 minutes they finally located it. Dr Fandino gave professional, personal care and solved my reason fot visit. My office experience was great as usual and all the staff treated me with efficiency and kindness. I've been going to the Med Center for over 35 years for emergent and non emergent needs. I love this place. They are now my primary care physician. read more

I'm not sure why the poor stars here but I have probably been to this location 10-20 times and always have a good experience. I like to have regular STI screenings, once every two or three months. I find this Medcenter is great for that, unlike other centers that turn me away without symptoms, or try to shame me for getting tested! Easily accessible location off state street. There is enough parking for about eight cars. The office is clean and a comfortable temperature inside with about 3 exam rooms. When you arrive, you were asked to mask up and fill out paperwork while waiting outside. They do not save your paperwork so you do have to fill out paperwork every time you come. An attendant will then come out and call your name, and there's a little bit more waiting before going in to be seen by a medical assistant. Finally a doctor will come to you whenever they can. This whole experience usually takes 2 to 3 hours. But I don't think this is uncommon for a medical center that takes walk-inpatients . This is not going to be a place where you get very caring, thorough, patient, medical care but an excellent place for a screening, COVID test, or quick diagnosis that you need for work or to get a medication. There is one woman doctor that seems a little but "judgy" about coming in for STI screenings too often but I don't mind too much- it's widespread in the medical community and i do think it will change over time. Despite the few drawbacks, I think it's the best and quickest place in town to be seen. read more

Communication. I was told they accepted walk in but never told the office shuts down for lunch completely. I showed up at 11:30AM and the woman at the front desk told me that they are going to lunch and to come back at 1:30PM. It was upsetting as I drove over an hour to this mandated office for pre-employment testing. I came back at 1:00PM and waited in the parking lot. After 10 minutes, I saw a guy walk in at 1:10PM. I followed him in and there were already four people ahead of me. Why was I told to come back at 1:30PM? Today is 10/28/25, and the times are above. The young lady was rude and short with me. With 18 years of corporate Management, Ranch Management, I wouldn't hire this lady to clean my ranch stalls. The manager of the office will know who is working and will address this appropriately. (Silent chuckles, whispers, and Stink Eye, is what you'll experience.) Good luck folks! Also there was a higher temps than normal report today and they were kicking the heater full blast! One of the staff came out and asked why the front desk had the heater on...front desk acted ignorant to the question and other staff shut off. ALSO!!! I was told to fill out two pages and sit then return them and sit again. I did just that and the front desk just put my papers in a file holder. 15 minutes later I went up to ask if there was anything else I need to do...she gave me another two pages... WTF! Long wait! If you have a choice of where to go, do not go to Med Center Santa Barbara CA! Once I was out of my physical, the doctor told me to go sit down and wait to be called. Initially, I had to get a tuberculosis test done for a new position that I am committing myself to, he's the male nurse working the front office currently, I didn't get his name but he's very helpful and his customer service is Superb Although I must say the last time I called prior to meeting hi was very rude so maybe that's why there are such a low amount of decent reviews here. And I can understand peoples frustration when receiving folks with that kind of an attitude.. I'd like to think that maybe she was just having a bad day but I wanted to give a shout out to the male nurse front desk attendant, who has been very helpful and made this whole process, smooth and easy. I HATE THE STAFF more but than I hated EVITA at NY City Center a few years back. And that was the most painful 2.5 hours of theater in my entire life. The nice old male doctor is the only one I don't despise. Not Dr Mueller. Last name ends in IAN. He's excellent and has a good bedside manner. The staff is horrible --and they're all fetuses. You tell them symptoms and then doctor doesn't even communicate like a human. Just asks what's wrong like a robot , not even bothering to read the piece of paper. "So you're congested?" would be less annoying than asking like she couldn't be bothered to read the sheet in front of her. AVOID Dr SAOUF. She is poisonous and petty. Rabid, really. I have a sinus infection. They didn't tell me I was being treated in the Covid tent. If they'd said that, fine. But as it is they make you sit in the parking lot. They act like it's April 2020. I don't have Covid symptoms. My temp : 97. I have severe congestion. That is it. At 50, I know sinusitis when I have it. I've been coming here off and on here 20 years. Always for sinus. So at most it's Covid symptoM. Singular. They make no apologies. Every single staffer here has a miserable attitude and then they take offense when you mirror that attitude back to them. This nurse is a little punk. And the girl who took my card? She should have given me a head's up. I have NO Covid symptoms except congestion. He told me to calm down. I didn't raise my voice. I'm calm. Mad but calm. A boy of 25 is going to teach me how to behave? To which I returned that I was calm but hostile. I almost spelled hostile for him because he might not know what hostile means. Or how to spell it. The English teacher in me never goes away. I have every right to be hostile. And I'm hostile AF right now. Another word? Seething. As in seething with quiet rage. Simmering seething rage and quiet hostility are not grounds for withholding treatment. Think I'm Marisa Tomei in My Cousin Vinny. "You think I'm hostile now?" This little pisher doesn't know from hostile. And he thinks he's going to censor me or make me pleasant?! Or give me lessons in etiquette. Way to read the room. Or tent. Shows his IQ isn't much higher than his age. I hate this place since Covid. But it's 1 minute from my apartment. Then the Dr comes out--I'm the first one here and they're so useless and lazy and slow that no patient seen till 8:30 when clinic opens at 8-and she's mad because I was mean to her snowflake nurse who thinks patients should always be sweetness and light. I hate all of them. The last time I was here, the nice older man discussed primary matters. Dr Saouf is petty and vindictive. I asked about shingles vaccine but she said it was an urgent care. True but these urgent cares function as primaries. She wouldn't talk to me about vaccine because I wasn't nice to that sullen little nurse. Note: I wasn't told I would be treated in a tent. He looked 16. And no one explained the doctor would come out. When I asked, he said "We'll see." So it was a power struggle between me and these petty snowflakes who expect to be treated with kindness when they fail to model the respect they think they deserve. THE WORST PEOPLE. read more

