She looked at the appointment book and said this is on us. Which was fine. Then as she's cleaning my teeth, she said next time you cannot have a cleaning because there was one tooth that needed deep cleaning. I thought that was bizarre. So, I said to the receptionist I am not making another appointment. well, as it turned out I needed a tooth pulled. So, I did have the tooth removed. I paid $192 for the extraction. I decided to find another dentist. I went there to have my records transferred. Two weeks after I went to transfer records. I was sent a bill for another $254 for the extraction. These expenses occurred in September and October 2025. Seems odd to me that they are sending a bill in March 2026. I definitely do not recommend this place.

My initial appointment went well, I liked Dr. Guze although he did say I needed way more work done than another periodontist. I scheduled 2 surgeries, and took out a 7,000 loan to pay for it. Communication with the office was awful though. I could not get people to call or respond to emails regarding an explanation of the surgery and insurance information. A week before my first surgery in September, I get a call that the Dr has a family emergency and they need to reschedule. I am rescheduled for my surgeries 2 months out, November and January. Today, 10 days before my surgery, Cheri calls me again to tell me Dr Guze has to reschedule! WTF? Absolutely ridiculous, apparently he had a conflict in his work schedule. Now I need to go through the hassle of finding another periodontist. DO NOT GO HERE!

Dr. Lu broke my tooth while replacing a crown. Needless to say that led to complications and expenses on my part. Dr. Lu also said that I have a cavity she needs to work on, which after I consulted with another dentist turned out it wasn't cavity at all. Piece of advice - there are plenty of good dental offices out there, Dental Care of Wilmington is not one of them.

My son in particular has a few sensory issues, and hated his last dentist (ironically a pediatric dentist) so much he still comments whenever we drive past that office. He has never objected to going to see Dr. Biondo, even when he needed a filling. I started seeing her when my prior dentist suddenly recommended that I get all my back teeth crowned. In addition to doing good work, she does not overtreat. The turnover of hygenists and office staff has been almost none in the last five years. I appreciate seeing the same people, and also appreciate that the office is well-run. I've never been part of a practice with such low turnover and I think it makes a big difference in patient care.
