I have been going to Radiology Associates for all of my imaging for over 25 years. They have given…read moreme great care, it's easy to schedule, and my medical records are easy to access via their patient portal. My docs always get the reports within a few days. Today I had a lumbar epidural steroid injection by Dr Selph, an interventional radiologist who works for Radiology Associates. When I first saw him for an evaluation of treatment options for my pain, I was Refered by back surgeon Dr Sabatino. I had been told by Dr Sabatino that I had a compression fracture of the L5 vertebra. When Dr Selph looked at the same images, he said it was not that at all. Instead he found evidence that I had a more rare disc herniation where the disc material was extruded out through the tear, and ended up next to the L5 vertebra. This caused it to appear as bone marrow edema from a fracture, making options for repair completely different. I may have undergone a surgery that wouldn't have worked because of it. Instead Dr Selph did the epidural steroid injection and it has already begun to ease the pain I was experiencing. I can't say enough good things about Dr Selph. He is friendly, very intelligent, highly trained, and really good at explaining everything clearly to me. He showed me exactly what was going on my MRI, and explained exactly why he came to a different opinion on my diagnosis. I asked for Dr Selph to be the doc who did my epidural today, and again he was so good. I high recommend him to be the one who reads your imaging, and to be the one who actually does your procedures or surgeries. Apparently he is highly respected by his coworkers and the nurses couldn't say enough good things about his competence as a doctor, as well as his kindness and generosity as a person. You can't get better than that! I trusted him and it worked out well for me. I suggest you can trust him too!

I requested to have a few of my medical results give to me via CD and Mel at the front desk was kind and accommodating. I don't know where to start....,but this business shouldn't be serving people at all…read more Every time I go there there's always a problem, 1. Refusing to provide an automized receipts. 2. 30 minutes to an hour wait time 3.Ignorant, useless passive aggressive receptionists. Last time I visited there was on April for my sinus CT scan, the technician was 45 minutes late, I asked the receptionist if they are aware that I'm here and informed that I have to go to another appointment in SLO soon, she said it's gonna take few more minutes or if I would like to reschedule? I was the only person in the waiting area... Today I had my ENT doctor appointment and unfortunately this appointment wasn't productive at all because of "the five cities imaging" my doctor said the technician couldn't provide any specific details about my scan in a written report (measurements) etc...and the images weren't available to view, so the doctor asked me if I could go there and ask for a CD because (she tried to call them several times but it goes straight to voicemail) so she can view them and schedule me for a procedure ( it was urgent) we live in 2026... how hard it supposed to be to look at the pictures?... I understand everyone can make a mistake but refusing to fix them or help a patient is outrageous, especially when the insurance payed $700 and my portion was $300. So for a $1000 I can't even have an access to the stuff I payed for!!! This passive aggressive little Spanish female receptionist was useless but made sure to talk to me with a smile telling me there's nothing she can do about it. I left but when i got home i realized it's a dead end and I need to do something and advocate for myself.. came back and asked for a supervisor and got a reply "it's not going to help"? A guy receptionist tried to send me a links that were useless probably just like the one they sent to my doctor ,he suggested I should tell my dr to check her computer for malfunction??? eventually some lady came out to inform me there's nothing they can do about it other than I have to contact "medical records" to request the images of my sinus! They are unreachable over the phone, nor never respond to a voicemail we leave! Canceling appointments and then blaming you for not calling back to reschedule, meanwhile they have "wrong contact" information in my file and "texting to me to inform me of cancellation " I never got! I filed complaint to my insurance about this business and I hope others like me will do the same.. this is a small community and words can go around... so incompetent and unprofessional!

