There was a breakdown in the pre-appointment process. While my initial submission was missing a diagnostic code, this was not flagged to me in advance. Instead, I was only informed upon arrival, which created avoidable delays. At that point, I immediately provided the complete order from Stanford via the patient portal. However, staff asked for a paper copy (non-existent as this was ordered via virtual visit) and proceeded to seek verbal confirmation from Stanford, which did not seem necessary given the complete documentation available. As a result, the visit took approximately twice as long as expected. Additionally, I was asked for clinical details (cholesterol, family history) prior to the CAC without explanation, which felt outside the scope of the imaging. Suggested improvements: * Proactively review and flag incomplete documentation prior to the appointment * Accept digital physician orders from established systems (e.g., Stanford portal) without requiring redundant paper copies or verbal confirmation * Limit or clearly explain non-essential patient questions These changes would significantly improve efficiency and patient experience. read more

This is my 4th MRI scan and wow, what a different experience this was. My previous experiences were terrifying, I was not even aware I was claustrophobic until I got into an MRI for the first time. SimonMed was a totally different experience. They have a wider machine, and it is newer and faster than the ones I was previously in. My cervical spine scan finished in 8 minutes!! All the stuff is super friendly and welcoming. Hana, the MRI technician knew about my fears, and kept taking to me during the scan to calm me down, told me how many minutes were left, and that helped reduced the anxiety. And on top of that, they have a special device they install over your head with a mirror at 45 degrees that lets you see the room even when your head is facing up. That is a game changer for claustrophobia. If I ever needed an MRI again, there is no where else I would go, only SimonMed Los Gatos from now on. read more

I had an appointment for a X-ray with and without contrast on my right foot. Check in process was quick and easy. The tech explained everything step by step. The only problem we had was the X-ray was supposed to be with contrast but I guess there was no tech available to do the contrast so we just did the X-ray without. The X-ray itself was quick and easy and painless. If you've never had an X-ray done be prepared for the x-ray machine to be extremely loud, the tech did provide ear plugs and headphones but you can still hear the loud machine but not as bad. A copy of the X-ray was provided to me on a CD at the end of the test, which was extremely helpful so I can provide it to my doctor. read more

They called to get my provider's order on an imaging appointment. I've shared with them over fax, phone, and even a text message. I am not sure if it is their associates or system, but I don't understand how you can get three lines of information so aborrhently incorrect to the point where I am getting canceled, and rechescheduled multiple times right before my appointment. This is unacceptable beyond all means. I am honestly expecting to get another call to "verify my provider's order" again and they will have to "cancel since this is not provided". I don't post often unless if it's extraordinary good or bad. This one is bad! Now I know the reason for the low rating and the emptiness of this lab.. My appointment for an MRI was at 5pm. I called to let them know that I'd be 5-10mins late due to unexpected traffic conditions and was told not to worry: you are ok as long as you arrive by 5:15pm - there is a 15mins grace period, which I thought was awesome. I arrived at 5:10pm checked in and waited. The front desk girl was friendly and courteous. So far so good until a patient came out at around 5:20pm followed by the technician, Aaron. He told me that he was going to take a break for lunch (at 5pm?). That he would be back at 6:00pm. That he would take a patient scheduled at 6pm and that he would then take my scan at 6:15pm. Translation: I would have to wait in that dark office for almost 1hr when I was told it was ok to arrive within 15mins of the scheduled appointment...really?! I asked Aaron the technician how so and he started to give excuses. I understood he needed his break but why then the office allowed an appointment during this time and had to push an appointment 1hr out on the fly? I wasn't interested in having any argument. Thinking I would not want to be scanned by someone in a bad mood - I just cancelled my appointment and left. I do not recommend this lab to anybody - look for other more efficient lab with better customer services. read more

