This location is slow like molasses, even when they are not busy they will take their sweet time. Staff are lazy and get distracted very easily. On a positive, they move you through the check in process fairly efficiently. A one stop shop where you can get treatment and prescriptions but you will loose year off your life that you cannot get back. Pack your patience and your jacket (burr)! read more

Although this particular experience wasn't pleasant, I've had good experiences in the past. Focusing on the positives- upon arrival, I was able to check in with the kiosk and wait in the car for check in. That process took less than 10 minutes. I was called by the check in technician, Hana. Upon sitting down, she immediately seemed angry and annoyed. I had my young daughter with me that is experiencing flu symptoms. Upon sitting in her chair for 10+ minutes, she made 3 phone calls to verify my daughter's insurance, loudly arguing with all 3 telephone technicians in the process. It was embarrassing for myself and my daughter. She had zero patience or empathy and would not listen to what the people over the phone were saying. She never successfully verified my daughter's insurance- her colleagues came and told her to just process my daughter without verification. From that point, we were almost immediately called back by the nurse or technician Elisa doing vitals- who was an angel in comparison. She is the reason for the positive experience and the reason I didn't leave out with my daughter. Also, the nurse Carla was extremely supportive, nice and funny. The facility itself was both kept up well but also a bit dirty and run down with some equipment which could be from the amount of patients that come in daily. I personally would not return unless I ultimately had to, or, at least, would arrive with my insurance people already in the line to avoid the headache of rude check in personnel. read more

Went for a covid test, like many others. Nurse not wearing mask. Told him I'm pretty sick, pretty sure it's covid. Nurse still did not put on mask. To see alleged medical professionals acting as though we aren't still in the middle of a pandemic is really concerning. Why are nurses not wearing masks?! What is wrong with you people. I'll rate this place based on the 3 stages of my . Check in: I arrived as soon as they opened, I checked in on one of the touch screen devices. I waited about 20 minutes and one of the receptionist called me back to get my contact info, insurance, etc. The receptionist was boarderline rude. She was dry, lacked compassion, and it seemed like she doesn't enjoy her job. Vitals: The nurse who took my blood pressure, temperature, and height/ weight was phenomenal. She was kind, gentle, and I really appreciated her overall demeanor, her name was Mary. Diagnosis: The physician I had Ms. Davis, she was very kind and seemed knowledgeable on my ailment. They should've stopped charging people copays for this horrible service a long time ago. We got here at 8pm and we're done after 1030pm all for the PA or doctor. I'm not sure because she didn't introduce herself came in. Asked the same questions as the person who took us to the room. Then said: You should go to the Er because it "sounds" like an appendix issue but we don't have the capability to do xrays or ultrasound. Huh?? Why not? There is absolutely nothing urgent about this place. I checked in at 3:00 and I'm currently sitting in the back room at 6:51 and still have not seen a doctor. No one even acknowledged us until 6:20 to let us know we were next, it's been 30 minutes since we've been told that. I am also in the medical field, therefore I understand emergencies and long wait times can happen but this outrageous (they had 3 doctors at this time) The front desk staff is far from warm and welcoming. Today I stopped by to get a COVID test because I've been exposed to someone who has COVID in my house hold. Physician Assistant Shauntel Davis denied me a COVID test, was extremely rude and lied about it being against their policy to do rapid tests. It's unfortunate that we seek and trust these health care providers and it seems as though she doesn't want to work and was ready to go home. I'm unsure how to rate this review, as I had an extremely positive interaction with a gentleman named Steve earlier this afternoon. I arrived at this location at 4:47pm for a COVID-19 test appointment at 4:50pm. Per signage, if I had not received an email confirmation, I was to call 240.427.1926 to inform them I'd arrived. I called the line and was placed on hold, where I was kept for 13 minutes before I called from another line to get a person on the phone. By this time, I'd been in the parking lot 15 minutes, and a woman named Tanya finally picked up the call and told me I'd missed my appointment. I assured her that I'd been sitting in the parking lot this while time, waiting on hold and I should not miss my appointment due to their disregard for my call. Tanya then get extremely nasty with me, and told me to 'calm down' as this was a 'miscommunication'. I tried to assure her there was no miscommunication, that I'd been overlooked, and she told me she was 'not going to to back and forth with me'. I was totally taken aback, yet placed another hold. Tanya came back on the line and informed me she could schedule me, and at this time, 5:25pm, I just received a call to come in. Tanya also informed me, if I ever call again, to hang up and call back, that I never should've waited on hold that long. Apparently, me being patient and waiting on hold was somehow a fault of mine, which of course is extremely frustrating to hear after sitting here all of this time. Great urgent care for kids. This location is especially good as I've been to other patient firsts which weren't very kid friendly. This one has equipment and doctors which knew how to treat my 5 year old. The other in VA said they had rarely done X-rays and such on little kids. They are also good for us grown ups. The wait can feel long, an hour from start to finish but my primary dr is just as bad so it's just the way things are nowadays! Love that I can get my diagnosis and medication all in one place without a high specialist or emergency room copay. read more

