My girlfriend found a deal with this company somewhere and scored a couples massage for a pretty good deal. I had personally never gotten a massage before so I was unsure what to expect. We called and got directions to the place and found it immediately because we aren't stupid. You go up the set of stairs that leads from the parking lot and its the door that says "massage" on it... Yes, its as easy as it sounds. We walked in and were greeted by two women who were very polite and nice... We filled out a short piece of paper and were asked what our trouble areas were and if we had any injuries, etc. The massage was very relaxing and thorough.. my girlfriend had had numerous massages and she stated that this was probably in the top 2 she had ever received. I wouldn't avoid this place because of the facility they happen to be running their business out of. We didn't go there to enjoy the apeal of a storefront and have representatives try to sell us upgrades on massages and hacky sacks... we went their to get a quality massage. If anyone asks me I will recommend them because as a business owner the skill of your trade speaks loud. Also its a shame that they have such poor reviews on yelp. If you don't know anything about yelp its mostly a load of crap... the only people who post reviews are the ones that have bad experiences. People should consider the fact that this company has had hundreds of customers and they have failed to post positive reviews. read more

I scheduled online for my appointment and received an automated confirmation email the day before. I showed up on time, but no one answered the door, my calls or text. Stood up!!! Next day she called that she sent me a text to cancel, but she only had my home phone so of course I didn't receive it. Not a very professional way to cancel. She should have called me or emailed because you cannot run a business by texting, especially with a customer you have never met. She said she was out of town, which she knew before my appointment. Horrible customer service! The place is also in a run down apartment building that has been converted to some business offices in a seedy and dark back area. Me being new in town, love the groupon deals. I bought one and redeemed as soon as it fit in my schedule by calling and leaving a message. Krishna called me back later that day and we scheduled an appointment for the following week. She explained also that you can go on line to the website and make an appointment too, to avoid calling. I thought I'd try out Ashiatsu. (a locally made up modality combining Shiatsu and one rope two feet Chavutti Thirummal Indian massage) except this is on a table and she balanced with bars on the ceiling. They have recently moved to S. 1st st. which is not that far from the old location. It's behind this coffee place upstairs in a commercialized apartment building now used for businesses. They have it fixed up really cute and when I got there she greeted me quietly as there was someone else behind a curtain getting a massage by another therapist. We went into her massage room and I filled out a short intake form and she gave me a little tea. After asking me some questions on what I wanted to focus on, I changed and got on the massage table. It was nice with candles and some music. She worked out my knots and got me to relax. I'll be back for more and next time I think I'll do 90 minutes. read more

I, like many others, bought a groupon for this place and went in for my massage a few weeks ago. The massage itself was fine; Krishna did drape me appropriately and gave me a decent massage. The reason for the low stars is the location. When looking for the place, I actually drove by it three times because I didn't see a sign. That was fine because I had arrived 20 minutes early (thinking there'd be paperwork to fill out). When I got out of my car, I had a difficult time finding it because I was looking for it in the front plaza area. Well... like others have said, it is in BACK of the businesses- in an APARTMENT. The door was locked, so I wound up waiting in a dark, dingy hallway for 25 minutes because the massage therapist was 5 minutes late for my appointment time. The place didn't seem the cleanest, there was no soap in the restroom, and the ambiance was terrible -not at all relaxing. Even though the massage was fine, I won't go back. read more

I'm not one of the ones who will give this place a bad review because I've had nothing short of spectacular service here. I started coming to see Krishna in March 2014 shortly after my regular massage therapist packed up and left town. I searched for many months looking for a therapist who actually paid attention to the work they were doing and genuinely wanted to help with my pain management. Krishna's talents are but one of the many tools I use to help with my lower back issues. I always opt for the ashiatsu massage. For those who don't know what it is, it's basically a deep tissue massage whereby the masseuse uses their feet to apply deep pressure to the back muscles to loosen them up. Pressure can be varied anywhere from firm all the way to deep, deep pressure, the way I like it. What I like about coming here is that: 1) Krishna cares about your well being and wants to help with your pain management. 2) She is very knowledgeable in her field and provides advice on post-session care. 3) Hours are VERY flexible and can accommodate most times when it is convenient for the client. 4) Not sure why people complain about the building, but I've NEVER felt unsafe there. It is a small building with a bunch of other businesses. It has that certain Austin-vibe going for it, which I really like. It's definitely not a "chain" massage establishment. 5) I always leave pain free. Give this place a try if you're looking for any of the above. read more

