I was a bit worried reading mixed reviews, but I'm glad my kids (4y/o) got to experience the cafe. The interior is very cute and I could tell a lot of thought went into this play space. You do have to sign waivers for your kids before you play, I do believe you can sign them online if you want to save time. Adults and kids are required to have grippy socks and they have cubbies to place your shoes. Though, there were a lot of adults wearing their shoes through the area somehow.. the first play zone has tunnels and slides. Then you walk into another area with seating booths. Past that there is a dark area with water tables (fishing) and then a blacklight sandpit area. The sandpit is where my kids had a lot of fun, however there really isn't any seating to watch your kids if you need to, so prepare to get sandy too. I believe they have a private breastfeeding area around as well. The last area is very open. It has a baby area, cafe, a nice smaller play structure, and random things. One thing I will say some kids were a little wild on the push carousel, so if you have younger ones I definitely would watch that area. There are no employees that monitor any of the areas, so it is very parent driven. Ventilation is very poor. Cleanliness, pretty decent for having kids everywhere. Food: generic, but my kids ate it and my coffee was good. Came within an hour. Pro tip: bring change of socks for after because most likely you will have sand! My 6 year old son and I love this playcafe. SO much to do from huge play structures to water play! Honestly he has the time of his life every time we go. And the theming is so fun :) It is always very clean and it was obvious to me that safety was taken very seriously. Which as a mom was top of my list! We booked a party for his birthday last month and it was perfect. So much fun for all the kids and I didn't have to clean or set up! It is a little pricey, but it felt more than worth it to me. The planner and hostess were both great and communication was great for us. Also yummy food and the coffee is good too, all of which was really affordable. Would love more kids meal options! My son doesn't have any allergies but if your kids do there are still lots of options. Highly recommend!! So happy this is now in our community. read more

Took our 3 grandchildren. It was so darling! The decor is adorable, the water area and sand area is brilliant, and the idea that is is geared for those 48" and smaller is wonderful! - So many places are geared for the older kids (which they are welcome here, but asked to play gently) --- It was just a really nice environment for the little kids. The kids had a blast. Ages 2, 3, and 5 months (ok, she didn't play... but will be able to soon) :) They also served cute food - both healthy and regular, and the prices weren't outrageous. - Also noted that it was empty... there was only one other family there - on a Sunday afternoon. We highly recommend, and will definitely be bringing them back. :) NOTE: They do require the kids AND adults to wear grippy socks, so bring some or you will need to buy some. - It's NOT optional for the adults. read more

This business demonstrated discriminatory treatment toward a special-needs individual. I've visited Lagoon Play Café in the Eugene/Springfield area multiple times over the past several months and recently even purchased a membership. During every visit, we've consistently supported the business by purchasing food and following all expectations. Today's experience, however, was extremely disappointing and concerning. I visited with my 14-year-old brother, who has special needs. While he is 14 chronologically, he functions at a much younger developmental level and has always played safely, appropriately, and kindly with other children during our many prior visits. We have been here at least six times since he turned 14, and his age has never once been raised as an issue before. Upon arrival, we were met with an unfriendly greeting, followed by confusion locating our membership despite providing our name multiple times. Once found, we were suddenly told that due to his age, he should not be allowed to play. This was surprising and upsetting given that this policy had never been enforced during any of our previous visits. I have also personally observed older children using the play area without issue. After I explained our situation--including the fact that we had driven over 30 minutes and that my brother was excited to be there--we were told we could "play today," only for the staff member to hesitate again, question minor details like grip socks (which we had), and then state she needed to get a supervisor due to uncertainty about charging. At no point was cost the issue--we were more than willing to pay. The inconsistency and reluctance to allow entry, despite initially saying yes, created an uncomfortable and unwelcoming experience. What is most upsetting is not the existence of a rule, but the inconsistent enforcement of it. If there is a firm age policy, it should be clearly communicated and applied consistently to all guests. Selectively enforcing it--especially in a situation involving a special-needs individual who has previously been welcomed without issue--felt deeply unfair and lacking empathy. The people of Oregon, and especially the Eugene/Springfield community, have consistently been kind, inclusive, and welcoming in our experience--which is why this situation stood out so strongly. My brother left confused and disappointed after looking forward to this visit. I hope the business takes this feedback seriously and works toward clearer policies, better staff training, and a more inclusive approach moving forward. read more

