I used to like family medicine of Yakima. Lately about the last year or so since my former provider…read moredoctor Jeff Kaplan retired, the ability to get prescriptions filled in a timely manner as dropped out of 10 Stars, to about a three. Every time I have one particular medication that is difficult to refill, lorazepam, it always takes them a week to 10 days to fill it. Even though, I was told 24 to 48 hours for it to be renewed. Today is November 7th 2025, I I requested a refill on Monday November 3rd, and here it is the 7th, and nothing's been done. This happened a month ago in October 2025, and I had to go to the ER for an emergency refill. Lorazepam is not good to not take as it can cause seizures and other dangerous symptoms from cold turkey withdrawal. The withdrawals are horrible and are dangerous possibly. When my doctor Dr Jeff Kaplan was refilling my prescriptions, generally I received the renewals fairly quickly. But the ever since Dr Kaplan retired and even slightly before that, the speed and the carrot which renews are asked for by patience has gone downhill in the urgency and care by the doctors and staff to get prescriptions that are serious and crucial for a particular patient's health issue. This is the third time most likely that I will have to go to the ER at Healthcare Yakima hospital for a renewal this coming Saturday on the 7th of November. I'm really upset about this and I am getting tired of it. It seems my other medications always get renewed quicker, but this one is always a battle every month and I'm getting tired of it. I don't think I can any longer recommend family medicine. The front desk staff lately hasn't been as politis it's been in the past and at times has been curt and short with me on the phone. Sometimes seeming insensitive to the patient's problems. I used to rate this practice as a five-star clinic, but now I must reduce that down to about 2 or 3 stars.

And try to get the nurse to call back! Good luck, that will take no less then three to four days, if your lucky! Same goes for messages left to them! The health care in this town has gone down hill drastically! And good luck getting a new doctor? If you're already a patient to some doctor in this town, others won't take you. This office is so disappointing and shame on them for treating people so poorly!

She said that because she was sending me to the ER they would give me a refund of the 30$ CoPay or I can save it for my next visit. I said fine, save it for my next visit because I have to get out of here and to the ER. Asked if I needed anything to PROVE I had already paid when I visit next? Nope! They said it will be on my account. (ER showed nothing wrong, 1500$ later) Came in again in September for ear ache. Said they had charged me for my last visit, no Co-Pay on my account so I would need to pay the 30$. I refused and told them that I was told I would not have to pay for my next visit. Finally got seen for the earache, lady saw me for less than 5 minutes and told me I had a pimple in my ear. Really? Then I get home and the pain has traveled to my other ear. I make an appointment at my regular doctor's office after the weekend and I have a sinus infection causing pressure on my ear canals and am prescribed antibiotics. And they are still trying to bill me for the CoPay but it is impossible to get a hold of anyone in billing to talk about the situation.  I wish 0 stars were possible.

I was ignored for about 10 minutes by one clearly overwhelmed front desk person who couldn't even be bothered to look me in the eye or say we will be right with you. I have had 10 Orthopedic surgeries in the past 4 years and most recently separated my pelvis and ripped my abdominal and adductor off the bone when I slipped in my garage. I started PT after 2 months in a wheelchair post-surgery. Pro-Motion got me back to the point that last week (5 months from being in the wheelchair) went elk hunting in MT and hiked 44 miles in the mountains climbing over 12,000 vertical feet. I wondered if I would ever function normally and do the things I love to do, but Michael and his team got me back better than I was, after Dr. Boone and the excellent surgeons at Proliance got me screwed back together. I highly recommend Pro-Motion Physical Therapy for your post-surgery rehabilitation, sports injuries, or treating injuries to keep you from having surgery. They will do a great job for you like they have for myself and my family. Thanks Michael, I am very grateful for your attention and dedication in helping me recover!