I arrived at 10 AM and the waiting room was full. Very odd. I check in and I'm told: "We are now a walk-in facility." But, uh, I made an appointment on Friday. "Yes, but now we are walk-in facility." Right, and you couldn't have called to tell me that? Every person who came in after me went through the same experience. I opted to wait and was told it would be "45 minutes." 90 minutes later I gave up, asked for my ID and insurance card back and head home. No x-rays done and a completely wasted morning. What finally made me leave was finding out all the back office staff were now "in a meeting," so they weren't even doing x-rays. I'd been told I was "next in queue" thirty minutes before. But, now they were "meeting." By the time they were done "meeting," they would like all need to "go to lunch." It was never ending. Even if they'd done the x-rays, they couldn't have gotten them to my doctor. Their "portal" is not set up with doctor's offices. Their "sales rep" has to visit all of the doctors to set them up on the portal. They are no longer doing CDs. My appointment is tomorrow. So, this would have been imaging that ended up in the ether with no way to access it. Don't waste your time. Go someplace else. Apologies to South Valley Imaging for leaving this review here. If there was a Simon Med Gilroy page, I would have left it there. I will need to explain to my doctor tomorrow why I am arriving with no x-rays. But, I will also tell him to never send imaging requests over there. It would have been faster, and more productive, if I'd driven up to Morgan Hill, or another town with a functioning office and systems.

Even when I get through on the phone, they say no one is available who can schedule me. Today I got a rep who identified herself as a new phone trainee. I asked to schedule an appointment yet again, and she said "sorry I can't do that. I will have to take your information and have a trained agent call you back." The agent whom I spoke with on the phone 10 days ago already promised that she would call me back when they had time to find my orders in their chaotic records system (orders already confirmed sent by my doctor and confirmed received by Adventist according to that rep.) No one has called me back yet. 10 days of waiting for a scheduling phone call is unacceptable. They have my orders. My doctor told me to go and schedule in person because they were impossible to deal with on the phone, and if I wanted to schedule I should go in person... she advised going elsewhere, but riding in the car with a broken back is painful. I thought "How bad can it be?". I should have listened. Going in to their offices in person was not easy for me considering my back is broken, but I managed it anyway. There was almost no parking within walking distance for me. When I got into the lobby, I had to stand in line for 40 minutes with no sitting option while the 2 people, who were supposed to be doing appointment scheduling and check-ins, were typing stacks of patient files into the computers at their stations. 1) Having only 2 receptionists out front for a business that deals with so many patients is critically low staffing... For instance San Luis Diagnosic almost always has at least 4 staff out front, more on the phones, and the employees out front don't take outside phone calls. At SLO Diagnostic those critical patient care staff members are not also tasked with entering thousands of sensitive patient records into a different patient records system. Whoever the site manager for Adventist Health is, they are woefully undereducated in patient care and employee health and wellbeing. If Adventist Health cares so little about patient care and even their own employee stress levels, why would they care about patient health behind the scenes or the accuracy of patient records in their care??? After 20 min of standing in line with a broken back and no chair, I sat down beside the indicated red circle on the floor where I was supposed to stand. I was admonished because the staff said they couldn't see me in line from the chair, even though there was a huge line of patients in line behind me going out the door. I finally stood up, walked up to the window at the back, and asked the supervisor when I and the people in line out the door behind me would be helped. She came forward and apologized for the long wait times. She was very kind and the first person who actually acknowledged my presence in the room. She asked me if she could help me herself. This kind woman said Adventist had tasked her 2 staff members to convert all of the patient records in the old Selma Carlson computer system to the Adventist Health Records system, and that the normal scheduling employees were completely overloaded doing required data entry for that project. What about hiring a dedicated records team to do that important work? People who actually do that kind of work for a living? Are the records of my MRIs so unimportant that employees who are already overloaded are tasked with inputting them under great stress with people in lines out the door, whom they are supposed to be helping, stand in long lines waiting... some very elderly or with broken backs like me, while they are told to ignore us? Adventist is already paid a lot more (30%+) for the same services without having to give good care, what motivation exists for them to improve anything about the patient's actual experiences with their facility? People who are sick and in pain often can't drive 30 miles away to seek better care elsewhere. Because my doctor sent the orders for my scans here, and they refuse to transfer them to a different company, I have to get completely new orders to be seen elsewhere... costing me even more time while I'm suffering without a clear diagnosis. I've never even heard of a medical professional refusing to forward orders to another provider for any reason. It's a clear home run of terrible service: 1) no trained personnel to do real patient interactions 2) an antiquated records system that isn't being updated by dedicated personnel 3) impossibly long 60m+ wait times for patients coming in for appointments or making simple appointments for services 4) no competent top level management oversight regarding employee management, patient care, confidential records handling, and patient scheduling.
