The office called to ask me if I could come earlier because he had cancellations. I accommodated that and got out of work early to go there. After all that, the dentist spent a total of 5 minutes explaining the procedure to me and when I called to get a copy of my xrays to go elsewhere for a second opinion they said they would charge me $225 just for a copy of my xrays. I am not letting anyone perform surgery on me who can't spend more than 5 minutes with me. And to charge me $225 for xrays that you literally put on a $5 thumb drive is ridiculous. read more

As good of an endodontist as you'll be able to find! I came recently to get a root canal on tooth 25 (one of the center bottom teeth). The procedure was quoted at $1350, but Dr. Nasseh reduced to $1300 because I didn't have insurance. The waiting area is pleasant (there's even a fridge with drinks), and the receptionists are courteous. The doctor and his assistant were both very nice, helpful, and patient, and they gave me a lot of time and didn't make me feel rushed at all. The doctor injected the anesthetic a little bit at a time so that it wouldn't hurt as much. I didn't feel any pain at all. The procedure took 1.5 hours. Would recommend this practice to others! read more

I love love love this place. If I could give more stars I would! I love Dr. NASSEH! He is so nice and very knowledgeable. He did 2 RCTs first time (took me as a emergency first time patient during COVID) and did 2 more after 2 months or so. The RCT were not only done excellent with a great precision but also fast! The stuff is very nice and Jill is a sweetheart. She accommodate the schedule make sure patients are happy. She puts everyone in her own shoes and goes above and beyond for patients. Such a loverly office and such a warm welcoming staff. If you are looking for a doctor who will do an excellent job on your RCT, this is the one! I am, sadly, going to disrupt the chain of 5 stars. I was in need of two root canals after an accident and decided to go with Dr. Nasseh. His office was part of the Aetna Vital Savings (meaning two root canals cost = $1, 400) and I had to take advantage of that. The receptionist was very very nice and patient as I sorted out my billing issues. She gave me medicine before the procedure and told me root canals are a piece of cake. I sat down and Dr. Nasseh didn't really talk a lot about the procedure. I was confused and didn't know what to expect. I just went in, opened my mouth and before I knew it I was having two root canals done. It was quick, almost painless (I am anxious about shots...very). The assistant during procedure was ok. I was holding my essex retainer on my chest and neither offered to put it aside until after the procedure. I wish my experience was as amazing as others' but sadly, it was not. Luckily, I don't have to return for sometime and hopefully won't need more root canals in the future. read more