The woman who administered my test was kind, but oh my god I cannot emphasize enough how rude the woman at the front desk was. She was gossiping about patients through my entire duration at the clinic, and when I had basic questions about the billing information she was extremely condescending, even going as far as telling another nurse not to speak with me when I asked a basic question. I don't have standard health insurance so I don't really understand the process and I was so shocked that someone would speak to me that way when I never once had any hostility towards here. I have been coming to this location of the Med Center for over 20 years. My first visit was in the year 2000. I was extremely ill, alone, and scared. Dr. Meller swiftly diagnosed me as having a kidney infection. I hadn't considered it because UTI symptoms were nonexistent. He knew immediately, prescribed the proper meds & followed up. 10 years ago, my daughter was a toddler and suddenly became quite sick. It was after hours, and of course my first instinct was to take her to the Med Center. I brought her in, and we received quick and excellent care, again with Dr. Meller. My third & most recent visit to the clinic was just today. My daughter and I went to get Covid tested. We understood that it was walk up only. We understood that we would have to be patient and wait. The whole staff was professional and courteous. Dr. Meller administered the test. As usual, he was skilled, accurate and timely. I felt compelled to share my experience after reading some negative reviews. I can only speak on my individual experiences which are all 5 star. I'm rating this a 3 but today was ZERO. Typically my visits are great, been here over 10 times. NOT TODAY. Dr. Wexler needs to retire in my opinion. Absolutely no bed side manner. No explanations or clear answers. I had to repeat myself multiple times and ask questions over and over just trying to gain clarity. I didn't find him to actually care. When trying to give background because it was my 2nd visit (+1 phone call) with their office, he seemed to be uninterested. He put gloves on, touched a bunch of stuff in a closet and drawers, and then proceeded to try and start a woman's exam on me! I left the office crying. I just honestly found him incredibly unprofessional. Will never see him again. DR. BARIGIAN IS AMAZING! He is the first Dr. i saw, but wasn't in today. He is very attentive. He listens, processes, asks questions, explains things. He is thorough, and made me feel extremely comfortable and he had my trust. He is better than my PCP, shhhh.. read more

I want to add my comments to so many others here Dr Meller is a terrible, arrogant doctor. He is rude and condescending and very intimidating. He's belittling, and just plain mean, unfriendly, condescending, and basically a jerk. I read all the reviews before I went to the clinic, but since my regular doctor's office is closed, I had to give in and make an appointment at the med center for an Xray. But I am sure now that I will NEVER go back there if Dr. Meller is on duty. I would recommend that you avoid him at all costs. No one deserves to be treated the way he treats his patients. read more

