Frustrated and having tried everything, Dr I got me on a plan and the weight immediately started falling off.

I had went to PAMF for years, then switched to a different clinic system. Recently due to my…read moreinsurance change, we went back to PAMF. Not long ago I brought my child to PAMF expecting a routine annual well check, which should be fully covered by insurance. However, I ended up receiving unexpected charges for things I didn't ask for. Be very careful during your visit. Even answering simple questions like "Do you still have your EpiPen?" can lead to extra charges. If you reply that you don't have it, even if you say you don't need one, they may take that opportunity to review your medication history or renew a prescription--and suddenly it's no longer considered a preventive visit. It feels like they try to find ways to add to the bill through casual conversation. Unless you explicitly refuse anything outside the core checkup, you risk being charged. I recommend being extremely cautious: Do not agree to anything extra--no prescriptions, renewals, or even minor health discussions--unless you're ready to pay for it. I expected better transparency from a trusted healthcare provider. Very disappointed. Find other clinic systems if you can.

I've always had the check-in desk be friendly and detail-oriented at the other locations. This location makes you feel as if they're doing you a favor for checking you in. It boils down to caring about patients and not humiliating them if they are not 100% wired up and tuned in. Each time I come here, which is always after a few years when I feel things may have gotten better, it's a negative experience. The actual providers are ok, not the warmest but cordial and professional. I'm sad for the seniors that come here because I've seen the impatient staff being rude and dismissive to them as well.

I had surgery at this hospital earlier this year. I want to be clear that my review is not about…read morethe doctors, nurses, or the clinical care I received. The medical staff provided very good care, and the facility appeared clean, professional, and well maintained. My concern is limited to the billing and post-procedure communication process. After the procedure, I reviewed the Explanation of Benefits from my health insurer, and the amount billed to me appeared to be significantly higher than what I understood to be the insurer's indicated patient responsibility. Because billing matters can be complicated, I tried to contact the hospital to ask for clarification and to request a written review of the account. In my experience, however, the process was very difficult to navigate. The available communication appeared to rely mainly on phone calls during business hours, which was challenging for me because of my schedule. I left voicemail messages explaining the issue, and I also sent fax communications asking the hospital to review the account and respond. As of this review, I have not received a clear written response resolving the discrepancy. I later contacted my insurer to seek clarification as well. From my understanding, the balance may still be treated as unpaid or not fully resolved, although the matter remains under review. I am continuing to work with both the insurer and the hospital to understand the final amount, if any, that I actually owe. What has been frustrating is not the medical care, but the lack of a clear and accessible written communication process for a billing issue involving an insurance EOB. If the hospital disagrees with the insurer's EOB or believes additional patient responsibility applies, I would expect a clear written explanation so the patient can understand the basis for the charge and address it appropriately. Again, I appreciated the clinical care I received. However, the billing follow-up experience was stressful, time-consuming, and difficult to resolve. Prospective patients may want to confirm in advance how this hospital handles insurance billing, EOB discrepancies, written billing disputes, and communication options other than phone calls. I would also encourage prospective patients to read a range of reviews, including lower-rated reviews, before deciding where to receive care.
