Had a pretty good experience at Valley Radiology Ciro, though a couple things to note. Was leaning toward a 4 star because they got me in and out quickly, front desk person was effective and pleasant enough; would just really like the ability to make appointments for x-rays (that would've put them into 5 star range) but walking in ended up working well, at least before 10 AM. I called the week before to ask a couple basic questions and while they didn't pick up the first time, I got through the second time and they quickly answered my questions, which was nice. Taking a star off for the x-ray tech Kelly...saw him mentioned in multiple other reviews (older balding man, not heavyset) and instantly felt the vibes that were putting people off. He was abrupt, dismissive of others, full of himself, gave me a strongly coded shut up (it was a 'stop talking' but in this demeaning way) the first question I tried to ask... Within a couple minutes it was blatantly obvious I was dealing with a full blown narcissist, but at least a narcissist who was quick and effective at his job. Got me out in a couple minutes, with a side of heebie jeebies from his personality. Bedside manner is part of being in healthcare and he lacks it, but he run machine good. read more

What a nightmare to work with, schedule with and then reschedule when they cancel your appointment due to machine issues. Originally started to book in late March, appt this week but cancelled by them and now - next appointment is first week of August! There online booking system does not work, you get to the last page and confirmation is denied due to "issues". Save your time - if your Dr recommends this place (any of the venues), push back for a difference referral. read more

Had an appointment at 9:20am and arrived at 9:30am. VRI turned me away and said that because I was late I cannot be seen. I understand that however; front staff could have at least checked with the technician if they could have still seen me. Worst front desk staff, she was rude, unfriendly, rolling her eyes talking on the phone to another patient. Worst customer service. Called 3 times to get a call back from a manager and left messages without any call back. Yet it's ok for VRI to cancel my initial appointment I scheduled 8 weeks in advance and I was understanding, but no one could be understanding of me being 10 minutes late???? read more

I didn't have any trouble scheduling, although the scheduler mentioned that he was at a different location. Parking was sufficient. Overall, the process felt very slow. It wasn't busy when I was there, yet I still had to wait 30 minutes to be seen. At one point, I accidentally walked around inside because I couldn't find the exit, and I noticed that no one seemed to be working or paying attention.The results for a routine image came back much later than expected, even though they said it would take only 3-4 days. Because of this, I decided not to go there for my ultrasound and asked my doctor to send the order to a different location. read more

2 Stars - Poor Customer Service Receptionist Angie was rude, unhelpful, and slow. I arrived at 12:50 pm with all my paperwork ready. She told me the technician was at lunch until 2 pm, handed my papers back, and ignored me while helping others who arrived after me. When I questioned her, she denied it and said, "I don't remember," instead of apologizing. It felt like she was taking out personal frustration on customers. Management should be aware of her attitude -- she's not suited for front desk service. read more

I have to say the visit to this Valley Radiology site on Ciro Avenue in San Jose was a much better experience then one of their other sites. I give this site 4 stores, I might have given them 5 but for one reason. The lady front desk clerk wasn't as friendly as her other co-worker, though sooo much better than the other site by Good Sam. The gentleman at the front desk was so soft spoken and pleasant. Very professional and kind. The x-ray tech Kelley was awesome. He saw something in the x-ray and basically said we need to call your doctor and get more x-rays. So we stayed right outside the x-ray room and he requested the front desk contact my doctor. We only waited maybe 5 to 10 minutes and they had a new order from the doctor. Kelley was definitely looking out for his patient, was very kind and very professional. read more

I called 408-297-4591 and Nicki was unhelpful to me. Nicki had me repeating my phone number and sounded unenthusiastic. I am unsure why she was having a bad day or some however her phone etiquette was not helpful. I stayed on the lines for a longer time that normal that made me feel I was entertaining Nicki and or other receptionists. Nicki hung up on me so I can use the survey. She was polite and stated that they do not have an xray tech today. This facility is a complete disaster. I had to call five times and waited an average 30 mins just to make an appointment for a routine mammography. The first time they told me they need doctor's order to make an appointment. After I asked my doctor to fax it, the guy I talked to for scheduling refused to book an appointment for me saying that I would have to go to the facility in person to show my insurance card. He refused to take my insurance information over the phone and said there would no other way to upload my insurance information except for making a trip to the facility. After I troubled my doctor to send my insurance information and called again, they said they did not receive it. Then after everything finally went through, they told me they would not have any appointments available before the end of this year. It's a complete waste of my time. The whole scheduling process could have been handled much more professionally and efficiently. Please avoid this facility by all means unless you don't mind wasting a few hours just to book an appointment! read more

My parents waited more than an hour and after the hour the receptionist took another 30 minute lunch which she really didn't need since it looked like she's been eating all day or her whole life. I have good experiences coming here for X-rays. The staff in both offices are helpful. It is challenging to call and get through. There are times I've been on hold for almost an hour. I end calling other locations to make an appointment for the office I have want. Today I had an ultrasound done and the tech was "doing her job." She was curt. She told me that if I didn't hold my breath correctly, she couldn't do her job. She seemed to get impatient at times. While maybe a good tech, she lacked empathy and a friendly attitude. read more