I am only 26, yet I've had 20 years of fillings, crowns and root canals. By the time I was 6, I already had 6 cavities. So by the time I'm 26, my mouth has seen a LOT of dentists. A LOT. So I know my stuff when I say, Dr. Nasseh is SO SO SO SO SO FANTASTIC. I rather have a root canal than a filling or a crown or anything else if everyone can be as efficient as Dr. Nasseh. Granted, he ONLY does root canals all day long, so let's be honest, he's got his stuff down! Let's talk EFFICIENCY first: His entire office works like clockwork. From the minute you walk in, to the minute you leave, things work at the most efficient pace I've ever seen any doctor's office do. The whole thing was one hour. One hour includes coming in, sitting down in the chair, getting the anesthesia, doing the whole drilling and shenanigans, paying, filling out a little survey, and even going to the bathroom. BAM so efficient. In fact, I noticed by the time I closed my mouth and the Doctor goes, "you're done", the assistant had already cleaned up. By the time I got my jacket on, it was as spotless and unmoved as I had got there originally. By the time I walked out into the reception to pay, the receptionist had my prescription for antibiotics, a patient survey and a little sheet about what to expect after a root canal - all ready and waiting on the counter. PROCEDURE: This will be my 4th root canal. Well, actually, technically, it was a root canal RE-treatment, meaning that Dr. Nasseh was working on a tooth that already had a root canal many years ago. Not that any of my past root canals have been painful (just one because the stupid doctor didn't give me enough anesthesia), but Dr. Nasseh gave me a LOT of anesthesia. More so than I've gotten from any dentists, ever. But that just means you feel NOTHING. Zero. Zip. In fact, I got kinda bored. I was staring at the ceiling TV watching CNN and sorta almost half dozed off and half day-dreaming. It's that chill. The drilling wasn't even anything, if you are somebody that hates the sound. I didn't get any earphones, but I think you can probably request earphones and an episode of a TV show. But I really was pretty much zoned out and it was surprisingly comfortable. Dr. Nasseh has these crazy big microscopes that he looks down into your mouth from and works from there, which I thought was cool. He's really big on technology from what I read from his website and using the most up-to-date technological advances, so I think that's just great! The actual procedure itself was probably 20 or so minutes. Dr. Nasseh is very fast AND painless. I personally also didn't feel anything after the anesthesia wore off either. STAFF: Dr. Nasseh is a super chill guy. I get a very calm, relaxed mood from him. And he's really friendly and asks you questions about yourself and is as nice as can be! I really liked him. The receptionist is a WONDERFULLY SWEET WOMAN. She was soooo great and gave me some advil before the procedure and you also get this cute little toothbrush/chapstick/toothpaste KIT when you leave! It's like getting a prize from the dentist! It's like we're 5 years old again! I like it. PRICE: Yes, yes, root canals are expensive. They can be anywhere between $500-$1500. My root canal retreatment is the higher end because it's a RE-treatment. A normal root canal at a regular non-sketchy endodontist really should be around $800-$1000 without insurance. I had a root canal once done for $500 and it was the most traumatizing experience of my life. That experience is the exact reason why people have these ideas about painful root canals. But the same time, it was no coincidence that the doctor was cheap as hell for a root canal. So I would not suggest anybody going somewhere cheap. Plus I think the $500 root canal was on the same tooth that Dr. Nasseh had to RE-DO many years later, so money wise, just go to a good person you can trust! And Dr. Nasseh is that person! OH, and the next day, Dr. Nasseh's office calls to ask how you are doing! read more

I was referred to Dr. Nasseh by my wife who had used him in the past. All of these positive reviews are absolutely 100% consistent with my experience - A+. First I went in for a consultation after my general dentist insisted that I needed a root canal to stop some "resorption" in my #19 molar. The general dentist wanted his in-office guy to perform the procedure, but I elected to go see Dr Nasseh instead. Boy, I'm glad I did! First of all, Dr. Nasseh spent most of the first visit trying to convince me NOT to get a root canal because it might only add one or two years to the life of the tooth and he was sure the tooth would eventually need to come out. He was concerned about me spending the money unneccesarily. I made the decision to move forward with the procedure, figuring I should keep my natural tooth for as long as possible rather than moving straight to an implant. So I scheduled, and they fit me in immediately (less than a week out). The price of the procedure was $1,500 and they agreed to take the $165 initial fee for the consultation off that amount. Very competitive, especially for someone as skilled as he is. I went in for the procedure, he numbed me up and then did further probing. The resorption was MUCH worse than he expected, so he aborted the procedure and encouraged me not to go ahead with it and to get the implant sooner rather than later. He could have easily done the procedure and made the money, but he very clearly had my best interests in mind. He took the time to write a letter explaining the situation, and then he insisted on personally calling the implant speciliast to discuss my case. And of course, no charge for any of that. BTW - the staff is amazing, Dr. Nasseh gives you his cell phone number if you have any problems, etc. If you need a root canal, I recommend you don't look any further and JUST GO HERE! read more

A few months ago I posed a question to a friend... how does one get a fair opinion about the need for a root canal? After all... every dentist presumably will be doing the same thing - including the very expensive crown and procedures to get the crown fitted. So there is, to be fair, a financial component to even the dentist that believes he or she is doing their best for the patient. I think I found the answer.. visit a dentist that just does root canals, doesn't do crowns or any of the cash cow procedures that can come with a root canal. I saw Dr. Cooper because I didn't feel my current dentist was correct. It is possible he is just a poor communicator but he kept pushing me to have a root canal asap and told me I had an infection in the tooth. I do not. Something I felt from looking at my own x-rays. Dr. Cooper quickly determined I didn't have an infection and didn't need a root canal. They also gave me a referral for a dentist to do a filling. read more

