My appointment started fine but when it came time to see the Radiologist things went bad fast. I will not repeat what the assistants asked of me while I waited. I was told he was on his way. I was left in the dark in a paper drape for over an hour. I finally called the front desk from my cell phone to find out what was going on because noone ever came to check on me. I was then told he was just finishing up at another meeting and would soon be on his way. He was never in the building the entire time I was there. Came here for an ultrasound and Dr. Raman was able to scan parts that were labelled as being only partly visualized in my previous ultrasound. He also did a reading of an ultrasound done elsewhere which I thought was very generous. He started with a consult-type talk about what my ailment was and explained everything in utmost detail on the screen during the scan. He even talked diagnosis and treatment options. He clearly specializes in scanning differently compared to the scan technicians and reads the scans far differently from a physician of Internal medicine. I came away feeling like I had had thorough scan and was armed with a lot more information so I could make an important health decision. Highly recommend this place. The most pleasant medical appointment I've ever had! I needed an ultrasound done on my legs, and I'm so glad I went to Dr. Raman! From the moment I walked in, the receptionist greeted and assisted me with a smile. I usually hate seeing doctors because they often make me feel like I'm apart of an assembly line (tossing me around until they can get me out the door). Before I get into any details, let me just say Dr. Raman is the BEST! I would 1000% recommend him to anyone I know and will definitely contact him again in the future if the need arises. Details: I sustained a head injury a few days ago while out of the country, and immediately had to travel from my home (NYC) to the Bay Area for work after I returned. I wanted to get my head checked out just to be safe and was going to go to urgent care since I don't have a refuse doctor here. But when I called the urgent care facility they suggested getting a CT scan or going to the ER (which I really didn't want to do because of the high cost and long wait times). I called Dr. Raman's office to ask about getting a scan and Dr. Raman actually got on the phone with me for thirty minutes to talk to me about what happened, walk me through the options and process of getting a scan done, and advised I see a PCP to evaluate whether I actually needed one. He also recommended a PCP by my office I could go to. The PCP was extremely helpful, provided additional advice and information about my concussion, and said I wouldn't need a scan unless things get worse in the next few weeks. I am SO glad I got a second opinion and didn't listen to the urgent care facility - it saved me so much time and also hundreds of dollars, and I feel like I got the best care possible. I am absolutely blown away by Dr. Raman's kindness and compassion - he spent half an hour on the phone with me at 8 pm because he wanted to make sure I got the care I needed. Ultimately, I didn't end up going into his office or getting a scan so he didn't make any money off me (as I mentioned, he actually helped me save money) - it's clear to me that he and his practice genuinely want to make sure patients get the care they need, and this isn't just a business or profit machine to them. I had abdominal ultrasound for gallstone. Dr.Raman personally called and scheduled appointment for Sunday morning. He explained me well about their policy for charging customers in case insurance doesn't get verified in time and later refunding money once claims are settled. Nothing hidden. On the day of ultrasound, Dr.Raman examined me for nearly 45-50mins, very thoroughly. He went patiently over my past ultrasound as well. He explained everything very well and gave me personal advice of how I can maintain my health going forward. He warned me of fatty infiltration on pancreas and risk associated with diabetes. The actual imaging services provided were fine/good. My issue is with reception tho- as far as scheduling and billing. Not very helpful or easy to work with at all. Lots of back and forth, having to call multiple times to ask them to submit claims to my insurance (said they did but for "some reason" my insurance repeatedly had nothing come through) And again confusing as far as being told I am "paying in full at the time of service", only to be billed an additional amount months and month later!? read more

MedPixels was a terrific experience for me. Everyone was kind and treated me gently. Since the pandemic I have been waiting to have two surgeries: back surgery for a slipped disc and surgery to have my right hip completely reconstructed; I'm in a wheelchair. I received notice I could have my back surgery at the end of May, I just had to have a check-up from my primary doc and some blood tests. The back surgery was delayed because the blood tests showed my 3rd stage kidney disease has progressed to stage 4. My kidney specialist ordered an ultrasound and I went to MedPixels to have the procedure. I was still upset about my diagnosis. When I arrived Maria immediately helped me pass through the doorway and helped pick a safe place for me to wait. Soon, two lovely tech assistants greeted me with smiles and moved me to the exam room. Moving causes me considerable pain (I'm not on any pain meds) but these wonderful women helped me onto the exam table with such care and made sure I was comfortable. They were friendly and authentic, and we easily carried on a lively conversation as they performed the ultrasound. While Dr. Raman examined the results he was warm, gracious, knowledgeable, and he treated me like an adult; he was never condescending (rare for me!). When it was time to leave, Maria helped me get to the lobby and waited with me until my med-transport van arrived. She was so caring and protective of me. The tech was professional and kind. I appreciated that the office followed safe protocols both in the room and out in the waiting area. They both can speak intelligently about any medical issue they are presented with, in in-depth detail..its uncanny. Unbelievably polite and very thorough and they make you feel like your issues are being addressed. They 'guide' you along the way putting you at ease at every step. I rather enjoy visiting these doctors and as strange as it sounds, I look forward to my appointments. I worked the whole week days and never had a chance to see a doctor due to my hectic work schedule. My PCP scheduled me for abdomen ultrasound. Since I cannot make it on week days , I tried looking for Saturday's schedule. Mid pixel Medical services was one of the clinic that was in network with my insurance. However they don't have week end services posted. I called the office and was able to spoke to Maria who professionally accommodated me regarding my request. She promptly scheduled me for Saturday appointment with Dr Raman. She was very kind and accommodating while waiting for the doctor who will perform the ultrasound. I feel very relaxed when I met Dr Raman. His medical education and background is top notch. Easy to go with. He was very professional. We exchange ideas to a point that we discussed health related issues that was beneficial on my part. I learned a lot from him regarding health wellness prevention. The DO's and DONTs which normally I don't get from medical tech performing ultrasound to patient. It was my first time to be seen by Doctor by profession doing the ultrasound by himself. Maria and Dr. Raman are very nice! Maria spoke to me via text regarding my insurance and answered all my questions before I came in for my appointment. The staff is very friendly and Dr. explained to me the ultra sound in a manner that can easily be understood. Over all it's a fun memorable experience! The staff is great, the facility is cozy. The only thing that Is off and the reason why it's not a 5 star is because in the text conversation I had with them regarding a print out of my ultra sound, before I came I asked if I can get a print out of my baby's ultrasound and I am told that they'll print it out for me for free but after the ultrasound they told me that they don't have capability to print an ultra sound photo, So keep in mind that if you come visit this clinic, the only way you'll get a copy of your ultrasound photos is via email which they will send to you after your visit. There's also a $20 payment if you want a small clip of your ultra sound and the photos (ours are three clips around 3 seconds short each) sent via email, which we paid for because that heart beat is such a memorable thing to see! I wish I could give this place 6 stars. I made a few phone calls to MedPixels to schedule a sinus CT appointment. They managed to book me an appointment the second day! Only 3 hours after the CT Scan, I went back there and Dr. Raman was looking at the results with me and he spent at least 30 minutes to go over each image and answer my questions. That was unheard of. It could have been days, if not weeks, at any other facilities to even schedule appointments, not to mention getting the result instantly and having a radiologist look at and explain the images to you.
