My very elderly dad was taken to the St. Joe ER rather than his usual hospital as it was closer to…read morehis home. We heard about bad reviews so we were surprised how well he was treated. He probably went through ER fairly fast as he had a severe breathing issue. He saw plenty of different doctors because he had several issues, the 5th floor nurses were great and helpful to answer our questions. Only issue was communication with the food service - since Dad was on a special diet they sent him wrong stuff a few times. After almost 2 weeks, he recovered enough and got into the rehab wing where he has a big private room and 3 different therapists to keep him busy.

My wife's room had breakfast, lunch and dinner tray let on counter in room. Had a garbage can next to her head at the side of her bed. We had to ask for her meds versus the nurse coming in when the meds we're to be given. I had to empty the porta potty because they were not. I was worried about my wife eating so I bring lunch for her and when the nurse seen it she cancelled my wife's dinner. What the hell is that about?! The black nurse with an accent was by far the rudest. Write down nurse's name but left on bet table. However, the doctors were great. Thank you , doctors. In the future I will go to hospital in new Lenox.

I've been here a few times. The first I had diverticulitis and Dr argued with me that I didn't have…read morea fever so I couldn't have it. At home I had a fever. So rude. CT scan showed diverticulitis. Got script which from what I understand was not typical protocol. It worked though. Went several more times. Once I had a very sweet Dr who showed me my scan and how I was not absorbing any fluids as they were all seen on scan which she showed my husband and myself. She gave me some iv fluids and light pain meds and things started working again as I had to pee like crazy. Went home after a couple hours feeling better. Very kind Dr. 3rd time I was sent for a ct scan by my Dr because she felt a mass. The techs were nice but my contrast dripped out of my iv all over the place. They did not re-administer because she said scans were adequate. I still got charged for the contrast which is not cheap and this is not my first time so I know you r supposed to get a metallic taste and ferl it when it hits your privates. I did not get that as my contrast was on my gown bed and floor. Last time was December 2024. I was in massive pain all up my left side and had a uti. I felt it was up higher but the ct just showed bladder thickening so they blew off my extreme pain. The nurse actually gave me Tylenol for at least level 7-8 pain. I should have thrown it at her. I was treated poorly and my pain was dismissed. I certainly wouldn't have gone to the er for a simple uti. I will never go back there. One out of four was a good visit. Oh and they charge like $14k for a ct w contrast. I got a more recent one at advocate for around $2500.

So my sister had a bad case of vertigo and we went to the Silver Cross Immediate Care next to the…read moremain hospital where they confirmed what we had, did what few tests they could perform, and mentioned we really belonged in an Emergency Room. We found out the wait at the nearby Silver Cross Hospital ER was three hours, BUT Silver Cross also had a satellite facility in Homer Glen with all the same resources and very little wait ... so, we thought we'd give it a try. Glad we did. When we arrived there was only one person ahead of us, and we were promptly registered and given a room. Long and short ... we had an EKG, a brain scan, and blood tests quickly put in motion. They did the tests right there, the on-site MD reviewed them right there, and we were given appropriate medicines right there. So this facility has all the resources of the main ER ... with the exception of not having dozens of rooms and specialist MDs one might need. We think there were only about 8 ER rooms in Homer Glen. This was a very nice process and satellite ER. We would not hesitate to use this one again, and we suspect that as people realize there is a much faster alternative like this ... they may stop going to the Silver Cross Hospital ER. We guess it all depends on what ailment one has, and whether you are being brought in by ambulance or you drive here yourself. This Homer Glen facility is recommended.
