Tools were unsanitary, equipment was outdated. Didn't even have a spit dish ( I was like ummm okay? ) tells me she's going to do half the work I have a prescription for, the office odly only had 2 people working in it and doctor was hanging out with the front desk person when I arrived ? ( unprofessional) when I finally got examined I kid you not upon entering my mouth her tools were outdated , yellow and had an aftertaste of fish ( sign of uncleansliless) she probably never cleaned her tools from the last patient , further more she does a " test " on my teeth taking the back of a tool, hammered on my teeth with the back of the tool which I don't even think you are supposed to use on a bare tooth especially with force, I felt like she was trying to hurt me, knocking my sensitive faulty temporary filling out of place more than it already is, so I entered her office thinking I was going to get progress done but I left her office in pain with my mouth smelling like fish and feeling unsanitary she was not nice to me and my sister when she informed us that she wasn't going to do all of the work that was assigned to her on the paper only half fast forward I look up reviews I see a review that says " she banged on my teeth hard with the tools " tears streamed from my eyes as I knew I was a victim from this horrible lost outdated mediocre person that is passing themselves off as a reputable doctor BEWARE read more

I was greeted with a warm smile. Then placed in a dental seat promptly at the appointment time. Each person involved with my care was attentive and efficient. Dr. Marmo proceeded to numb my normally numb skull to prevent pain from the high-pitched air-driven drill. She waited ample time for it to work as intended. Her assistant was prompt with providing the proper rotating bits that were needed to clean out the nerve. Questions I asked were answered in a way that I understood what was being done. All the workers there seemed to enjoy my jokes. Always remember the following. "Laughter is the best medicine". Since I'm old with poor hearing, the following is very important. Speak with slightly raised volume. Speak slower and keep your sentences short and easy to comprehend. These things will be a big help in communicating important details to the patient. I knew I needed a root canal, but wasn't sure I could get it done due to everything shut down at the moment, but the pain got really bad so I had to do something about it. I called Medford Endodontics and they got me in the next day. I was worried to say the least, partly because my wife had had a couple of root canals at other places and had a terrible time. As they started working on my tooth I kept expecting the painful part to start, but the next thing I knew I'm being told they were done. I couldn't believe it! Once the local wore off I realized how much pain I was living with and how amazed I was that I no longer had to deal with it. The staff is very kind and I had one of the best dental experiences at Medford Endodontics. Dr. Basseghi's exam and root canal procedure were very thorough and comfortable. She made sure that all concerns/questions were addressed, and I had minimal to no pain following root canal. I got the fastest root canal treatment ever and it was cheap. It took Dr. Mark Wang less than 50 mins to complete it--very impressive I though. Then, I went back to my primary dentist to get a crown on that tooth, but my dentist refused to put it on due to an infection on the tooth that Dr. Mark Wang worked on. I went back to see Dr. Mark Wang and explained the situation. First, he said I waited too long to put a crown on it. (I waited too long? I couldn't get a crown put on because my primary dentist wouldn't put a crown on a tooth with a poor root canal job!) Second, Dr. Mark Wang said in an unprofessional manner, "Go ahead.... Tell your dentist he can put a crown on it?" He was very sympathetic and kind the first time he saw me. When I went back to see him regarding an issue, he turned really rude in a matter of seconds! I went to a more trusted endodontist at a practice accredited by the BBB and my tooth is better. I also requested that this practice would send the payment back to my insurance provider (for their shabby work). They refused. If they change their minds, I will gladly remove this review. Lesson learned. Go to a trusted and reputable endodontics practice that are associated with one or more of the following: BBB(Better Business Bureau), MDS(Massachusetts Dental Society), AAE (American Dental Association of Endodontists) and the list goes on. Although no one enjoys getting route canals, Dr. Wang and the staff at Medford Endodontics are very helpful. The assistant at the desk is always very pleasant and easy to talk to, and Dr. Wang and his assistant help put patients at ease. The endodontist (Dr Wang) does a very good job. The problem arises with his billing practices. I have insurance, yet he insists on trying to charge more than what he has agreed to accept by the insurance company (I have a closed plan, which means that the rates are set) . I would not recommend using him unless you want to deal with this aggravation. read more

Came here for a root canal in a lower tooth - these have always been more sensitive for me so I knew it was going to be rough and wanted to bring a friend to help ease me through it. After being scoffed at by Dr. Alan Tang at Advanced Dental (who flat out refused to let me bring someone in the room because I was "too old for that", even though there's an additional chair in the office specifically for the purpose of having someone else there - he said that was typically reserved for children, and more or less ridiculed me for wanting such a thing as an adult) I had to walk out of that appointment. I then made an appointment at Medford Endodontics who were able to fit me in right away even on short notice, and who assured me it was fine if I wanted to have someone else in the room for comfort during the procedure. Dr. Wang was incredibly kind and reassuring. He knew I was nervous about the procedure being painful, and took extra time to let the local anesthetic do it's job before working on me. Throughout the procedure he explained everything he was doing, and never once made me feel foolish for being nervous, the way Tang did. I'd definitely come back here for any future work and would recommend Dr. Wang to anyone who is nervous about the procedure. Thank you, Dr. Wang! read more