I killed time and got to the Santa Clara location 3 hours lateronly to be informed that they made the appt for the following day. I wasted half a day and had nothing to show for it. An hour before my appointment I receive a text message stating the appointment has to be rescheduled. I then called and they said it's OK must be an error. Note this was after they asked me a dozen questions to verify who I was. Then I receive a call a few minutes later saying appointment needs to be rescheduled - this too was an error. I then go in to the office and they say I need an order from the doc even though it's out of pocket but I look it up and provide screen shot from my health on line. They said that will work. I later was on the table about to get the scan literally rolled me in the tube and the tech comes in and says we need an order and has me come off the machine and now they are calling the office and order is on its way. The tech got very confrontational when I said this is so stupid as he yelled it's not my fault. I'm thinking am I now suppose to help him calm down....anyway don't go to this place. On the positive side, Aaron the MRI tech was excellent. Efficient, timely and with a perfect scanner-side manner. I'd add that the location/parking are quite convenient. I came back to the office and raved to three people about this Los Gatos site. Even after I got nasty results (chronically ruptured ACL), I was still positive regarding the on-site experience. So why a low review? Working online with quote/scheduling/providing records was convoluted. And regarding the quote, I tried to double check the day before and did confirm that the day (9/29/25) at the site's front desk, while providing my insurance card and pay the agreed upon fee. On Sunday morning early Oct 19th, I get a text message that I initially thought was some scammer ( a link to a non-Simon Med site) saying "Please view & pay your bill." Again the next Sunday, another text saying I owe nearly 50% more from what was agreed upon the day of and paid then. Multiple phone calls to remote call center workers (who were kind but a little clueless and certainly powerless) - some emails that were eventually answered minimally. No accountability. Pretty sure their business model, is to quote one price, then execute the service and *only much later charge* your insurance more than they quoted. In fact more than what my insurance would grant, so the charge was reduced to what the insurance would pay which of course was more than the initial quote. So Simon makes more money off the insurance company, but now wants more than the agreed upon and promptly paid co-insurance from us patients. And again I provided my insurance card onsite right before the scan, and asked the receptionist to confirm with insurance and specifically asked to pay my cost then. It's not that my insurance company *volunteered* to pay more weeks after the service, Simon altered their charge well after the transaction. Anyways, the Better Business Bureau might be worth perusing for folks. The truth is had they billed the eventual price at the moment of service, I would have just paid the additional amount then. But at this point, who knows how much more they will charge even after that. If the billing/business side could match the level of professional care that Aaron provided, this would be a 5-star review, and I would not need to go tell those I'd recommended Simon Med to be very wary. Private equity is rotting American healthcare from the inside out, and SimonMed Imaging in Los Gatos is a textbook example. My experience here was a disaster, start to finish. Scheduling alone was a full-blown fiasco. Their phone system routes to a random call center which seemed to be heavily multitasking, cheap labor instead of competent service. I clearly picked the Los Gatos location, double-checked it wasn't Los Gatos Medical Park, and the rep even read back the correct address. Yet my confirmation email said Medical Park anyway. When I called back, the next scheduler sounded dazed, like they'd been dragged away from another job entirely and needed to reorient before figuring out what was going on. Then came the MRI itself, which somehow managed to be worse. The equipment was clearly ancient, and the coil failed multiple times mid-scan. I lay on the MRI table while the tech fiddled with it, restarted it, and eventually gave up and swapped in a different coil. What should've taken 30 minutes turned into an hour of waiting under a loud, half-functional machine. This isn't bad luck. It's what happens when private equity takes over medical companies. SimonMed is owned by American Securities, one of those PE firms that buys functioning businesses, cuts everything that costs money, and milks what's left for efficiency. The result is predictable: overworked staff, failing hardware, and a system optimized for extraction, not care. Private equity is the economic plague of modern America. It infects healthcare, nursing homes, veterinary clinics, anywhere human need guarantees revenue, and it hollows out quality until only profit remains. SimonMed in Los Gatos is just another casualty of that model. The techs here did their best, but the ownership doesn't care. You can feel it the second you walk in. read more

This company has maleficent business policy when it comes to charging customers at the time of the appointment. When I showed up for my appointment, check-in counter person asked me for amount close to three times of what I actually owed even after mentioning that my deductible is almost met and I shouldn't have to pay that much amount out of pocket. She mentioned that billing department would reach out and issue the refund if insurance EoB shows that the excess payment was made. After more than 2 months I happened to check the EoB and found out that I paid 3 times of what I actually should have. No one reached out and probably would have never refunded the excess amount. Choose some other diagnostic services or keep a close eye on what you are paying and what you should actually be paying. Tech person was decent though, also got results in time. read more