DO NOT GO HERE!!! I bought the 90-minute Swedish massage through Groupon 2 weeks ago, and redeemed it that weekend. I received a text message the morning of my scheduled appointment from my designated masseuse, Randy, who gave me directions to the place. Well that's nice, I thought.. But the directions were a little sketch. I had looked up where this place was before I bought the Groupon, and it was on S. 1st street - in what appeared to be a retail area. This place is actually located BEHIND the retail storefronts, IN AN APARTMENT UNIT. Yes, you read that right. This business is run out of a 1-bedroom apartment. It's totally sketch!!!! You have to go down a long hallway and it's the last door on the left with a tattered little sign that says "Therapeutic Massage". That raised a huge red flag, but I thought.. this is a Groupon. Groupon vets these places. This has to be safe. So I walked in. A 50-something year old man with a black eye greeted me. That's Randy. He seemed nice enough in the beginning, a little strange, but not enough for me to leave. I looked around the place and sure enough, it's a 1 bedroom apartment with a massage bed in the bedroom and some curtains with other stuff stashed behind in the living room. It was really weird. I asked how long they had been there, and Randy explained they just moved locations 2-3 weeks ago. And that it wasn't really "they", he was new to the company. He was one of the subcontractors hired to fulfill "all the Groupons they sold" -- which was over 300. Another red flag. Pretty sure that's not how Groupon wants business to be handled... But for some reason, I continued to stay. The massage started and it was good until about halfway through, I was asked if I wanted an "inner thigh massage". Ummmm, NO THANKS! I've had over 20 full body massages before and never have I been asked for an inner thigh massage. So that was strange. I was already on edge, then the worst thing happened. Randy was massaging my upper chest/neck area and went down a little too far. I reached down to feel if the sheet had gone down and sure enough, part of my chest was fully exposed. I gasped, and pulled up the sheet quickly and he apologized. UGHHHH. The massage ended and I grabbed my stuff and got out as quickly as I could. Not only is this located in a SUPER SKETCH PLACE, the masseuse was inappropriate. I will never ever ever go back again and urge anyone else who got this Groupon to call Groupon and get a full refund immediately. I called Groupon last week to tell them my whole story, and they are investigating it right now. They also told me that it's documented that Meditative Massage & Yoga actually switched the location of their business right before the Groupon went live. They were under the impression that this was just their second location, but really it's now their primary location. And it's an apartment. No retail front at all. On the Groupon, it lists "Suite". Don't be fooled. I'm mad at myself for not trusting my intuition and continuing forward with a massage at a place where I already felt uncomfortable. I'm grateful nothing happened, but I would hate for anyone else to be in this kind of situation--feeling like I was feeling. read more

Like many people who know the benefits of regular massage but can't afford a full-priced massage once or twice a month, I shop the Groupon deals. This one appealed to me because, not only was it inexpensive, it was close- within walking/biking distance actually. Yay South Austin! I recognized the location immediately because Summermoon Coffee Bar is one of my favorite coffee spots and Meditative Massage is DIRECTLY above it! I'd never ventured into the hallways behind the coffee shop and they are concrete and pretty dark. IT's true. Very bat cave. But once you are in the apartment- turned massage studio, its a really cool 78704, South Austin funky, sweet, innocent, loving DIY feel. Hand made curtains divide the opening foyer from one of the massage rooms-- I could hear music coming out of there and was asked nicely to please talk quietly to respect the massage already in session. (I was told that plans for a solid wall are under way, but I have to admit, I found the whole spirit of the enterprise downright charming!) I was given paperwork to fill out and offered water. Since my low back has really been bothering me, I was hoping for not only deep relaxation but pain relief from the ashiatsu massage. (IT was my first Ashi experience.) I have some carpentry experience, so I took a minute to check out Krishna's Ashiatsu set up (bars attached to the ceiling). It looked solid and attractive. I was NOT DISAPPOINTED with the massage! As layer after layer of painful tension left my body, i started to feel like a waterfall was flowing through me! Krishna danced on my sacrum with the perfect amount of pressure and the pain was gone completely for the first time in several weeks. I will definitely tell all my friends in the neighborhood and beyond and be back for more. She offered me a great returning customer deal and I feel blessed to have found this new indie Austin massage coop gem! I have received several massages here and have found them rather enjoyable. I did have to wait a few minutes before a massage because she ran a few minutes over with a client but no biggie it has happened to me at other places i fully understand how things go. As other people have stated it is in a building with mixed spaces i dont see why people are making such a big deal small businesses dont have the biggest bank rolls for space in this costly town. I didnt have a problem finding the location but i am a bit used to using a map and looking things up before hand so i dont make people wait on me. I'm still not sure what these other people are talking about it being "sketch" (not evening using the correct word) but it is in a mixed space building right off of S 1st nothing shady. read more

