I am paying over $300. a month for cable and internet and the last month my internet and cable has been very crappy. Every time I turn around they are doing maintenance and it doesn't seem to get any better. Watching a show on Tv it stalls and has to load video. We are lucky if we can get on the internet and look anything up. It lags really bad. For the amount of money I am paying I would expect better service than what I am getting, You really should reimburse some of the money for the crappy service we are experiencing.. Dear anyone at mediacom that has any type of capability of doing the following, Heres a general idea may start spending more on the service product that your company provides, rather then on commercials that NO ONE WATCHES. Ive had internet outages due to faulty equipment such as modems and routers. Also to include outages due to faulty or not up to date equipment on the providers end, and its multiple times a day for weeks straight before anything comes to a slight resolution. But then your website and even you on here say to call, (trust me i do) then its a week to two weeks before a technician can come out to tell us we needed things replaced and have to wait another week to two weeks. Its honestly so exhausting and annoying having this problem reoccurring repeatedly. If i were the owner of such a company id be ashamed of myself for only looking at profits while putting out extremely disgusting quality of work. read more

For anyone, anyone looking for internet service, consider not having internet at all before purchasing mediacom. The internet itself is unreliable, and if you have a medium sized house, you'll have to also purchase multiple WiFi extension packs from mediacom in addition to paying monthly for the service and router just to get their slow glitchy internet throughout the entire house. Their customer service is worse than a 3AM Waffle House, and after deciding to go elsewhere for internet, they charged me $537 for "unrecovered equipment" for not bringing their cheap router back to them after 4 days. The internet is crap, the service is crap. The people are crap. I will tell anyone shopping for internet service for the rest of my life they will have better luck trying to make internet with popsicle sticks at home than to ever ever go to mediacom for any reason whatsoever. read more

I have never, in my 60 years, dealt with a company that has so little regard for what they tell the customer they will do vs what they actually do. I have a cable in my yard that needs buried. I have been calling weekly or nearly weekly for months. It's always somebody else has something to do. It is unbelievable the run around I've gotten. Today, after weeks of stories I was told that the service request to bury the cable was cancelled but she didn't know why. Seriously!!! Do you strategize about how to most frustrate your customers because you are a cable company and you don't have to worry about another cable company providing better service in your monopolized area. read more

When it works it works - you get the promised speeds or better. However, they're not very reliable. If power goes out in any part of town, their service goes down. Well, to be fair, a few weeks ago it stayed up for 10 minutes or so before the batteries in their outside plant died. Customer care is pretty bad. The reps are undertrained. Communication isn't too great either. For example, I was given a 30 minute arrival window by the telephone rep. When I went to the local office they said this area doesn't do that. Here locally, it's anytime between 8AM and 8PM on the day of the appointment. On the other hand, the field techs seem to know what they're doing. Finally, this review is based on their coax product. If you're using their enterprise fiber services then none of the above applies. It's solid and business support seems good. But you're also paying $5-$6 per megabit on a 36 month contract. read more

Absolute awful internet with a high price. Will also charge you for months after you terminate services.

Our internet went out for the better part of a day last month, when it came back on it has me located in Ames, Iowa rather than Leo or even Auburn, Indiana. It is frustrating to have to keep changing my preferred store because the location service thinks I'm 2 states away. read more

The Internet is great but customer service is terrible. The Price will go up after one year and the best they can do is apologize. They will also charge you a service fee anytime they need to come out and fix anything. Overall I would say they only worry about getting new customers and care very little for keeping old ones. read more

