The doctor and nurse that put my stitches in were wonderful! Great care! The receptionist was horrible and when I went back eleven days later the receptionist was much better and I had to pay another $50 to get my stitches out because I should have been there in 10 days. Yet they never communicated that clearly and never offered to set up an appointment for me to return. So while the original nurse and doctor were wonderful the front office help is extremely lacking! read more

I had one simple question about adipex (A weight loss pill I had been prescribed at a different location), and she acted like I was so stupid and she had never heard of anything like that. The front desk staff made eye contact with me in line and told me to step out, informing me that she would "get back to [me]." She did not. Instead, she triaged another person who arrived after me. To clarify, this person was not visibly ill or unwell-appearing, so this decision was certainly not based on acuity. When I presented myself again, the woman at the front desk made no effort to apologize for singling me out and thus leading to a delay in my care. Not sure why I was cast aside and others who arrived later were given priority over me. read more

Wow, closes at 8:00 but wouldn't take us at 7:15 because their SYSTEM only allows a certain number of appointments. At an URGENT CARE. we were in real distress, not ER distress, but something fully within their scope. No Can't do anything about it she said. Just the messenger she said. So shameful. So uncaring. Went to Baptist Urgent care after that. They told us their doctor was due to leave shortly to go to a shift at the hospital and they would check to see if they could stay. They did! Compassion and competence. Thank you so much Baptist Urgent care. Never again Med Express. Oh and seen by an MD at Baptist. PA at Med Express. No comparison. We tried to schedule a telehealth appointmeet in which we were initially able to do. I received a phone call prior to the visit in which Jackie in the Little Rock location went straight into the fact that I had made a mistake and went on for about 30 seconds about needing to cancel the appointment without asking questions, verifying my information, asking questions, asking my name, etc. I would think this would be a HIPPA violation. This is the worst urgent care I have ever been to. The hours of operation on their website is 8am to 8pm. When I arrived here at 7:15 after working a 12-hr shift, the lady at the front desk said they are all booked up for tonight and I need to make an appointment for tomorrow. (No one is in the waiting one, but 3 patients are in the back according to the clerk). When I mentioned to her the hours of operations on their website, she stated yes but if you are a walk-in, those hours does not apply to you. This urgent care need to change their hours of operation on their website because clearly this is not 100% accurate. read more

my husband went to urgent care last Thursday on chenal with what I thought was a sinus infection. They saw him said he was extremely vlogged, gave him sample meds and called in Rx. He started feeling some better. On Saturday I looked at meds. They called in an antihistamine. No antibiotic. REALLY. Today he feels like crap again and all stopped up. He told me that they ASK him when he went in if he wanted a flu test and COVID test. Of course he said no. They ask my husband who is medical as a wood post if he WANTED to be tested. So now he is headed back and we have wasted 4 days. And I'm grumpy. my family has had an excellent experience with this urgent care before this. read more

I was honestly not looking forward to visiting an urgent care for a simple pre-employment drug screen. I've done this many times for contracts and have visited other urgent cares with less than stellar experiences. At this location everyone I encountered from check in to screening was friendly and professional. The location is very clean and easily accessible. I was finished and back in my car in under 45 minutes during their morning rush. I would definitely revisit this location in the future. read more

The billing department for this clinic is the WORST. They wasted my time for SEVEN months incorrectly billing with my insurance a simple visit (or at times forgetting). Towards the end of the debacle, several people told me I would not have to pay and that they were fixing it, then suddenly one day on an awful call, another billing person said I had to... then he had the nerve to end the call with "have a good day". When I told him how rude it was given the situation, he responded that he is "required to say that". They finally broke me....and I gave up and paid something I should not have. Front desk girl less than welcoming. She was eating at the counter which is gross and in healthcare is something that shouldn't be done. Was more worried about getting my credit card on file than anything. Acted like I was challenging her when I asked for confirmation that I would be informed PRIOR to any charges. Tried to tell me my insurance shows as a Medicare supplement. Obviously not the sharpest tool as they say. Showed no knowledge or desire to troubleshoot, nor would she call to verify benefits because she "has no way to change it in the system". I work in healthcare and this girl needs educated in appropriate behavior in front office setting. I'm from Phoenix and this is unacceptable service. read more

We were on vacation - on our way down to TX. Our daughter developed a cough along the way, so we decided to stop at an urgent care. The folks at MedExpress (Stacy and Vicky) made us and our daughter feel so at-ease and comfortable. They provided their services so gracefully and with care as if they were treating their own family member. So thankful to have met these kind folks. read more