I had unbearable pain that kept me up at night, and I couldn't stand to go much longer. I called my dentist (Dr. Davis, also a Yelp all-star) and his office referred me to Dr. Nasseh. I checked out his website and I called, and the receptionist already had all my information! She was able to squeeze me in later that very day - all the while, I was nearly doubled over in pain from the toothache. I went to the office, conveniently located in Copley Square. It had a very nice, comfortable reception area. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful, and I filled out my forms and got seated nearly immediately. Dr. Nasseh and his assistant snapped some pictures, and we decided to get right down to work. How was the actual procedure? Well, you'll never believe this about a root canal, but it was... completely... absolutely... PAINLESS. Even the anesthetic injection was barely even noticeable. Having read a lot about the procedure online before going in for it, it was hard for me to believe that he and the assistant opened up my tooth, cleaned it out, and filled it back up. I could have slept through it without gas, Valium, or general anesthesia, and I almost did! Dr. Nasseh and his associates place a very high emphasis on painless treatment, and I am happy to say that not only is my toothache gone, but also it was quite possibly the easiest dental treatment that I have ever had. Plus, I was in and out of there on my lunch hour, and I was able to go right back to work. I highly recommend Dr. Nasseh for root canal therapy if you ever find yourself in need. read more

I am writing this review with a completely numb mouth. Even my left ear is numb. And the vicoden is so darn nice it just makes me want to smile. Am I smiling? I can't feel it. Oh glorious dental work. Ok. Concentrate. If you're ever in the market for a root canal, Dr. Nasseh is your man. I've had my fair share of fillings, crowns, root canal therapies,more fillings, and wisdom teeth extractions - and this root canal treatment was by far the least painful. Then again I can't feel my face yet. Dr. Nasseh has a great location on the seventh floor, with the dental chairs overlooking Copley Square. You can tell they've put a lot of effort into making the space as comfortable as possible. I was particularly impressed with their use of indirect lighting in the examination rooms so you don't have to stare at those nasty fluorescent lights for hours. I'll admit, I'm not up on my endodontic technology (gasp), but it all looked purty fancy. Dr. Nasseh showed me my x-rays on a flat-screen and even made some little doodle drawings on them in a fancy dental version of Microsoft Paint. The procedure: Be forewarned, he did use novocaine with epinephrine, which makes your heart race like your having an anxiety attack for a few minutes. It's a little freaky, but it constricts the blood vessels and keeps the anesthesia in the area needing pain relief longer and I'm all about pain relief. The whole procedure took about 45 minutes (in which time I calculated what I was paying him per MINUTE, and will now be looking into endodontic schools as a career option). There were some pretty funky smells: nail polish remover; chlorinated swimming pool; and the always encouraging "something's burning" smell. But after 45 minutes I sat up, wiped the mysterious long trail of drool off my face I didn't know was there, paid my $1k bill, and walked out like a winner. read more

I just had the most pleasant root canal. Yeah, you read that right. Sitting here as the numbness is wearing off, I'm still amazed at how quick and stress free this procedure was. Seriously, the only thing I felt was the the numbing needle go in, but that was a matter of seconds and my mouth couldn't feel a thing. Not only is Dr.Nasseh and his staff incredibly friendly and bright, the office is beautiful and conveniently located as well. I hopped right off the train, right into the office and was able to hit up CVS after. THEY HAVE NETFLIX. I was most excited about this. As I sat back in the chair, I received a big set of headphones to drown out any noise and watched Arrested Development. I actually experienced joy during my root canal. Go figure. And by the time an episode was over, the procedure was just wrapping up. Let's hope I don't have to go back. However, if I did, it wouldn't be such a bad thing after all! read more

