I thought my husband was going to have a heart attack, I guess I can understand charging that if you don't buy anything, but the fact that we did purchase six bottles, I would think would have given us a discount on that tasting fee. Luckily, with some research, I discovered the majority of counties in Georgia sell wine & beer on Sundays, and that it wasn't too far! About 30ish minutes from Point Park, Beverage World was there for us in our time of need. They had a good selection of beers and wines, and the staff were friendly. They also had jumbo sized tobasco flavored slim jims. Best part? On your first visit to the store, you get a free pint glass! Just for the heck it! Great find!

Although I'm not currently drinking, I am a wine lover and my bf appreciates a really fine bourbon and whiskey, so it was worth a peek inside. This place is huge! We visited on a Saturday and it was extremely clean, quiet and not incredibly busy, which I love. The store was quite organized, laying out the different types of spirits, beers and wines in a very clear way. They offered an insane variety of various brands, from local to international, low-cost to big bucks, there was really something in stock for everyone. We walked down a few aisles just seeing what they offered, welcoming my bf to give me some background on some of the finer options for sale in the whiskey/bourbon section. I did notice that there weren't many employees on the floor to help guide folks through the selections, but luckily I was there with my own connoisseur. When we went to find some ciders to take home, I was almost disappointed as there wasn't much variety in the fridges but when we went down another aisle, we found some great options that were on the shelf. Total Wine is a brand that I like and always have high expectations of regarding their selection. It's been a while since I've had questions, but love that their team is well-versed in what's available and are eager to assist if needed. When I visited it was packed! They had 3-4 lanes open checking people out and that really made all of the difference when it came to my checkout time. He wasn't even in line with me--he was simply browsing in another part of the store while I checked out. As I was paying, an older white employee came up and told me I couldn't purchase my items unless my husband showed his ID. I found this completely unreasonable. The store's policy says customers who appear under 30 will be asked for ID, yet my husband wasn't even making the purchase. The whole interaction felt unnecessary, embarrassing, and unprofessional. It left me wondering whether we were treated differently because of our race. Regardless, this is not good customer service, and the way the situation was handled made us feel unwelcome. We ordered 2 appetizers and a grain bowl to split. Appetizers are out quickly and were good. Our grain bowl never showed up. We finally asked the bartender if we could have it to go and she explained that it was on the ticket but never made. She went back to make it herself and brought it in a to go container. When we got home it was essentially a side salad missing the fundamental ingredient...grain. It was also missing several other ingredients. It blows my mind that we ordered 5 things, 2 were messed up, and we were charged for all of it. We got a half apology and a full priced bill.
