Had an evening appointment to get an MRI on 1/10/25. Sadly, I didn't get the name of the radiologist who assisted me. She was awesome. She made sure that I was comfortable, had jazz playing in the headphones (asked if I was ok with jazz or if I wanted something else). She did a great job reminding me that it would be loud in the device. It would be great if all technicians were as good as she was. After being diagnosed with tendinitis in my shoulder, I struggled with significant pain and limited mobility. Initially, I hoped my shoulder would heal on its own, but when that didn't happen, I knew I had to seek professional help. Upon receiving recommendations for local physical therapy offices, I made a fortuitous choice in selecting Medstar Brandywine. I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to my physical therapy lead, Youjin Lee. The expertise and compassion I experienced in her care were truly extraordinary. Ms. Lee's deep understanding of shoulder anatomy and her strategic approach to my treatment were both enlightening and reassuring. What stood out most was her ability to clearly communicate her insights to me, empowering me to engage meaningfully in my therapy journey. I have never experienced a ruder set of personnel at the reception desk every time I have gone in. It actually seems as if the are inconvenienced by dealing with patients. The first orthopedic i saw also seemed as if he was bothered by having to see patients. I will go elsewhere as soon as they finish this procedure. I do not recommend this place to anyone. read more

My wife was discharged from the hospital with instructions to see a cardiologist. We made an appointment with Dr. Lundergan at the recommendation from friends. The earliest appointment we could get was in Brandywine- 90 minutes from our home. We showed up for our 3:30 pm appointment at 3:15. At 4:15 we asked when she would be seen. It turns out she was "scanned but not checked in" and Dr Lundergan had already left the facility!!! The office manager was able to make an appointment for later in the week at the Leonardtown office. But why would they let us sit here without even talking to us? NOT COMING BACK HERE! read more

The staff are rude and unprepared. The check-in system is "down" and the employee said they keep a "system down" sign up because if they allow more than 6 registrations the system crashes. When I arrived on time for my appointment, I waited in my car until they sent a text message to come in for my appointment. Upon arriving, there was absolute chaos with people stacked together waiting for their appointment along with walk-in patients. One man said this was his second time attempting to have his labs done because his doctor is upstairs and he walked out in frustration. The staff were behind a locked door with no one there to provide instructions. So far, I have waited for 30 minutes AFTER being summonsed to come in for my appointment. They are disorganized and rude. Others waiting said "it's always like this." More stafff should be hired and the manager should be removed from their position--this is unacceptable. read more

This review is strictly about their policies. First off they don't take Apple Pay. Even though their urgent care facilities do, their surgical ambulatory center does not. This was not disclosed to me before I got there. It was a spectacle! The lack of information regarding accepted payments now became my inconvenience! No Apple Pay, no cash. Only check or credit card! I let the front desk know that I specifically didn't cancel my Navy Federal Card because I still had Apple Pay linked to my account and wasn't going to replace the card until after paying. They called the manager and someone else and then had some RN tell me they could "possibly" switch my daughter's surgery time with someone else or cancel my daughter's surgery because they weren't going to provide her care without the money upfront. Be mindful when choosing this facility that they do in fact have discriminatory practices when it comes to ability to pay. Thank God that I was able to call my S/O and have him transfer money to an account I had a physical card for. Be ready for 50% or nothing! Jennifer E (the manager) really won't work with you when it comes to arrangements either. Although Jennifer L made it very clear that any arrangements other than 50% had to go through the manager. Why talk to Jennifer E then? As a person who works in medical we never deny or delay care based on ability to pay. We are invested in our practice but we also are compassionate to financials as well. read more

I can't say enough good things about Dr. Cestare and his whole team. This was my second injection for back pain. He is the only pain management doctor who allowed me to be sedated. The whole team at the Brandywine surgical center were kind, professional and compassionate. My appointment was at 9:30, I was promptly escorted in the back, my procedure was scheduled for 11:00 but I was seen at 10:30. Everyone explained their portion of the procedure in great detail. Dr. Greenberg, Maternal Fetal Specialist, I felt so disrespected at my appointment because instead of focusing on my pregnancy and baby's anatomy, she focused on our IVF process. I was really irritated with her line of questioning. After stating that my baby's heart was normal she ordered a echocardiogram anyway while I'm 5 months pregnant and when I told her I didnt have that done during my last pregnancy she didn't believe me. I was so pissed off after this appointment, I do not want to see her again. There are so many women who have unsuccessful IVF cycles but that was not our case. I've been truly blessed to have 2 successful IVF full term pregnancies back to back at over 50 years of age, I'm extremely healthy and thank God for my beautiful children. However, Dr. Greenberg made me feel less than and kept trying to find something wrong when all my blood work and ultrasounds at now 5 months pregnant are normal. read more