I rarely write Yelp reviews but after the most horrifying experiences I've ever had in my life for dental work, I had to warn others. PLEASE READ if you're planning on any dental work with Dr. Wang. I'm writing this months after the work after getting alternative opinions and making sure Dr. Wang could not continue to charge my insurance. This all happened between September and early November of 2016. My personal dentist recommended Dr. Wang after a possible root canal showed up on a routine x-ray. On the first appointment, Dr. Wang gave a very quick consultation- which was just saying to me: "This only takes an hour." So, really...no consultation. It was incredibly rushed and after just a quick x-ray, he decided I had a root canal issue. Note: he marked on my records that he conducted a cold test and this never occurred. I found this out from another Endodontist who reviewed my records. No other evaluation was done at all. Also note: My tooth had zero pain, was not discolored and when asked if I had any trauma to the tooth, I mentioned that I feel on swing set at age 5. Dr. Wang seemed to think this was the cause. Now, that I've had another opinion, my new endodontist noted that a dental trauma at age 5 would NOT affect a tooth for someone in their 30's.... I've discovered that while there might have been a small indication on an x-ray to do a root canal, Dr. Wang did not take the steps necessary before working on it and quickly went into drilling. For one tooth, that might have not have even needed a root canal, I had THREE separate and incredibly painful drilling sessions with very little clear communication from Dr. Wang other than "this is not as bad as other patients." I found his style aggressive and as a patient, I expect communication that is clear about what is happening. I ended up calling my original dentist to get a better explanation. Each drilling session caused some severe damage to my tooth and the xrays could clearly show the tooth was left to nothing but a shell. Dr. Wang said that my tooth was "calcified" - which meant he should have gone directly to surgery after the first attempt at drilling- but he continued long sessions of drilling that left a giant hole in my tooth. After 3 long and drawn out drilling sessions, I had an apicoectomy surgery with Dr. Wang, which what I know now, I should have absolutely gone somewhere else. This means, the giant hole he just drilled in my tooth was completely for nothing. To be clear- he NEVER once said the word "apicoectomy"- just that it was "surgery" and that I could "loose the tooth." I had to call to talk to someone at the front desk about what this really was. More consultation from the front desk than him... The surgery was by far one of the most painful experiences I've ever had- including an appendicitis. After what Dr. Wang called "just two stitches," I left with a mouth full of stitches and blood, looking more closely to Frankenstein. He roughly scraped the bottom row of my gums off my teeth like an ice scraper and at one point I was choking on blood. Everything seemed completely out of protocol- from the aggressive way he ripped my gums down, to how he hit my top tooth with an instrument causing pain on my top mouth for almost a week. Even having me sign a consent form AFTER the procedure, while dizzy with unbearable pain and on my way out the door. Within one week, my tooth turned completely blue and now, after more than 3 months, my gums still look completely mangled. The pain medication Dr. Wang prescribed caused me to become very sick and the mouth wash caused the rest of teeth to turn yellow, which he never mentioned was a side effect. Again- no communication. I was horrified beyond belief over what had happened. Luckily, Dr. Wang offered to pay for whitening and a filling/cap with my original dentist as my experience was so awful. While I absolutely appreciate that and it temporarily helped the color of my tooth, I found out later from another Endodontist that my tooth was still pretty damaged. I'm pretty upset that this could result in future loss of my tooth from this surgery. Dr. Wang agreed to not charge me for the Apicoectomy since the entire process was so incredibly horrifying- but I later found he maxed our my dental insurance for the year. It took weeks into December dealing with my insurance and Dr. Wang's office to get this issue resolved. I'm currently working with another Endodontist to monitor my tooth damage and might need to have repairs done in the next few months. I'm hoping I don't loose my tooth. Overall, I beg whoever reads this to consider a more careful, well reviewed, Endodontist. I went from a white tooth/normal gums to a blue tooth with distorted gums. As someone who has only had a few cavities in my entire lifetime, I didn't think to look at reviews ahead. I urge you to find another endodontist who is more well known, demonstrates care about quality, and better reviewed by more people. read more

OKAY - I NEVER write reviews, and if on the rare occasion I do it's usually for really bad service, but I had to write one for Medford Endodontics. I am super nervous when it comes to pain and when I realized I had to get a root canal I almost pasted out. So I was understandably scared when it came to getting it done. Gerald Leiber was amazing. Great bedside manner, didn't guilt me like other dentist do about being in the situation I currently found myself in, but just kept me at ease during the entire procedure, cracking jokes, telling stories. It was like your grandpa, but with expert endodontic knowledge. I was freaking out about the all the pain I had heard I was to expect and Dr. Leiber was honestly done before I knew anything major had happened. I kept on thinking 'Ok I can handle this, when is the big needle thing gonna happen' and then all of a sudden he's like 'all done!' All done? what - really? it's over?! When I finished paying for my bill (which was way cheaper than any other place I had been quoted for) the lady at the counter said "See that was the worst part." And she was totally right. I don't know what he does but that was the most pain-free root canal I had ever experienced. I would gladly recommend him to anyone. read more

