The space is used solely between trainers and trainees, creating a private environment where the focus is on you. I worked with Mike at the Fit Clinic. He is an experienced trainer and a great teacher. He is extremely knowledgeable in body mechanics and proper lifting technique to maximize results and prevent injury. He creates a very comprehensive custom program that includes: meal plans and food substitutions based on foods you enjoy, detailed and easy-to-follow home workout routines, weight tracking, and check-ins to monitor progress and ensure your goals are met. He shares and collaborates online, including a ton of reference materials for food options, and hundreds of different exercises so you can quickly access how-to's to improve on your own. He uses an encouraging approach while mixing up the workouts and making them fun. He provided guidance and tips while doing the work. For these reasons, I really enjoyed my sessions with him and the results. I had set goals to get stronger and lose weight but did not expect to adopt sustained life changes that would include nutrition and cardio. Since I've joined I've been supported by the trainers/coaches every step of the way! I weight train with two trainers a week and one day on my own. Both trainers, Cody and Peter, have great energy and made me feel comfortable using new gym equipment right away. I do monthly check ins with Mike or Nick, both are very knowledgeable in nutrition. I first met Mike in 2015 when he was working at The Right Stuff, where I had been a member for several years. I was only visiting at the time but knew I would be moving back home to Campbell in 2016. I asked the manager at Right Stuff to find me their VERY BEST personal trainer as physically speaking I have some special needs. Mike and I hit it off right away, and when I moved back to the Bay Area in 2016 we started working together intensely 5 days a week. I continue work with both him (and Kathy, his business partner, whom I met later). I've now been working with Mike for nearly seven years, and with Kathy for about three and a half years. Since then, Mike and Kathy have partnered to open (two) gyms for personal training, nutrition coaching, as well as yoga classes and other group classes. Throughout the years Mike has stood by me with all my ups and downs, including five surgeries and rehabs. He is amazing. Not only is he a top-notch trainer but a wonderful person, dedicated to a holistic approach to fitness, health and nutrition. I can't say enough good things about Mike and Kathy. I totally recommend the Fit Clinic Yoga Studio on Meridian Ave and the Gym on Union Ave, San Jose. After discussing my goals with Mike, the owner, he set me up with a strength, flexibility and mobility trainer. Kathy, the yoga teacher/trainer has changed my life. I thought yoga was just for flexible people but Kathy has shown me that anyone can do it with the right assistance. She is the most empowering person that I know. She is a tiny woman who can do some incredible things with her body, yet she is so encouraging and reassuring to me. The vibe is chill and yet I end up doing more than I ever thought possible. Kathy's super power is her ability to relate to others. She knows when to push and when to retreat. It was only a month into my twice weekly training sessions that muscles re-appeared that I hadn't seen since pre covid times. In addition, Kathy is an inspiring person with a lot of empathy and wisdom. She has supported me through past injuries and I now have complete shoulder mobility. I have just clocked in a year at the Fit Clinic and cannot say enough about this place. It has changed my life! I am sure that all of the trainers are amazing, but my experience has been with Mike, Kathy, and Kenny. They are all amazing! I've always struggled with dieting because I have very specific dietary needs and can't eat some of the things that are considered healthy (greens, certain fruits, nuts, etc.). In the past, others have not known how to give me advice on what I can eat. Enter, Mike! Mike is incredibly knowledgeable and knew exactly the type of meal plan to create that works for my specific situation. I didn't know how awful I had felt until I started eating clean on this meal plan! I feel amazing and this is now my new normal. He also tailored a workout plan for me and, along with my nutrition, I have lost 20 pounds of fat and have gained 5 pounds of muscle. Kenny is my actual strength trainer and is incredibly good at what he does. He is personable, knowledgeable, and is able to push me to my limits in a safe way. Where do I start?! The Fit Clinic changed my life!! Kathy changed my life!! She's one of the best trainers around! You can just tell that she (and Mike) are both passionate about fitness and they genuinely care about their clients.. not only their physical health, but their well being overall.
