I've been a regular CVS customer and am generally pleased with their service. I've been using…read morethis CVS lately but I've had service issues 3 out of the last 4 times. Today, after learning that a single prescription was called in 9am, I checked the status through the app and was told it would be ready after 4pm. Shortly after 4, the app stated there's been a delay. I called and left message explaining that I needed the prescription and to transfer it to the CVS on N.Highland if there's a problem because I needed to pick it up today. At 4:30, I rec'd a call back and was told "we have it, give me 30 minutes." I went there at 6:30, 90 mins after the updated time it would be ready, only to be told it wasn't ready and would take 30 minutes to fill. Frustrated, I explained what happened. I was told they would expedite it but it if it wasn't ready by 7pm, I would need to wait until tomorrow, which I said was not acceptable. Thankfully, it was ready at 6:55. The person checking me out made no comment about my delay, inconvenience or their service failure. I told her it would be appropriate to at least say I'm sorry for your delay. That would be good service as delays happen and they only had one pharmacist filling prescriptions. Her response was that she wasn't the person who told me the prescription would be ready at 5pm. This was the final straw. I should've stopped using this CVS--as my wife had done 2 yrs ago--but stuck with them because I kept thinking they'd get better. A simple "sorry for your inconvenience" goes a long way and seems like an easy response to a service failure, but that didn't even happen.

The store was poorly lit, and one of the self-checkout machines had a problem with the credit card reader. We found everything we needed and more. Bottom is the basement and top floor goes to street level. After figuring out what to get, I used the self checkout but it was not showing the true sale price. I looked for an employee to help me and the sales associate Derrika was the only one around. She was amazing and helped me at the register. She was able to troubleshoot and figure out why the system was showing the wrong prices pretty quickly. She was also by herself at the moment, had to take a customer call who was rambling on about some issue that has nothing to do with Derrika, and was also actively making sure people around were ok. The pharmacy was experiencing a small, after-work rush of pickups, but the employees worked calmly and efficiently to keep the line moving. Our go-to is the CVS inside the Atlantic Station Target, but they were out of the particular medication needed. Rude, dismissive, and absolutely unwilling to help--exactly the opposite of what you'd expect from someone in a leadership role. Instead of owning up to the failure or offering a solution, they made the situation worse. This was my last straw with CVS. I will never trust or use their services again.
