How impersonable and inflexible! Life happens, things come up. Maybe try having a policy that if you cancel you still have to pay a certain amount if it's all about your time and money? I've never heard of a place dropping you because you have to reschedule more than ONE time. Try to have some respect that life happens and sometimes people need to reschedule.

To make matters more stressful, it was a Friday--when many dental offices aren't even open. They answered the phone, took my situation seriously, and got me in to see a dentist right away. It turned out I needed a root canal, and they went above and beyond by getting me an appointment with an endodontist that same afternoon. The coordination and urgency they showed made a huge difference in what could have been a miserable experience. I should also mention that we were brand new to Iowa City and hadn't even established care with a dentist yet. We had just moved from Sacramento, where we loved our longtime dentist and honestly didn't expect to find comparable care so quickly. Iowa City Dental Clinic exceeded my expectations. The care was not only excellent, but genuinely compassionate. In addition to treating me, they provided excellent referrals, which helped me quickly get top-notch follow-up care here in Iowa City. I'm incredibly grateful for how they handled everything during a stressful situation. Highly recommend this clinic--especially if you need urgent care and want to be treated with professionalism, kindness, and efficiency.

Because their machines were down on the first visit they had to schedule a follow up, though I was still charged for the first visit. Then today, two days before, they said I had to reschedule because they were having an "analytics meetin,g," I.e. not some patient problem but internal business. I offered to come on Monday or Tuesday at 5. Nope we can't do. Would you refund me the first visit. Nope we can't do, It is like playing a game of "Mother May I". In 62 years, a dentist has never, not once rescheduled, let alone for an internal business meeting. I have had dentists come in after hours for a root canal. When a judge tells me to be in court, I don't look in my schedule book, and say, gee, judge, you are going to have to reschedule. They are supposed to be PROFESSIONALS!!! NOTE: I checked with a long dentist I had in another college town. I was informed than other than patient emergencies and a dentist getting sick, they have not in their memory (which is long) rescheduled on a patient. I suspected as much. Had an infection hit full force over the weekend, and got ahold of Hart Dentistry's after hours number. 9:00 this morning they had me in and I'm now one tooth and one massive infection less.. and so far feeling much better already! It is bright and airy and clean, and the staff is out of this world. They seldomly keep you waiting for long, and their billing has always been prompt and correct. Like many, I have a terrible fear of the dentist based on past horrible experiences. At North Liberty Dental, they have taken the time to listen to my concerns, and work to help alleviate my anxiety by being open and honest about what they are doing, and by asking for my feedback at all times. I feel comforted by the experiences I have had at this office. I imagine they'd be great for nervous children as well.

Dr. Connors is extraordinarily competent and runs a practice of the highest quality. I am a…read morerelatively new patient, but all of the reviews I read before going to her office agree with my experience. I needed a crown in a reasonable amount of time, as my dentist at the UI was scheduled out for months and I had had an emergency. I was able to get in and get the crown done in a reasonable timeframe. The crown took one visit, and it was perfect. It looks exactly like my natural teeth and fits perfectly along with its neighbors. Dr. Connors uses high tech 3D imaging (rather than biting a mold and making a cast) to create the plan for the crown, and then synthesizes it right there in the office while you watch. And then it's ready to install. Amazing! It is obvious that Dr. Connors is a master of her craft and I am extremely happy to have her as my dentist! (Also, the old house she has set up as offices is adorable!)
