Horrific company, left my type 2 Diabetes 97 year old father without the Dr ordered three times a week care for his infected osteomyelitis toe following a debridement done by his podiatrist who ordered three dressing changes a week. They performed 1 dressing change the first week and 1 the second week. Several times he called he was told someone will call you at night to schedule tomorrow and no one ever did. He was told someone would be out on a Saturday, no one showed up or bothered to call. On the following Thursday he was told someone would call that night to schedule an appointment the following day-never received a call. Friday he called and was told someone would be out the following day-Saturday again. I called with my above concerns, was put on hold for 30 minutes to spoken to rudely by a nurse in the office that was extremely unprofessional & rude & told me "If he has a problem, take him to ER." This is totally unacceptable behavior for a health care service provider. I am speaking as a Registered Nurse for 45 years who worked in all aspects of healthcare including home health-if this is how patients are treated they should not be in business. They obviously do not have the staff or interest to cover the San Fernando valley and should not be contracted with Kaiser. read more

Had an amazing experience with Medquest. Can only say great things. My cousin was on their services and she received care for PT and SN. As someone in health care, i know the ins and outs of the system, and I can say they did a great job. They were very thorough both with working directly with their office staff and their field nurses in addition to their physical therapists. My recent experience with Medquest has proven to be less than stellar with a lack of accountability, clear communication, transparency and unresponsiveness towards this patient contributing to the impediment of the healing process due to the heightened uncertainty and stress. Case in point: Kaiser Senior Advantage patient residing alone had 2 total knee replacements (yes, at same time; 1 & done) with Skilled Nursing Facility Discharge Plans designating Physical Therapy (PT), Occupational Therapy (OT) (list of 10 Activities of Daily Living needed) and Home Health Nurse. Medquest evaluators for PT & OT conducted in-home assessments within the first week of discharge. They both, independently, submitted requests for a rollator (walker with seat) because the wheelchair was too heavy (forbad lifting over 10 lbs) and cumbersome (nonremovable leg rests, would not fit through many areas of the home). It took 4 emails, numerous phone conversations, an urgent Durable Medical Equipment (DME) request email, as well as, a personal call from one of the evaluators to finally receive the rollator 2 weeks later. More than 3 weeks elapsed from discharge before the Nurse Evaluator conducted the in-home assessment; upon filing a complaint. Based on the pre/post-operation letter, discharge plan and the evaluators returning in 4 weeks for follow-up, I was under the impression there would be several in-home PT/OT sessions in preparation for outpatient PT. However, Medquest was unwilling to share with its patient specific goals for patient achievement, the length of the therapy session, frequency and duration resulting in excessive angst. In addition, to missed opportunities to safely and securely ambulate, balance, single-leg pivot and transfer ascending/descending stairs with a rollator and vehicle transport during this critical recovery period. The therapists were quick to point out they were "independent contractors" often working for multiple agencies implying no accountability to anyone. What I presumed was a getting to know the patient barrage of irrelevant questions was actually a method of distraction to discourage the patient from requesting more than the 10 min prescribed 5 exercises. When the patient did request specific skills, the therapist promised to comply later on in subsequent sessions or offered an excuse to delay to the next session. Only there was no next session because, unbeknownst to the patient that was the last 10 min session. The patient was then, obligated to submit an appeal for more sessions which Medquest ultimately denied. The discharge plan specifically delineated OT ambulation, transfer and transport MD/other. Although, inquiring a few times, never received a response as to who, PT or OT or both would/could provide the aforementioned specialized supervised therapist ambulation, transferring & transport training services. Once again, Medquest sent an OT creating uncertainty with no information to the patient regarding specific goals for patient achievement, length of the therapy session, frequency and duration. This was another missed opportunity to receive all the services in an unbeknown limited one-time session wrought with the therapist's personal medical stories and 5 exercises. To date, home bound 43 days and counting, Medquest provided only 1 specialized skill set for 2 staircase entrances by a supervised therapist on the 37th day to ensure the high fall risk patient learned to safely and securely ambulate, balance, single-leg pivot and transfer ascending/descending 2 different sets of stairs with a rollator and vehicle transport continuing to neglect the needs of its patient. It took Medquest 3 weeks to say a nurse could not treat ingrown toenails necessitating an outpatient podiatry appointment; another reason to need training on how to properly enter/exit home with stairs and vehicle with DME. IF, Medquest had provided the appropriate services in a timely manner, patient would have been in full recovery by now with the ability to walk long distances unassisted, swim, drive instead of being home bound for more than a month. In a recent follow up phone call with the surgeon who referred to me as a 'prisoner', he indicated there were no Medquest PT reports for him to review my progress. Furthermore, a medical condition treated 15 yrs ago with surgery has presumably resurfaced due to the stress created in the numerous attempts/complaints to obtain the aforementioned services. Also, interesting to view a Medquest web page still "under construction" as it pertains to patients in this year of 2025. I hope this review is helpful to patients and family members forced to interface with Medquest. Best of luck! read more

I want to thank Medi-Quest for having Nurse Sheryl Wilson in your employment. She is the most caring, competent nurse I have ever had. She takes the time to exam me, patiently listen to and answers my questions. She has comforted me when I have been upset or sorry for myself. Even if she is running late (since she was probably giving another patient extra care and has had a long day) , she always makes her visit and still is as attentive and caring. Sometimes she has contacted doctors or their office since I have been unable to get through in response to their message. My husband refers to her as "Nurse Nightingale". Her personality and humor are 2 of her many assets. We look forward to her cheery arrival announcement on her visting days. read more

I wanted to express my appreciation for Nurse Meriel. She has been coming to visit my mother since the end of December. Nurse Meriel has been wonderful. She's caring and has definitely gone above and beyond! She is so thorough during her visits and has been so helpful and knowledgeable. It's been 3 days post discharge from the hospital for orthopedic surgery for my grandma. Medquest keeps telling us that someone will be in contact. My grandma has needed a physical therapy evaluation since she got home and is a high fall risk. This is the worst company we have ever worked with. Unfortunately Kaiser contracts with them so we are stuck. Hopefully this doesn't happen to you or your family. We will be filing a complaint with CMS. read more

My experience with the office of Medquest in Tarzana, CA was difficult, frustrating, and chaotic. I was a referral from Kaiser Hospital. I was provided with a exceptional physical therapist, John, who helped me immensely. My sessions with the John ended so I needed to contact my Kaiser doctor to approve another 8 sessions of PT. My doctor immediately approved another 8 sessions. Medquest seemed totally unable to arrange my sessions for me through Kaiser or my Doctor. Many attempts by myself, Kaiser and my doctor to schedule my PT sessions were futile. TWO months passed and still no physical therapist appointment or physical therapist were provided to me. At that point my doctor at Kaiser made a referral for a physical therapist from another company. Please save yourself from dealing with the office of Medquest Tarzana. Save yourself the frustration. The first time they stall or lie to you, RUN, don't walk away. read more