Had a root canal on my front #4 tooth by Dr. Leiber and I'm EXTREMELY dental-phobic and it was done in about 35 minutes. I didn't feel the Novacaine needle at all - not even any pressure as he applied it. I closed my eyes and it was done and over in a short time without ANY pain at all. I had one other root canal done and it was not painless. I was in there for 2 possible root canals and Dr. Leiber said that the other tooth could most likely get by with just a filling so he's definitely not out to do unnecessary work and take your money. He was also very personable and funny - the type of person you would want to go and have a few drinks with after your root canal. I will submit another review if I have any issues with this tooth such as infections or my primary dentist mentions that the root canal wasn't thorough. As of this writing (March 5, 2014) I had a great experience with Dr Leiber and I would recommend him to anyone. Quick and painless and my mouth didn't hurt afterward from the Novacaine needles either. read more

I had a root canal procedure done by Dr. Mark Wang and I would have to say I did not like it. Though he was reassuring to me before the procedure, I felt like he was really rough throughout the procedure and it was rushed. Towards the end I felt like I was burned with one of his hot tools. He casually cast it aside and said it was "only for a second" when I bought it up to his attention. I don't appreciate that at all. Not to mention he was very arrogant to his assistant (Alice- whom I think is a sweetheart along with his secretary, Baron (?)) I will not be seeing Dr. Wang again nor would I recommend Dr. Wang to anyone. read more

I had a very positive experience getting a root canal done by Dr. Wang. I have a lot of dental anxiety and a hard time getting completely numb - probably related! I had a filling done that was painful to get, which later cracked. Earlier in the day my dentist tried to re-do the filling but it was too painful to drill and she sent me to Dr. Wang's office for a same-day root canal. By this point I was terrified and having a small panic attack in the dentist's chair. Dr. Wang and his staff were so nice to me, and did everything they could to help me feel more comfortable. Dr. Wang even brought me a hot chocolate because I was cold and had not eaten much that day. He was very reassuring that he is an expert in root canals and would make sure it did not hurt. No one made me feel embarrassed for being an adult having really bad anxiety about the root canal. The actual procedure was stressful at first but ended up being completely okay. He was able to get me very numb, which dentists have a hard time doing, and the drilling was not bad at all. At one point I felt a tiny bit of pain and they added some more anesthetic. I was surprised by how quickly they got the nerve out of my tooth, and after that I relaxed a lot (Dr. Wang told me that since the nerve was out I should not feel any pain). Getting the canals cleaned out is a strange, uncomfortable feeling but he worked quickly and the whole thing was over in under an hour. There was some pain as the anesthetic wore off, but now it's the next morning and I only have a tiny bit of soreness from the anesthetic injection. I guess time will tell how my tooth holds up after I get the crown placed, but assuming that all turns out okay, I would highly recommend this office to anyone. It feels weird to give a five-star rating to my root canal, but I was very happy with the experience. read more

Needed my first root canal - not bad for being 55! My health care provider referred me to Dr. Leiber at Medford Endodontics. Seamless setup of the first appointment, worked well with my schedule. The office is simple, but clean and well-organized. Dr. Leiber was genuinely friendly and professional. He didn't waste my time and diagnosed my need quickly and professionally - root canal on tooth 14. He wasn't pushy or judgmental - he just let me know what was needed and what I could expect. He took time to explain the process and the price was fare - I have a copay. The actual root canal - which some of my friends said was going to be traumatic, went very well. Very brief wait in the waiting room, friendly and helpful staff. Didn't feel the Novocaine shot, and when I had some discomfort during the procedure Dr. Leiber quickly and effectively eliminated it. In and out in around 30-minutes - just what I wanted. Recovery was good - no swelling, no pain or discomfort. As of the next day (3/19) I have no sensitivity in that tooth, I'm back at work and ready for the next step - a crown at my local Aspen Dental. read more

I give it a 1 as zero isn't an option! They are the most unprofessional people I have ever met. All about money you can not even see the dr without over paying for what there agreed upon insurance price is . They take your payment first then work on you so my feeling is if I needed more the rude unprofessional desk help would have been in looking for my card for more money . I paid double what it should have been to walk in , I'm sure I'm not alone on this but when I contacted my Ins co was told they did over charge and would have to call them for a refund I did and was told until insurance pays us we can't pay you ! I instructed them they have a contract with insurance and that I needed my money back they refused 3 times now so there's my complaint check with your insurance company as they are robbing you I'm sure !