I am a new customer. I can attest to what the others (even the not recommended reviews according to Yelp) reviews are true. We are only getting about 20-30% if the package paid for. We set up technician call, which was changed w out me asking to change it. Then (after waiting at home ALL DAY) I received a text saying my service call was canceled. When I called customer service asking what had happened, they said the technician did come to my home and claimed to have knocked on the door. I am absolutely sure no one had ever come as I waited , often staring out window, and next to door for a Mediacom van. As far as the repeated changes in time the tech was supposed to arrive, the customer service rep said only I could have done that... basically calling me a liar. I have no idea how they continue to operate. I will be switching to a satellite company. All of previous reviews are true as it also happened to me and I'm a new customer. Bad....just bad. Read the previous posts. They say it all. I would rather get internet from a satellite than to use Mediacom again. If you only have 2 choices to choose from (and one of them is Mediacom), do yourself a favor and choose the other one. The customer service is probably the worst I have ever...wait minute....there was no customer service. For a good laugh, go read some of Mediacom's reviews across the web. It's horrible to read other people's horror stories about this place, but I have to admit (being a previous customer), I laughed a couple of times....and cried a couple of times while screaming, "THAT HAPPENED TO ME TOO!!! If I could suggest one thing, do not use this company for your internet. I had my x-tream router from media com which was hard to get because their technicians are very hard to work with. My internet was just fine for months, but all the sudden my router stops working. I get a technician out to my house and he asks me multiple times if I am using a different router for wifi that's not with them. I said yes and he replied good ours suck. The employee was trashing his own company. Now my router for wifi will not work, very suspicious mediacom. So I call their awful support line and the employee says that only 1 port, (the first one) is working so anything on the other 3 will not work. I had 2 things plugged in for 4 months. My wifi router and my Xbox. My Xbox was in port 4 wifi router in port 1 the one that was supposed to work. Clearly they shut it off and are not willing to admit to it replying with that's strange you should probably call the routers company. Really? Because everything you said should work with the router isn't and everything that was not supposed to work is. Xbox works fine in any port, router not a single one. He asked to change the cables, Xbox kept working, router didn't. DO YOURSELVES A FAVOR. DO NOT PAY THIS COMPANY FOR ANYTHING.*Little update, I set up an appointment for a Saturday for a technician to come and try to fix the problem, because I work full time and can't be there in the middle of the day so the helpful support caller said she set up a way that the technician if he got cancelled from someone on other days and he has time free they could call me and if I was home they'd stop by. Sounds great right? Well he did call 1 day before the Saturday and turns out since I couldn't make it, they canceled my Saturday appointment. I did not say to cancel it, I did not say move it, they just change it by themselves. Too bad so sad. Now I get to wait another 5 days because that Saturday was booked full. I have been a Mediacom customer for years now and service was not all that bad but in the last 5 weeks the internet has been very bad. I pay for 100 Mbps internet speed and have only been getting maybe 7 to 35 Mbps. I called Mediacom with the problem 5 weeks ago. They said they were so backed up with calls that it would take 5 weeks for someone to look at my problem but in 3 weeks they did send someone to look at my problem. When the technician came out and did the measurements he told me that everyone in North east Indiana was having the same problems. It was not a problem at my location but at the head end at Mediacom. That is the reason it took so long to get a technician to me. That weekend the internet dropped off about every 5 minutes. So I called again and a tech did come out that week but took measurements and told me the same thing. Everyone in North East Indiana was experiencing slow speed due to problems at the head end at Mediacom. This issue has now been going on for around 5 weeks. I would strongly think twice about using Mediacom for you internet provider. They seem to not be too concerned about providing the service and speed that they are charging customers for. It should not take 5 weeks to correct a problem affecting so many customers. That last technician even said we don't check the local lines in you house any more we pretty much know it is with Mediacom at their headend and we have experienced many unhappy customers lately. We don't know when they are going to get the speeds fixed. When doing a speed check with speedtest.net you can see the signal dropping off in the graph about every half second. I would look for a another company if you are looking for reliable internet because with Mediacom you will not get it. read more

This really stretches the line of what a service is. A service is something that helps or does something for you to a good manor. Media-com though, is not a service. Its like you you pay people to make your lives worst. We pay for around 70 to 100 Mbps and in reality we get 5-7. If two people are using the internet at the same time it gets crazy slow. The commercials are about as fake as the Chevy commercials. Ya-know the ones where there is a room full of idiots. They claim they have superior gaming but every match I've been in i usually have over 300 ping/ms sometimes hitting a whopping 900 ping. Some days i can be kicked up to 5 servers because my ping was too high. That means Media-com makes my game bad which in turn makes the whole servers game bad! I've kept a record breaking score of our internet cutting out 5 times! In one night! I don't care if you didn't read the whole thing but listen to this and do this one favor for me, DO NOT get Media-com read more
