The ER visit itself wasn't great, but I know what ERs are like. I did take pictures of the blood on…read morethe walls, and I did note that it took 93 minutes for me to talk to a human, but again it was an ER during COVID. Eventually I was seen and checked out and dismissed. The thing is, the radiologist who did my scans that night *also* noticed the advanced-stage cancer spreading through my neck, and made a note that someone should tell me about it. And... nobody did. In the months since, Wellstar/AMC have ignored me and my attempts to reach out through every single path open to me. I heard from them only once, five months after the ER visit, when an unsigned form letter assured me that my "issues" had been resolved with a private internal investigation and that I couldn't be told any more for privacy reasons. Here are pictures of the blood on the walls at AMC's ER. The damage they did to me emotionally I can't photograph.

I came here last night because my dad is preparing for surgery here. This is my 6th or 7th visit…read morehere. In comparison to other Well Star owned hospitals, this is probably one of the worst as far as convenience, cleanliness, and customer service. The parking is inside of a deck, that can run you anywhere between $3 and $10 depending on how long you stay. There are a lot of inconsistencies when you call to ask questions about visitation. The main entrance closes around 7 PM, so if you come afterwards you have to enter through the understaffed Emergency room. Yesterday was completely a nuisance. Imagine this! My son and I stood in a line for 20 minutes just to get a pass to use the elevator to go up through the third floor and visit the ICU unit. I understand the security aspect of it, especially for women that are in the mother baby unit. You don't just want people wandering around. But there has to be a faster way to do it. A few months ago, my dad experienced a heart attack, and the doctors and nurses took WONDERFUL care of him. Unfortunately, he is back because of another issue, and he will be having a surgery on his leg to assist with regulating his blood flow. My boyfriend and his mom arrived around 8:30 last night to meet up and visit (And take turns watching my infant child), I got there at 9:10 PM. By the time I found the correct line, found my way to the third level (after getting lost), It was almost 10 PM. Needless to say every one was frustrated big time. In January, I visited a friend who had a baby boy here. Comparing her room set up to mine at Emory Midtown in Atlanta, I would not recommend having a baby here. The nurses were not personable. The room was a little warm and cramped. When my dad spent about 2 weeks in the hospital for his heart attack, I got to see the ER room, Cardiac ICU Unit rooms, and the standard recovery rooms. The ER and standard rooms are much less comfortable than the ICU rooms. It also appears that the doctors and nurses are much nicer in the ICU level versus the ER, mother baby unit, and the standard post operation level. Bottom Line, If it is an emergency, and you have no where else , then use this hospital but to me it is one of the LAST choices when it comes to convenience and customer service. It seems that this hospital needs a face lift too, because the building and equipment is a little outdated, and this includes the food court area. This location has a Blimpie and a Chickfila. The Doctors helped to save my dad's life, so I am appreciative of that. They are SLOW once you enroll at the emergency room (whether visiting or there for pain). But, the paramedics move quickly.

This is one of the most clean and proficient hospitals I have ever been in. I was there waiting…read morefor my girlfriends surgery. They give you a buzzer which is what keeps you updated through the surgery wait. The buzzer makes it easy for them to discretely let you know that you are needed at the front desk for an update. Normally I am a germaphobe but this hospital was so clean (at least on the surgery side) that I had no issues with feeling like I was covered in germs. The inside is well lit, especially after the sun comes up. There are plenty of plug in outlets for phones or other technology. Lulu's Cafe has some great food that is not overpriced. I had the breakfast sandwich and it was huge. I was full for over half the day. The cafe offers a lot of different options. There is an older gentleman named Paul who walks around asking if anyone needs anything or has any questions. He was there when we went in for post op and there when we were waiting for the surgery. It's nice to have someone to offer assistance when you are stressed, waiting during a loved ones surgery. The short stay rooms are clean and the nurses are very understanding and kind. My girlfriend ended up being the last patient on the hall but they never got pushy. They let her wake up and accomplish her goals to leave as she felt like she could. They are very attentive. If they tell you they will be back in ten minutes, they will be back in ten minutes. Everyone was friendly from the front desk employees to the nurses and anesthesiologist.