The nurses where awesome. The provider Amy however was not. I came in due to a rash on bilateral hands. I noticed it flares up when I'm working due to the hand soap I believe and frequent washing. She told me to use cervue diabetic lotion for a rash. I am no provider but I definitely have experience in healthcare. I asked if I could have some type of steroid cream because I've had to use that in the past. Instead of explaining her reasoning when she walked out of the room she began to make smart remarks as if I could not hear here in the exam room. Very unprofessional. read more

While trying to find a good PCP, in between the time, my son and I have come to this clinic for mostly sinus infections. Arkansas nature hates us. However I can say; I wish so much the staff here as well as the Medical assistants/LPNs, then APN and the doctor we have seen (or have been seen by) had a clinic for PCP. I've always been treated kindly as well as having my concerns addressed. This is coming from a former medical professional (and we only go have ourselves looked at when we are on the brink of death). The last time I came in, I was weighing on Emergency room (which is for Emergencies) versus urgent care. They are quick, they listen, and also take time to come up with a great treatment plan as well as recommendations for follow up care. My PCP is in another city; hence the transition of finding another. In the meantime, if you need help, this place is where you should go get help. There are some bogus ratings about this clinic that do not make sense (especially a guy wanting to have a medication dispensed without an office visit, tsk tsk). As a former medical worker, it really isn't allowed and it is also called insurance fraud. read more

First one sent me to a orthopedic clinic that didn't do walk ins only schedule which was bogus considering that there was only 2 patients waiting. Empty clinic, yet still took the NP 30-45 minutes to come see us. What was the other pressing issue? They were discussing as a group how to find a specific American Girl doll. I thought for sure that's just the nurses talking in their down time, but come to find out, the one with the most distinctive voice was the NP, was leading the conversation. How do I know? She stood at our door and continued to turn back to talk for another few minutes before entering. The door and walls are paper thin. We could hear everything. Infuriating. Where's the customer service? If this was any other type of business it would close down. It just unfortunate that the hold the power of prescriptions. And it's obviously abused. No fear of losing their jobs or being reprimanded. I hope this gets back to upper management but I have a feeling it will just fall on the deaf ears of Yelp... At the very least, if you're gonna talk about normal water cooler stuff at least do it while people that are in pain or uncomfortable aren't able to hear. Very unprofessional. read more

the hours are 8-8 the front desk lady turned me around and it was 7:25pm on a friday only one other car besides mine was in the parking lot besides the 5 workers there was no one in the lobby and she told me they weren't seeing anymore ppl and that i could schedule an appoint online for the next day or comeback in and proceeded to tell me the hours. i will be calling to speak with a supervisor and reporting to the bbb if you don't like the hours or your job get a new one read more

The only reason I didn't give five stars is that I am relaying the consensus of opinions shared by Parkway Village Independent Living residents. From time to time, there is a need that requires medical expertise but doesn't warrant the extended wait time of local hospital emergency rooms and exposure to 'bugs' that are contagious. I came in on the 4th of July with horrible tonsils/ throat pain. Even though it was a holiday everyone there treated me kindly. The nurses where thorough with checking me in and taking my vitals. The doctor, Dr. Matthew Jennings, really taking his time to make sure he wasn't missing anything that could show him what was wrong. He diagnosed me with strep throat and gave me a steroid shot to help get the swelling down in my tonsils, just so I could have something more then sips of hot water. I had to wait ten minutes so they could make sure I wasn't having a reaction to the shot, that was the longest wait time of the whole appointment. I had to take my 87 y.o. mother in because she had fallen and needed stitches. After first calling another nearby convenient care facility in west Little Rock who put me into a voice recording that kept telling me I was the first caller in line but no one every answered the phone (not a good sign), I decided to try MedExpress. What a great choice. Granted, we were the only ones in the clinic when we arrived, but things could not have gone more smoothly and I couldn't have been more pleased. The clinic was very nice and clean. Check-in was fast. The staff...all of them from the front desk to the doctor...were friendly and helpful. The doctor and nurse were both GREAT with my elderly mother who has a hard time communicating. Dr. Avramescu was excellent. She took time with us and explained things well. The nurse called us less than an hour after we left the appointment to give us the results of an x-ray. This is just one data point, and it might be different if they were really busy, but what a refreshing experience. Unlike so many clinics today, people actually acted like they cared and maybe even enjoyed their work. If you have a bad experience, it doesn't seem likely it will be because they aren't trying. I've not had that great of an opinion of "doc-in-a-box" clinics. But MedExpress on Chenal was great. I would use them again and would recommend them. read more