I arrived at Patient First on 08/03/2021 at about 9:35pm and registered through self check in. Using the self check-in process, you are "supposed to receive a text message when the staff is ready for you"while you wait in your vehicle if this option is chosen. At 9:50pm, I noticed that there was no text nor phone call from Patient First, while I was parked directly in front of their building so I proceeded to wait in the inside of the facility. While waiting for over an hour and a half, I see patients getting checked in and out, meanwhile I'm patiently waiting for my call to be seen. Not once did a staff member ask me had I been seen or if they could assist me. So finally about 11:05pm hits and I get up to speak with someone. There was nobody at the receptionist window (hadn't been for over 30 minutes) and I waited for nearly 15 minutes for someone to even see what I needed. When the receptionist finally questioned what I needed and I explained that I had been there since 9:35pm waiting to be seen, she goes on to state, "Oh, we aren't taking any more patients. We must have cancelled if you didn't answer your phone." I explained to her my phone has been on the whole entire time with no call nor text. I have verified my phone settings and absolutely nothing was blocked. So long story short, I wasted about 2 hours of my time waiting for them to call for me although they cancelled on me without no legit explanation. What is bothersome is that this would have never happened in a Caucasian area. They would have at least seen the patient out of courtesy knowing someone had been waiting that long due to their carelessness. This is absolutely UNACCEPTABLE! Not to mention, COVID rates are high and myself and the child that was with me was exposed to other sick patients as we were forced to wait this long. This is UNACCEPTABLE! I will be contacting all platforms possible for Patient First with this review for this facility. read more

I should have been sent to the hospital immediately for severe dehydration after not drinking water for nearly 3 days. I was barely able to walk due to extreme dizziness and vomiting while at Patient First. Instead, I was given a cup of water, told to drink plenty of water and sent home. I missed 3 days of work instead of one day on the IV. read more

Miss diagnosed 3 times and had to fight with a doctor to get a test run only for it to be positive. Were told we had pneumonia and put on medication. I will never return to this place again. RN Keisha Williams was extremely rude and uncaring toward my son who was diagnosed with a broken clavicle tonight. As we were leaving, she approached my son about removing his gown. He did not want to remove it because he was in pain. She told me he had to remove it because the cost of that gown would be deducted from their pay. I told her I would buy it and she refused, instead trying to force my son to put on a paper gown because of their "policy". I could not believe the complete lack of compassion and concern for my son's obvious pain. To say I lost it is an understatement. That woman should definitely not be in the field of medicine in any capacity. Horrible experience and I do not recommend this place at all if you are in pain. I've been here twice in the past few months - once for a migraine and the second time for an upper respiratory infection. The first time was a weekday evening. I was seen quickly, given some rescue medication, and sent home with additional medications (they fill perscriptions on site, so no waiting for a drugstore). I believe the entire process took 2 hours (but most of it was after the shots, so not nearly as bad as waiting in pain). The second time was a weekday afternoon during cold and flu season. That visit took 4 hours to get antibiotics. They wanted me to take decongestants, so gave me a script to get filled at the drugstore (they were out at the in house pharmacy). I found out when I picked them up that they were OTC, so I didn't need to wait for the pharmacy to try to bill my insurance, etc. I docked one star for that (would have been faster for me and the pharmacy techs if they just said "buy this OTC medicine"). Overall, the wait is about what I've come to expect from critical care/ER facilities (slammed during cold/flu season). The onsite pharmacy is a nice touch (when they have what you need). The doctors are pleasant. When they've done the diagnosis, the computer spits out a bunch of receipt sized papers on what's wrong with you, what you should do, etc (which is nice to review when you get home or don't remember talking to the doctor because of the migraine medication). When I got antibiotics, the papers even recommended taking probiotics to help prevent stomach problems, so they seem pretty through (if you read the papers). read more

I am always hesitant to go to these "urgent care" places because I feel like the doctors are sometimes inexperienced or "amateurish". I normally go to Nighttime Pediatrics (which is MUCH better, I must say) but I thought I'd give Patient First a try. I feel like the trip to Patient First was a waste of time and money! The place was clean and looked nice. The wait time could've been better, which is a common criticism of any medical care facility. The doctor was very, very hasty with me!!! I was so perturbed by her. She really didn't seem to care about what I had to say about what was going on with me, as it seems she determined my diagnosis from the pre-screening. I explained to her what I KNEW was my diagnosis (which was Upper Respiratory Infection) and she diagnosed it as something else. I am so familiar with my body and these symptoms because I get the URI almost every year! Then, the medication she prescribed caused so many side effects that I thought I was having an allergic reaction! I will NOT recommend this place. I will wait DAYS to see my primary care doc or try my chances with Nighttime Pediatrics (by the way, they see adults too)! read more
