I unfortunately had a very disappointing experience with MMOS. I hired their team to assist with…read morebilling and credentialing for my healthcare organization, and within approximately two weeks, the engagement created significant disruption to our operations. During that short period, there seemed to be substantial confusion among team members. I received repetitive questions about information that had already been provided, encountered work that was not completed properly, and had instances where I was told something had been completed only to later discover that it had not. We also encountered incorrect billing codes and claims submitted to incorrect payers, among other issues that I am now having to identify and correct. From my perspective, there appeared to be a lot of activity and communication, but very little was actually being completed correctly or moving forward. At times, it felt like no one knew which way was up. Instead of reducing the administrative burden on my organization, I found myself spending more time monitoring, clarifying, troubleshooting, and ultimately taking back work that I had hired MMOS to manage. What was particularly concerning was the billing volume involved. At the time, our practice only had approximately 4-6 claims per week, or roughly 20 claims per month. I had allocated six hours per month at $50/hour for these services. Despite the relatively limited claim volume, I was asked to increase the number of monthly hours. I was not comfortable increasing the hours when we were already experiencing problems with claims being submitted incorrectly and were not seeing expected reimbursement from the claims being worked. After approximately two weeks, we agreed that terminating the relationship immediately was the best course of action. MMOS agreed to waive fees for the work completed to date, which I appreciate. What made the conclusion of the relationship particularly disappointing was the transition. I asked for a basic report or summary showing what their team had billed, what they had worked on, and what might need to be corrected so that I could properly take over the account. I was informed that although this information exists within our EHR and billing systems, MMOS would not retrieve, review, compile, reconcile, or provide a transition report without re-engaging their services. Needless to say, after approximately two weeks of disruption, I am now left reviewing the relatively small number of claims they handled to determine what was done, what was submitted incorrectly, and what needs to be fixed. I understand that not every vendor relationship is the right fit, and I appreciate their willingness to terminate the agreement and waive the fees. However, based on my experience with team confusion, repetitive communication, incomplete work, incorrect billing, the request for additional hours despite the limited claim volume and unresolved issues, and the lack of a meaningful transition summary, I was extremely disappointed with my experience and cannot recommend their services. The only reason I am giving two stars instead of one is that, at the very least, I was not charged for the headache and disruption this engagement caused.