I would give a minus 5 stars if I there is such a rating. Per policy there is no need for an X-Ray appointment. I came in today for an X-Ray, waited for one hour while other 6 persons who came in for an X-Ray AFTER me got it done. Is the system is broken then it needs to to revamp ! And to make matters worst, the X-Ray technician was very rude, had a VERY bad attitude problem by telling me NOT to come back and go to other locations. He needs to be taught how to treat patients and treat people with courtesy and respect. read more

Updating this review as the radiologist called and apologized for his negligence. He informed me that he had been using a dictation device to take his notes, but had not checked his work to make sure everything was noted correctly. When he called, he took the time to re-review my scan, fix his mistakes, and take a closer look to see if he missed anything the first time around. He also said he is always happy to speak to patients as it provided him more information to better analyze the scans. But, unfortunately, patients don't get a direct line to the radiologist, and so while I have updated my review and changed the one star to two stars, because of the radiologist's quick call (he called the very next business day after this initial review was posted) and genuinely apologetic behavior, the imaging center itself still deserves one star due to the front desk person's lack of common sense and unintelligent reaction. Here is the background: I came in for an abdominal and pelvic CT. The radiologist has messed up when writing down his findings and wrote "Evidence of acute appendicitis." He forgot the word "no" before the word "evidence." It should have read "No evidence of acute appendicitis". He also switched the word "ileum" and "liver". There were so many contradictions in his report. I received the report before my doctor did because she was in surgery. I immediately called the imaging center to see if they could talk to the radiologist to see if he had made a mistake. If I did have acute appendicitis, I would need to have emergency surgery. Knowing the accuracy of this information was vital. I didn't even get the report (and neither did my doctor) till Friday afternoon. There is no rationale reason for the delay. They told me only my doctor could request a radiologist to review his own work. Absolutely ridiculous. As patients we don't have any control over our health outcomes. I told the front desk person that if I do have appendicitis and there is any consequence to my health because of their delay in validating the report, they would liable. She said "I understand, but you just have to wait" Complete idiots. She then went on to say "well I'm just a front desk person." Great, be a front desk person somewhere where it doesn't require you to have a functional brain and common sense and there is no consequence if you don't advocate for what is right. Don't work in healthcare. Have a moral compass or leave the industry. Healthcare unfortunately has too many people in the field who simply don't care about patients; we don't need more of this callous behavior, Luckily my doctor is amazing and she pulled herself out of surgery to call the radiologist to check his work. I feel bad that she had to stop surgery to call the radiologist to make sure I didn't need to go into emergency surgery. If a patient is smart enough to realize there is a mistake in the report (because in some places he said my appendix was fine and in other places he said he was not--both can't be true), then the imaging center should reach out to the radiologist. You shouldn't have to pull a doctor out of surgery. Complete incompetence. I'm surprised this pace is not riddled with lawsuits. Even the radiologist agreed the imaging center should have called him for such an obvious mistake. Do not go here. read more

VRI is not my favorite medical group but this site is definitely one of their best ones. Went to the East side location with dozens of people in line. Drove ten minutes to here and was seen in 15. Very professional staff and very well run. read more

My wife went in for an upper-body X-ray in February 2022. The front desk was fine. However, one technician, a tall (est 6ft-2) middle-aged balding male, possibly named Kelly, was extremely rude to us. This was our first time at the place, and when my wife was called upon to the examination room, I was walking alongside accompanying my wife, as I was not aware there's no waiting area beyond the hallway. The technician yelled, borderline screaming, at me with an extremely condescending voice and disrespectful stare uttering something along the line of "Don't you know there's a thing called Covid? Get out." Later I learned from my wife that the technician had initiated multiple unnecessary physical contacts when trying to fix the apron on her. The experience made my wife extremely uncomfortable. I'd suggest people to take caution when encountering this individual piece of work. read more

This would be zero stars if possible. It's funny they call themselves a Women's Center as if they are proactive and generally interested in your well-being as opposed to solely being focused on a paycheck. I needed an emergency diagnostic mammogram. Naturally, it is scheduled a month out. During that month no one in the office was competent enough to double-check my insurance. When I arrived (I drove 30 miles for this) the woman at the front desk kept fiddling with the computer but did not understand why there was a red flag on my appointment. She told me to wait until a specific person in the office returned from lunch because she knew the system better?? Turns out they no longer accept my insurance. Then, the front desk woman wants to hold onto my insurance card in case they need to speak to someone else. What?? No. Please return my card so I can leave. She kept me there longer for no reason. I find a place that I know accepts my insurance. They request past images/records from VRI to use as comparison 3 different times. NO ONE from medical records responds. My mammogram has been on hold because of these records. Now I'm 2 months out from the beginning of this ordeal. Most likely the new place will proceed without the previous images. Great job Women's Center. Thank you for contributing to my possible cancer. Hope you never have to go through the same ordeal. read more

