They even did a basic maintenance and discovered how another mechanic was stealing money for services they charged me for but weren't doing. If you're looking for quality customer service, look no further than Medina Tire Service. Right from the brilliant receptionist who's patient with your inquiries to the amazing mechanic who meticulously explains the process, this place has it all. Long story short, I needed a tire patch up(due to a screw that went kind of close to the sidewall but not exactly on it) but was told the same story by two previous Mavis's I visited: the tire is non repairable, and that I had to pay hundreds for a new one. They were pretty fast on the latter, immediately offering me expensive tires like their lives depended on it. So I told them to simply put the on spare and got charged $17 for the whole ordeal. This place was different. The mechanic that worked with me inspected the tire throughly and concluded that the tire can be mended. Furthermore, he explained that the damage is fixable depending on the length of the object piercing your tire AND how close it is to the sidewall. After doing a check, they concluded that the tire can be repaired. With that said, the entire process only took half an hour. For comparisons sake, I waited an HOUR TEN MINUTES in Mavis prior to this, only to be told that they can't repair it after placing my car on the lift and just looking at the damage. Medina made it easy time and money wise, as they only charged $27(tax included) for everything, from fixing the tire and swapping out the spare, whereas OTHER places would be charging all kinds of fees to increase your total. This place isn't like that. They're different. They're honest. And your vehicle will thank you for it. read more

WoW So I was in search of this hard to come by tires. (3 used: 445/45/17 ) I called up while I had my vehicle parked. The girl that was working the front desk was very pleasant over the phone. Right away she was able to locate the tire that I required. She even attempted to find me 3 of the same pair. Even if for me it not matter 100% that they all matched. I can definitely understand it would be difficult for ANY shop to carry 3 of any tire. Pairs make more sense. I flew down the highway and got their right away since I did not want to lose out on these tires. I was told before that the size was not the easiest to find in Used condition. Finding brand new in this size is not as difficult. Just to note it's a bit tricky get to since it's on the Northbound side of the Highway. Just follow the U-Turn signs if you are coming from the Southbound. Try not to speed past it but the Signs are pretty Big enough to view from the road. Pulled up to this place and Noticed right away the clean exterior and parking lot. I was not so concerned with the appearance since I just needed the tires done and was desperate at this point. But it is worth noting. I entered and they have a huge reception area with Tire displays and an awesome waiting area with TV and comfortable seats. Bathrooms were very clean and smelled great ! Even better than most food establishments. Which in theory is a scary thought that a Tire Service center has cleaner bathrooms than a business that services food to the public. But that's going off topic. Right away I spoke with Tire professional and they even brought out the tires they were going to install on my car prior to anything. My vehicle was serviced right away after and I waited. I didn't have a stopwatch but I think it took about 15-25 mins. Which was quick they had about 2/3 cars ahead of mine inside the garage. Which appeared to have several work bays working at one time. Also very clean in appearance. I got the bill and I was quoted the same prices I was given over the phone. It cost about $50 for each tire and $20 per tire for installation. So $70 per tire is not bad considering that the size is very hard to come by and the condition of the tire was great. You might be able to find places that cost less but I wouldn't trust anyone else ! Very Happy to be the 1st to review this hidden Gem of South Amboy. Had a good experience here, place is new and kept clean, people were friendly. The waiting area is nice reminds me of a man cave. Unlike most places that try to up sell you these guys are honest. I was in a jam as my wife's car had a slow leak in a tire and I needed to have it replaced/repaired, MTS took me in at the end of the day and had the job done quickly all for a reasonable price. I've been to the bigger chains before and it's like they couldn't be bothered with you unless they are selling you 4 new tires with all the extras. What a bunch of rip-off artists!! I brought my truck in because the engine light was on...BIG MISTAKE!! After failing inspection FOUR TIMES after they "fixed" the problem, the engine lightwas still on!! They put in the wrong parts!! They didn't even ask me if I wanted the "cheaper parts". I called two dealerships, one of them was where I bought the truck and they both recommended certified GMC parts. The guy I talked to at Medina said he called the dealership and they didn't tell him to use certified parts and not to use after market parts. Because the computer (On Board Diagnostic...ODB) can only recognize CERTIFIED GMC PARTS!! Now why wouldn't the dealership tell him this?? May he wanted to replace the OBD? I already spent $2000 to fix this problem and it's still NOT fixed!! He told me it would cost an additional $950 to put the right parts in!! Now I have to take it to another garage to get fixed. I encourage everyone STAY AWAY FROM MEDINA TIRE!! It's family owned so no matter what you say to them about the work they have done, it won't matter!! 3 I tried talking to them but got no where!! Like I said they tried to tell me that the computer in my truck was malfunctioning. They wanted me to spend $700-$900 on another computer. Not to mention that I already spent $800 on the catalytic converter!! Brought it to the dealer and they told me it was an exhaust leak. Now why didn't media tire see this??!! Hmmmm... read more

They were able tell me all of the different prices, including labor. They never tried to up-sell me on anything. They were also able to get me in very quickly. Since then I have been back several times. Anytime the car has needed work other than the basics, they make sure to explain in detail, what needs to be done and why. Frank and his staff at Medina are top notch. I purchased a set of used tires from them via a Facebook listing. I was hesitant at first because I had never made a purchase like this on Facebook. However, Frank answered all of my questions in a very personable and timely manner. We brought my car for the installation and Medina found out that all of the lug nuts were stripped beforehand and needed to be replaced. They were very upfront about the problem, showed us the condition of the lug nuts, went and bought new lug nuts, and installed them. Their communication, work ethic, and price was fantastic.