I had to laugh at Chris R. because I was searching for this business to write a review and lo and behold he wrote one just today. I bought my "massage" through Morgan's Deals and today was supposed to be my appointment with Kristen. I made this appointment over 2 weeks ago right after buying it. Kristen did mention she had sold over 300 coupons so she was super busy. My appointment was at 11:00 and at 10:00 Kristen called me wanting to change it until the afternoon. I agreed and she gave me her number to call her when I was finished with my other appointment in Austin (I live in Kyle). She was very appreciative and said she would be available at 2:45 for sure and maybe a little earlier so to call first. I called her at 2:15 ( it went to voice mail) to tell her I was on my way. Arrived there at 2:30 and could not believe where it was located. Dirty flithy apartment hallway. Everything Chris said was so on the money, in fact if my husband would not of been there I would not of stepped foot in there. The door was locked so I gave her the benefit of the doubt thinking she was with another client and had locked the door, I would. At 2:45 I called again and again no answer. In the meanwhile we were stuck in the awful hallway with one little chair, guess that was waiting room, in the 100+ degree heat. I called again at 2:50 and left another message and said it was too hot to sit out there and would be in the car to call me and I would come up. At 3:05 she still had not called me back and I finally called Morgan's deals and said I wanted a refund. It is now 5:45 and she still has not returned my call. WONDERFUL MASSAGE EXPERIENCE! I am visiting Austin for my first time. A business conference. I looked at every ad for therapeutic massages on Craigslist and on Backpage. Krishna had an ad on both sites. I liked the positive and professional message and I liked all the photos. Everything she said was totally accurate and the photos show it all just as it is. The office is easy to locate and is in a building which includes a coffee shop and convenient free parking. Because of the half price deal for first timers, I asked for a four hand massage, which I would not be able to afford otherwise. I was pleased with the rooms and I decided to go with a four feet massage when I saw the handrails on the ceiling. A while hour of two masseuses walking on my back. A shiatsu massage. My first. It felt a lot like 4 hands because the pressure was always controlled and pleasurable. They were both lovely ladies and they both loved their job and were true professionals. I will certainly go back the next time I am in Austin. I am forgetting the name of the second masseuse right now, but I talked with her afterwards and was enthralled by her. A great deal. It could not have been better. I am 62 and began getting massages when I was 25. Have had somewhere around a thousand massages, of all types. RUN AWAY!!! This place is in a creepy apartment! Its one of those small 1 bedrooms above a buisness. I walked down a narrow dark hallway to the unit and it had a cheap cut out cardboard sign. Randy welcomed me in and I asked if it was an apartment and he said it is zoned for both and its like a co-op for multiple people. My groupon said 90 min swedish massage. Since when does a swedish entail rubbing your belly the pulling on your face and lips! Yes he pinched my lips! The "massage" was horrible, I was rubbed down with oil ,not massaged. He also adjusted the sheet and left my rear exposed. I repeatedly had to pull the sheet to cover my chest and nether region.. This has to be a scam where a guy gets trusting women to get a massage through groupon only to rub his hands all over them. Groupon gave me refund. But they need to pull the ad for this place. As chris R mentioned DONT GO THERE! DONT pay to be creeped out and simply RUBBED ALL OVER by some perv. I wonder how many woman have had this happen but not put a post on yelp! He in no way could have a license. Never had I left after a massage and had my hair covered in oil, face pinched and had someone lean over my face to reach my back. I his body touched my head, ya, that part thats level with the table, ya his junk. I left and he went to open the door for me and stood between the door and me, I feared for my safety at that moment and regreted even more walking in that door. read more