I spent TWO (2) hours on March 30, 2023, attempting to schedule a follow-up Mammogram to no avail. I called the number on the appointment slip VRI gave me: 408-283-9179. After waiting for an hour and eight (8) minutes, I finally got someone on the line and was transferred to another number 408-297-4591. When asked, the clerk who answered my call told me to try this second number first next time I want to schedule an appointment. VRI needs to trash/recycle their outdated appointment slips!!!!!!!! So, I was on hold for the second time, listening to the same old greeting for almost an hour when suddenly the greeting stopped and the phone call was disconnected. I called their office on McKee Road 408-964-1000 afterwards. The greeting lasted less than 10 minutes when the phone call was disconnected. There are better ways of handling appointment scheduling, but they adopt the very primitive way, not taking advantage of the computer technology. What good is to have State of Art Imaging Technology but not State of Art Customer Services??!! If I can do without VRI, I will. read more

Came here after visiting 2 other VRI locations. My son needed X-rays for scoliosis & his pediatrician gave us a VRI Form to take with us. Went to McKee location first. Told us only Good Sam location does the Scoliosis X-rays. Got to good sam & come to find only this location does it. Drove another 10 mins. Arrived here at about 1040a today. It was super fast. Receptionist was nice. We were in & out in less than 15 mins. read more

My wife isn't very comfortable with English, and when she went in for x-ray, the technician YELLED and SCREAMED at her for not understanding his instructions right away. He stared her down and was EXTREMELY RUDE. Nobody deserves this kind of treatment. If any manager at this location is reading this, do better and ensure no one else gets such mistreatment. The receptions are highly unprofessional. They do not implement the meaning of the word professionalism. I say this in all truth- they treated every single customer/patient who walked in with a bad attitude. It was, frankly, disgusting. I am strongly considering paying for medical insurance every month. They didn't do it to me because I have a strong presence and don't put up with malice. But the poor people who were mistreated one after the other...it was cringing. And awful. These women, especially the receptionist in #220, are insecure about themselves and get off on the mistreatment of the patients. It was easy to see. She COLD transfered me...no one was on the line. I called back and told her this is a hard time for some women you're lack of knowledge makes ot harder. Oh my! This place is one hot mess. Super long wait- not enough chairs in the waiting room and they had NO clue what my co payment was. I have a PPO and pay a fixed percentage but no- they wanted a co payment. They need to make appointments to control the number of people in the waiting room and they also need to let people know the approximate wait time prior to telling them to take a seat. They told me to take a seat at 11 am and then around 1150 started telling people it was lunch time and they were looking at 1 to 1 1/2 hour wait. There are plenty of X-ray facilities out there that run a lot smoother and take appointments. I will not be returning. read more

No surprise now that I've read previous reviews. The tall, elderly male x-ray technician was extremely rude, culturally insensitive and extremely unprofessional. He should not be working with the public. He didn't believe me when I told him my first name, asked in different ways if I had been born in this country and was in disbelief when I told him I was. He laughed at me when I told him that due to my scoliosis I appear to be leaning in pictures, although he did correct himself and said he shouldn't be laughing. This is a long overdue review. Wish there's a zero star for this image center! I had a particularly disheartening experience with the billing department. They didn't submit several claims to insurance company for me. I was told on the phone that my payments went to my deductible. But even though I needed to pay every penny out of my pocket, they still should've submitted my claims to insurance company! Otherwise why I was asked to show my insurance card every time and most importantly, how could my deductible be met??? Also, I couldn't make appointment on the phone every time I called the appointment line. After many attempts, I found it's just impossible. I spent the entire morning trying to call this office -- first call was made at around 9:30, listened to music and recorded voice for 44 minutes. i had to hang up for a meeting to run to. Then after the meeting, i called again, this time, another 35 minutes before I had to run to another business I had to get to. This is the last time I tried and I have been on hold for 30+ minutes already and got so desperate that I started typing this review. This is so pathetic. I had been to Ciro for more than 10 years. Administrative staff quality had gone down! 1. Staff should not have charged me for the service up front since I presented my Platinum PPO insurance card. Normally, I just pay copay up front. 2. Since I paid for entire service, VRI did not file insurance claim. I had to call both insurance and VRI billing. 3. When they filed, something went wrong so that insurance did not pay them. I had to make another call to insurance to resolve this! 4. Another two weeks gone by, I did not receive the reimbursement check from VRI since they were paid by insurance! I had to pick up phone and call again! All these trouble can be saved if administrative staff did not charge service up front! Billing people suggested me not to pay up front next time with valid insurance card. read more

I am on hold for 10+ minutes. I have shit to do. I tried 0 for operator. I have been hung up on when I got desperate and tried a random extension. Whiled typing this, I finally got thru and scheduled with the samaritan location. The person I spoke to seemed nice enough. Even still, I would not choose this imaging group. read more