I have seen Dr. Meller twice at the med center. I knew when it was him on duty I was wasting my time. I saw him Sunday the 12th of May was my second visit and nothing else was available. I knew I didn't want to go to the med center after my first visit with him. I went in with complaints of a sore throat, congestion, eyes red and itchy leaking all day. The pain in my throat would wake me up at night. He took down all my symptoms and told me to gargle aspirin and offered me nothing else. Right after I walked in another patient was complaining about Dr. Meller pushing him out of the officer. I went to my actual PCP on Monday because I couldn't go into work and he gave me a zpak and a medrol dosepak. Today, only 3 days into my zpak course I feel remarkably better. If you don't want to be a doctor and help people don't do it. But don't see people who are sick and make them feel like they are crazy for coming to a doctor for some relief. I knew before I got there they would charge my insurance and my copay and offer me nothing. I will never go back to any of the MedCenters. I hope they go out of business. Worst doctors in Santa Barbara and they can be that way because they are the only urgent care in town open on Sunday's. read more

She started raising her voice at me over the phone so much that I had to tell her to please be patient with me. I know health care providers are stressed by the demands of Covid and I would give this place stars just for that but they don't even deserve one. I went for a Covid screening. Stood in a short line for an hour. Explained my exposure situation, when someone finally got around to me with a clip board, and asked if I could be screened. Yes, but Medicare doesn't cover a non-symptomatic screening. I have supplemental insurance. Great, that will cover it, give us your supplemental insurance card and drivers license and wait in your car and we'll call you for the test. I wait in the car for 30 minutes, then get a text asking me to verify who I am and wanting my insurance information, which I can't fill in because they took my card. Wait outside the front door, finally waylay someone and ask questions. Blah, blah, blah, results in 5-10 days, blah, blah, blah, answer the text, blah, blah, blah, here's your card and you didn't answer the questions in person correctly. Blah, blah blah, I spent over two hours and left. I get that things are busy and medical providers have to be meticulous but this place seemed languid and, on a scale of 1-10 for concern about patient care, they're 0. read more

We went to the Med Center today for the first time with my daughter, who had a sore throat. We appeared as walk-ins, and we waited outside in the shade of an overhang with a couple of other patients until our appointment. Outdoor chairs were provided. When we asked, we were told that the wait might be fifty minutes to an hour, but it turned out to be about 20 min. Dr. Wienpahl was extremely friendly and willing to explain and answer questions. He both checked for physical symptoms of strep and did a swab and standard strep test, which turned out negative. When he mentioned that he could also do a strep culture, though he thought it was unlikely to be useful, we requested one and he took one, telling us that we will be called with results when available. Arrogant asshole with attitude who worked hard to be unkind. I'm frightened, there's a pandemic going on, and I have a uti. Must go into this clinic even though I didn't like them because they could test and prescribe without me having to go to a lab. Labs are very dangerous now. Dr Meller interrupted, belittled and intimidated me as I'm describing my pain, my fear and condition as quickly as I can since he seemed to really not want to be there or offer any help. When I asked him why, he said "well since you know everything, I'm not going to be able to help you". I said I'm frighten and intimidated by this and our visit. He shrugged and said sorry like he was saying so? We literally got into an argument as to why he was so rude. He made it my fault and all I wanted to do was run and cry. Fuck that guy. This is a medical clinic??? I had more questions I had more sensitive things to discuss and ask after but with that kind of dick like behavior, that arrogance, the distain for my inquires and even presence in the room... he may be a good doctor but whatever chip on his shoulder or serious god complex he's acting out has cost him this customer. Do not go here. Over the phone they told us there was no wait time and to head on over. When we arrived there were 5+ people waiting in dingy chairs in the parking lot. After being called in finally, the nurse took my stats and said the doctor will be in shortly. We waited almost two hours until I decided to ask what was up thinking they forgot about us. There wasn't a single nurse or person in sight, I had to hunt someone down and they told me that it would be 20-30 more minutes. After waiting even longer, we decided to go ask for a referral instead. The nurse told us that they closed already and the doctor was nowhere to be found as he's usually "home by now." She also told me he would have been "uncomfortable" anyway doing a breast exam- cherry on top! How professional is that. They were very rude and short, not giving us any updates or anything. The desk workers spoke condescendingly when we wanted to leave. They also didn't mention anything about a refund for the visit which we had to go back and ask for, to which they asked what we were waiting for. That's when she realized we were waiting for the refund. HORRIBLE service. HORRIBLE practice. The rooms aren't nice, saw a worker smoking outside despite a no smoking sign, and all around an unwelcoming place Don't go here, there's so many other and better options with doctors who actually care about you. read more

Dr Meller is very rude, unprofessional, doesn't know how to adequately take a patient history and fails to correctly apply medical knowledge he may have had at some stage to properly diagnose.