I am happy! I am happy because Dr. Nasseh dispelled all the myths of root canals and did a fantastic job. I'm not numb anymore and I am hardly hurting. It's been 8 hours or so since he did his magic in approx. 50 minutes (plus numbing). I've had root canals before, but I've never been to a specialist for them -- and now I understand the difference!!! He is extremely funny, very professional, answers questions very well, and he is extremely patient. He worked very quickly and I didn't feel a thing. Also, he seems rather fond of gadgets, so he uses a huge xenon light microscope to visualize the area and open the canals. He has tons of advanced tools, but this stands out the most. So far it has gone without a hitch. I hope that the tooth will feel fine in the future as well. Okay, so it's expensive, but if you have decent insurance, it softens the blow. And he throws in the 6 month follow-up for free. A true medical professional in every sense of the phrase. No one ever brags about a amazing root canal, but I'm going to because it was that amazing. I decided to give this office a shot due to the high reviews on yelp, and they really are true. I was treated by Dr. Carew and he was so gentle and kind. His placed my nervous self at ease and was very concerned about my comfort left at all times through out the procedure. I had a complex root canal which required 2 visits and I am so glad I trusted him with this. When you need a root canal, it's not the time to be cheap or look for a bargain; you want the best Dr. money can buy. You get what you pay for after all. The only down fall is he only does root canals, if he could do my crown, that would be the cherry on top of it all. Book him and don't look back! You will be glad you did. read more

I had the most pain-free and pleasant experience with my root canal there. I had Dr. Mario Abdennour and he absolutely made sure that I don't feel a thing. He didn't rush and waited to start until I was completely numb. I have had a lot of bad painful experiences as a child at the dentist and to this date feel anxious in the chair. He made me feel very comfortable, I listened to my music and honestly just relaxed. I really wanted to get a good root canal done and can't be more happy that Dr. Abdennour got the job done. I had the tooth worked on many years ago by a general dentist and after that an endodontist had to go and fix it. It turns out, it was never done right as it was a very difficult case and honestly, if Dr. Abdennour hadn't cleaned it well, I would have lost that tooth. Best place for root canals ever! Dr. Nasseh is a great doctor. I had to get a root canal done. I purposely waited a month to prepare myself mentally for the pain that I thought I was going to endure. I've had gone through oral surgery as a child, countless cavities, two sets of braces, two permanent retainers and wisdom teeth extraction. Hence to say, I'm terrified of the dentist let alone needles. I have a phobia of needles such that I didn't have an epidural for none of my three childbirths (Yes, completely natural). With Dr. Nasseh, he talked me through everything that he was doing from the anesthesia to the filling to the follow-up procedure that needs to be done with my dentist. I was referred to Dr. Nasseh by my dentist, Dr. Milivec, for a root canal. I had undergone root canal therapy in the past and was very nervous about going through it again because it had been extremely painful. I can honestly say that the root canal I received from Dr. Nasseh was no more painful then a filling. There was no pain aside from the initial needle (very small) which you would get with any minor procedure and the process was complete within an hour. I took a few Ibuprofrin over the next few days and that was that. I was expecting the worst and it never came. Hopefully I will never need another root canal but if I do there is no way I'm going to anyone else. read more

All the good yelp reviews are true. My dentist (another reviewer coming for her-I like her) said I might need a root canal, but possibly not. She said see Dr Nasseh, since he will be absolutely honest about the entire situation and not do it if its not needed. So went to see him; fantastic doctor. Great efficient office, easy to get to location and indeed, he is almost trying to talk you out of the root canal. I had an initial consult and didn't feel rushed, all my questions were answered and just walked away with a feeling that I was dealing with a very competent, highly skilled doctor. As it turns out my pain got worse before my appointment with Dr Nasseh, so Dr Nasseh didn't do my root canal but one of his associates at the location (Dr Cooper, another winner though she looks so young). A great experience-in and out in 1.5 hours. Pain that night but next day absolutely fine. If you need a root canal I would absolutely recommend Dr Nasseh and his associates. read more

Most painful experience I've ever had in my entire life. Tooth is still hurting after root canal a year later but no way in hell am I going back. I told him I suffer from extreme dental anxiety but they refused to offer anything to help me. I can always feel pain even after seven shots of numbing stuff.. and this was the absolute worst ever. Dr. Nasseh saw me after a cycling accident and fit me in on very short notice. I needed 2 emergency root canals as a result of the trauma, and he was wonderful. I was clearly shaken up and overwhelmed, but he took the time to explain the procedure to me, why it was necessary, and what might happen if I chose other options. I felt empowered in the process, and he made me feel very comfortable. Turns out...root canals with Dr. Nasseh hurt less than fillings!