Visited this venue today for an MRI. The building itself is only about 2 years old and is still in very good shape. Plenty of parking and it's easy to get to off of Route 301. I arrived about 15 minutes early, and was seen about 30 minutes after my scheduled appointment. All the staff were top-notch, friendly and efficient and knew what they were doing. I went to primary care just to get a regular check up and get some blood work done. The front desk was helpful and so was the nursing assistant. The staff in general was friendly. The facility is new so the place is very tidy and organized. I came in like an hour early and they were able to accept me in early instead of having me waiting which was great. I was seen by NP Tamika Jones and she was so sweet. Very knowledgeable and educated on me on the inquiries I was asking. She gets back to you quickly on the patient portal as well. I want to get my blood work done downstairs and the staff down there was nice too! It was quick doctors appointment bc they're efficient in there. So I was definitely satisfied and would go back. read more

My experience with Medstar Brandywine was one of the worst medical experiences I've ever had. Having used Medstar services for years before this at Southern MD Hospital and Washington Hospital Center I felt confident I would receive the same stellar service, but I was completely wrong. The first issue I had was not being able to contact the doctor. After leaving my initial appointment on the afternoon 6/6/19 with Dr. Bridges I remembered I had a question to ask the doctor as I was driving home. I called the office number, followed the prompts and was instructed to leave a message for the "triage nurse". I left my message and awaited a response. After receiving no response to my question by the next day (6/7/19), I logged into the Patient Portal and sent my question to the doctor using the online messaging method. I received a response later that afternoon telling me that they had received my voicemail and were forwarding it to the doctor and to allow 3-4 business days for a response. This response showed how pointless and inefficient Medstar's messaging system was as they thoughtlessly sent me a reply just to tell me they had received my voicemail, but still had not answered my question. That makes absolutely no sense. So, I said fine I can wait 3-4 days as the question was concerning medical forms and not life and death. Well 3-4 days turned into 2 WEEKS as my question was finally answered on JUNE 24th! Totally unacceptable! So, at this point I was late turning in my medical leave paperwork and behind 2 weeks in pay. This issue eventually was resolved, and the paperwork was signed and submitted. Bottom line it should not take 2 weeks to answer a question, regardless if the doctor is busy or not. The second issue occurred as I attempted to get my medical leave extension paperwork processed by Dr. Bridges. After submitting the paperwork to the doctor on 7/16/19, I waited for the mandatory 7-10 day waiting period to complete the forms. I returned to the office to pick up my paperwork 10 days later and upon arriving I was informed that the paperwork had not been filled out and might have been left in the doctors out/ingoing folder since I dropped it off back on the 16th. The front desk staff and paperwork processing office told me to wait around for 20-30 minutes while they worked to get the paperwork filled out by the doctor. I must say the only saving grace to this office is the STELLAR and POLITE front desk staff. They work so hard to keep the patients happy when it comes to dealing with what seems like the doctor's constant incompetence. After a small wait I was given my paperwork and I was able to submit it to my job. The third and final issue which I am still dealing with now is yet another admin/paperwork issue. I submitted a simple 1 sheet form from my work requesting verification of care I received to be filled out by the doctor. This was submitted on 9/11/19, again I allowed the 7-10 days for processing. I went to the office on 9/18 to see if the paperwork had been completed and of course it had not been. I was also told that Dr. Bridges was no on vacation for two weeks and wouldn't return until the first week of October. So, now I must wait until she returns in October to have this form completed. Totally unacceptable when it was submitted long before she went on vacation. This experience at Brandywine Medstar was one of the most frustrating medical experiences I have ever been through. As a patient who may be unable to reach the office, disabled due to surgery or a debilitating injury, Medstar Brandywine makes sure to make your experience with them even more excruciating than the reason for which you are seeing the doctor in the first place. I would NEVER recommend this office to anyone, if not for the awesome front desk staff this office would be complete waste. Very disappointed that a quality organization like Medstar would allow practices like this to occur. read more

I came here today to have surgery. I want to applaud all the staff here. I first met with the insurance verifier and she was so nice and professional and helped calm me because I was nervous. She explained all my paperwork to me and made sure all that correct. Next I got called back by one of my nurses. She explained what was going to happen and took my vitals once I got dressed in my gown and socks. All of the nurses were helpful and made sure I was good. The anesthesiologist came and talked to me before my surgery and asked about my allergies and if I had any concerns. I would say I was in great hands and if I ever had to come back I would come here. read more

The one decent lady at the front desk (Tina) that I always had do my scheduling no longer works here either. She was the only one that took the time to listen and make sure things were done properly. I had an ENT appointment at 1 PM today. I arrived at 12:45 PM and was called at 12:58 PM for check-in to be told the doctor was not in. At that point, I was lied to and told they called my voicemail and that my mailbox was not setup. None of my contact information has changed and someone (not Medstar Brandywine) had left a message on my home voicemail a few hours earlier and I've had my cell number for over 17 years. It's sad that incompetent administrative staff cause doctor's to lose patients. I even asked if someone else could see me today and was told no (not even an NP). I tried calling to Medstar Brandywine to speak to office management but was on hold too long. My experience today was unacceptable and I will not be returning. read more

Labcorp personnel looked sick. Also touched the collection needle with bare fingertips and bare fingertips to my skin as she was trying to find a vein. Blood test should have been ordered stat and was not. It came back positive. Was ordered STAT imaging for blood clots. Went to imaging place and​ they had no orders. Now I can't get anyone on the phone. read more