I took my wife here to get tested for the flu. After the doctor diagnosed her and decided to prescribe her oseltamivir (Tamiflu), I asked if he would also write me a prescription so I could use it to prevent myself from getting the flu (this is the way the drug is most effective and should be taken if possible). Although the doctor was nice enough, he told me that he was not allowed to write me a prescription, even though he is well aware that he should from a medical perspective, and he suggested I call a "family friend" to see if they would write a prescription for me. He said MedExpress wouldn't allow him to write for any other family members. I don't recommend a clinic that doesn't allow their doctors to provide proper care to patients and their families. Seemed like a money grab if you ask me. read more

Absolutely awful experience with not just this MedExpress but all iterations of this institution I have had the misfortune of visiting. This visit was the last straw though, and I will now tell everyone I know to stay as far away from this place as humanly possible. My wife has terrible strep throat infection because I trusted the care of this place. My wife went in with a sore throat and white patches all over her tonsils. She was diagnosed with the early stages of strep throat. She was then prescribed an antibiotic and sent home. After taking the medicine for two and half days her symptoms were getting much worse. I called the clinic as they instructed if her symptoms got worse. I was told to take her to the emergency room and to wait longer for the medicine to work. We waited and her symptoms got worse and worse. She called the next afternoon as she had a high fever, she was in extreme pain, and she was scared. The nurse staff informed her that she couldn't speak with the doctor and that the doctor had left a note for them that if my wife had called again to just tell her to go to the emergency room and that they couldn't do anymore for her. They told her not to come back to MedExpress that they wouldn't do anymore for her. She called me upset and so i left work early and took her to a different doctor to get a competent opinion. The other doctor told us that it was one of the worst strep infections he had ever seen and that the medicine she had been taking wasn't going to ever help her. He then prescribed and something stronger and gave her a shot of antibiotics and a steroid. Within hours she was feeling better. MedExpress is clean and the staff is kind but the medical care is sub par and doctors are incompetent. We will never go there ever again. read more

Everyone was nice and i didn't have to wait to see the doctor. I was in and out in 30 minutes, which probably would have been less if i wasn't a new patient. On Saturday April 29th 2016 I had a minor fall at a construction site. I slipped on my side and caught my fall on my arm. Though my arm and leg hurt, I was more concerned about the cut above my eyebrow, which was the result of shard of tile lying around - I thought I may have needed stitches. I called the Med Express Clinic on Chenal Parkway ahead to confirm that there was a doctor on staff, and drove over to get examined and treated. I would like to make it clear that during the accident there was no blow to my head. I knew that I did not require a trip to the ER or a CT scan of any kind. I came to this clinic for what should have been a quick, simple treatment, and ended up with a whole lot of wasted time and no treatment whatsoever. Though the clinic was clean, the waiting room was comfortable, and the administrative staff were nice, THE DOCTOR, (Barbara Perry) WAS A COMPLETE NIGHTMARE. I have never in my life come across a doctor with such horrible bedside manners. She was rude, she was abrupt, she was accusatory and she was offensive. Even after I explained to her how the accident happened, reiterating over and over that there was no blow to my head, she still accused me of lying and refused to even examine me. First of all, who would lie about something so serious? A head injury is not something to take lightly. But a minor cut which I believed may have required a couple of stitches is not grounds for the ER, which is where she told me to go. After being spewed out of the doctor's office, I begrudgingly drove myself to the ER where I met with more than one doctor who both laughed off the cut above my head. Turns out that I did not need stitches at all. But the real issue was with my arm. I had fractured it. This injury was completely overlooked by the doctor at the clinic because she refused to even examine my arm. I want to be clear that it wasn't just Dr Perry's refusal to examine me that made the experience so terrible - maybe it's her personal protocol, or maybe she doesn't feel comfortable doing in-office stitches. It was her inappropriate behavior and awful bedside manner that really threw me off. This person should not be in the business of helping people. And to make the experience worse, when I walked out of the office requesting a number for their corporate branch so I could make sure that I was not charged for a visit where I was refused even a basic examination, they made me wait 30 minutes for the number. The administrative staff kept quietly apologizing for the doctor's inappropriate conduct. It was clear to me based on the administrative staff's reaction that this doctor has a bad history/reputation. UPDATE: after being told by the admin that I would not be charged for the visit as I did not receive any treatment and was referred to the emergency room (which cost me a lot more) they have billed my insurance $210 and I received a letter from a credit agency demanding payment of an additional $50 or my credit will be impacted. I am in the process of disputing this, but the head ache of it all is far worse than any injury I had. I understand this is a business, however, I recommend going elsewhere if you are ever in the unfortunate position of needing urgent care. read more

I am going to another urgent care closer to my house. (Went here while on vacation). Doctor did not care how much pain I was in and said "he couldn't justify any additional meds" since my strep was negative. I cannot even swallow. I feel horrible and needed some relief not a diagnosis of a "virus". read more