My son has been running with a broken foot for two years, through three state championships and a few age group world records!!..... had an MRI this afternoon that took only 16 minutes as they didn't stop in stages to check the images! I had an MRI last week in Los Gatos in the supposedly wider T3 machine. Getting on and off that machine was nearly impossible, especially without help. Two girls stood by while I tried several times to get on and off this torture device. It has two levels of sharp steel you have to get by on the sides. Since this experience, my right arm is injured. There has to help for people who are disabled and struggle with these machines. read more

They said to arrive 15 min early which I did not have to do because I filled out everything on line. When I arrived they said they were 40 minutes behind so I took a half hour walk. SimonMed has bad credit for appointments. Doctors should not refer to these services. They confirm the appointment and then cancel it at the last minute. It isn't only my experience. You can see others' comments here. The office called me to confirm the appointment before the day of the appointment, meaning they read and understood the doctor's order. When I arrived for the appointment, they said their office could not do this and rescheduled to another location on another day. Poor...poor service!!!! read more

HORRIBLE beyond words!!! My doctor ordered a specialized "URGENT" MRE on April 22. approved immediately and faxed to SimonMed Los Gatos. On April 23 I called and made an appointment for soonest available date, May 6th. SimonMed imaging contacted me with pre-test instructions a few days later and had me create account online to provide more personal information, which I did promptly! Today 3 days before the scheduled procedure on May 6th, I call to verify, and was told my scheduled MRE had been canceled by SimonMed, because it was a specialized test and SimonMed doesn't do it!! No one called me, no one emailed me to notify me of this!! Spoke to supervisor, was just told, "sorry about that"!! You people should be ASHAMED of your unprofessional, UNETHICAL and shameful treatment of patients that wrongfully place their trust in you and your services!!! read more

Professional and Friendly Staff members they attend to you right away not much paperwork needed most of it is done online and not along waiting time. Experienced X-ray technicians they seem to find more then the ER Department would have found and they give you a personal copy of your results to take home. They also are patient with how we feel even with our pain we suffer from our broken limbs isn't that why we are sent there. read more

Don't come here for X-rays if you don't want to be given a runaround everyday. We called ahead for this Bascom location and the automated system informed us that X-rays are on walk-in basis. We got there on a Friday and they said there are no X-rays on Friday and set up an appointment for us for another location for Monday. Neither their website nor automated appointment service indicated that X-rays were not available on Friday. When we asked if we could have set up an appointment by phone. They said only they can set up these appointments and it had to be done in person. Okay, so we spent Friday just getting the appointment then on Monday, the Los Gatos location told us that we were given the wrong information and that we did not have an appointment. We were merely added to the "queue" by the Bascom location and the wait was going to be more than 1.5hrs. We showed them the paper from the Bascom location for the 3pm location and the receptionist at Los Gatos said it didn't matter what that paper said. She then said it was the Bascom location's fault and it has been happening regularly. So we are not the only people who were given this run around! We are in the middle of trying a third location. My elderly mother has been coughing nonstop without sleep and her doctor wanted to wait for the chest X-ray before prescribing her medication so she is still without an X-ray or a prescription after running around to different SimonMed. AVOID this humiliating business as much as possible! They will call you just one day before appointment and just say they don't have technician at San Jose and you should go to San Francisco! It's unbelievable to me that that happened to me 3 times for same appointment. 2 Times appointments cancelled just one day before scheduled in Santa Clara and LosGatos. This place sucks. Stated that it only takes walk ins for Xrays but then when I walked in they said I needed appointment or would wait 2 hours. Then once xray was done, it did not get sent to my doctor despite repeated calls. I was asked what the doctor's fax was and then the facility offered to send it to me. Siicon Valley MRI and CT was a great family owned business. This place is shit. There was only one thing that was cause for concern at this Simon Med office. That was the condition of the parking lot. I arrived for a CT scan on my back. As I got out of my car and started walking to the door I nearly fell. I am already unsteady on my feet due to the condition of my back, this lot was a nightmare for someone like me. As I continued to walk across the lot I had to be extremely cautious due to all the cracks, bumps, and general unevenness of the entire lot. It is in desperate need of repair. Otherwise, the actual appointment was great. The front desk person was very friendly, got me checked in quickly. The scan Technician was really friendly and quickly put me at ease.
