I was a bit worried reading mixed reviews, but I'm glad my kids (4y/o) got to experience the cafe…read more The interior is very cute and I could tell a lot of thought went into this play space. You do have to sign waivers for your kids before you play, I do believe you can sign them online if you want to save time. Adults and kids are required to have grippy socks and they have cubbies to place your shoes. Though, there were a lot of adults wearing their shoes through the area somehow.. the first play zone has tunnels and slides. Then you walk into another area with seating booths. Past that there is a dark area with water tables (fishing) and then a blacklight sandpit area. The sandpit is where my kids had a lot of fun, however there really isn't any seating to watch your kids if you need to, so prepare to get sandy too. I believe they have a private breastfeeding area around as well. The last area is very open. It has a baby area, cafe, a nice smaller play structure, and random things. One thing I will say some kids were a little wild on the push carousel, so if you have younger ones I definitely would watch that area. There are no employees that monitor any of the areas, so it is very parent driven. Ventilation is very poor. Cleanliness, pretty decent for having kids everywhere. Food: generic, but my kids ate it and my coffee was good. Came within an hour. Pro tip: bring change of socks for after because most likely you will have sand! My kids definitely didn't want to leave, so I'll be coming back.

And the theming is so fun :) It is always very clean and it was obvious to me that safety was taken very seriously. Which as a mom was top of my list! We booked a party for his birthday last month and it was perfect. So much fun for all the kids and I didn't have to clean or set up! It is a little pricey, but it felt more than worth it to me. The planner and hostess were both great and communication was great for us. Also yummy food and the coffee is good too, all of which was really affordable. Would love more kids meal options! My son doesn't have any allergies but if your kids do there are still lots of options. Highly recommend!! So happy this is now in our community.

As someone who has volunteered at the California Raptor Center in Davis, CA for 3 years (and counting) and is also a primary handler/trainer of two education ambassadors (a Swainson's Hawk and a Peregrine Falcon), as well as an aspiring falconer, I am pretty well-versed in raptors. Therefore, Cascades Raptor Center was a no-brainer stop on our trip. It was a pretty warm day, as OR had just experienced a heat wave. The raptor center overall was very well-kept, with over 30 education ambassadors on display. All the enclosures were very clean and organized. There were various trainers in several enclosures working with their respective birds when we went, and one volunteer even had a peregrine falcon out on glove for the public to enjoy up close and to ask questions about. We actually made it just in time for the last flight show of the season, and boy was it a blast!! Hans the Eurasian-Eagle-Owl was the star of the show, but I thoroughly enjoyed the entire program. As you can see in the photos below, I snapped some lovely shots of the birds with my DSLR. Here I am sharing some of my favorites. The admission fee was worth it, especially as the raptor center mainly functions from donations. We also shopped at the little gift shop after for some mementos to take home. I would love to revisit on our next trip to OR!

I was giving her a piggy back ride to read the rule board. not PDA. sorry I can't read far away without my glasses. we tried to tell them but they refused to listen. we were also harassed by a middle aged woman, but they did nothing about it. prices are great, but nighttime lifeguards do not take their job seriously. they chose to laugh around and play on their phones. I would think that there would be some emphasis on trying to encourage parents to swim with their children. Instead, they're catering to the folks who can afford an elite pool membership. They need to provide an unlimited single pool access pass for parents and children. How is acting like an exclusive, for profit club working towards community building? Their new price scheme is exclusive, to say the least. I just want to teach my children to swim, but they're charging over $20 a visit for my two children and me to swim.