Very dirty place - furniture is disgusting. Tables aren't wiped down. Ordered pizza and it was way overpriced. The place was so dirty I was nervous to eat food there. Staff was friendly just not very active in care of place. It just seems like it was opened and then left to care for itself basically sad because it could be a really nice place if upkeep was different ??? I probably will not be back. Would like to start off saying this place is very cute! Kids were really enjoying themselves. We brought my nephew here for his 1st birthday he loved the sand and water area. Cleanliness was a factor...I saw many kids putting balls and all other toys in their mouth (my nephew included) and really no one on the floor monitoring or cleaning anything. Clean, many activities, and affordable fun! Every detail is so cute and thought out. My kids had a great time. Coffees from their cafe were good too, app was easy enough to order thru. There's a infant area and the rest of the play areas seems ideal for kids 2-8 Socks are $3 or bring your own grip socks. Since we're walking distance the only downside-stroller parking. There's enough for maybe 1-2 strollers, and there wasn't much help trying to figure out a solution for our stroller. read more

Walked into Lagoon Playcafe and was greeted by a a younger brunette girl who right as we walked in at 6:00 informed us they close at 9:00 and that the cafe portion is closed till then.. this was a little disappointing because we hyped up our kids to get a treat.. we went ahead paid the fee and took them back. After about 45 minutes we noticed people getting food and ordering.. and the same girl that informed us that the cafe was closed was now serving them.. when asked about if they were still serving food until 7:00...she seemed to stumble over her words and said yeah we're still serving.. it felt really strange as if everyone else in the cafe could order food except for our family.. even a family that showed up after us got food.. just seems odd. Not even counting that experience we decided to leave early after a woman decided to take a pictures of a baby that wasn't hers. We told the staff and left immediately after. This was our first time at lagoon cafe and the last time..I would say in general there are better options to choose from in town like the adventure children's museum or the play space cafe. We were being discriminated against and that's pretty crazy in a business built around children. It seems in general you train your employees to worry more about the liability waivers to protect yourself from a lawsuit than actually protecting the children that patronize the establishment with their parents. My kiddos had a blast. It's a brand new business and I'm so glad we have some more kids indoor activities that cater especially the smaller ones. Sure it has some hiccups but that's to expect from a new established business. They're on the right path. FYI: someone put all their heart and effort into this. Watch your kids not trashing the equipment. I see so many things already ripped or picked on. We went there today with very little people there. 90 percent of the parents I saw were on their phones the ENTIRE time! And meanwhile their kids picking the foam walls, ripping glued edges, aggressively ripping on equipment. Came here on a rainy day. Got here 15 minutes after opening and it was not busy at all. There are slides, tunnels, and little obstacles to climb on. There is a fun water and sand area. A ball pit area and even a dedicated baby area. The place is decorated very cute. Bathrooms are clearly marked and easy to find. The decor is very cute. The play equipment looked and felt clean. Do need to have grip socks. Lots of places to sit for adults and still have good view if where your kid is playing read more

This is a great place to bring your young kiddos for indoor play. Especially on rainy days. However, they don't allow balloons or birthday cakes, so don't plan on that! The climbing structures have netting the kids have to crawl through in oder to get to the slides. Our little one was scared of the netting and it created challenges. They have a room with water features, and a room with sand. They ask that the two not be mixed, but they are right next to one another, so it seems to happen. They have this one feature that sucks up plastic balls, and then they go down a bumper-type area, and when they drop out a musical note is played. Our little one really liked that toy, but kept bumping her head on the edge when she was picking up the balls. I wonder if they could put a pool noodle or foam on it to make it hurt less? I kept my hand over it after the first time, but not everyone is going to think of that. It's still a good value at $12 per child. Everyone has to wear the special socks (yes, even parents), so bring your Defy socks when you come, or be prepared to pay $3 per pair. read more

My son loves this place and its always a great couple hours of fun while there. I have to limit to two hours because that's the limit for street parking. The ball shooters have been not working most of the time. Honestly, for food, I expected high price and poor quality, but the prices were reasonable and the quality was pretty good. The entire process from the moment I called to enquire about parties with the main office line was frustrating. I had questions about the party and most specifically the princess makeover/and dresses. They quickly responded that they didn't know the answer and that the party planner would be the right person to ask. Based on the online information, I was under the impression I would be chatting with the party planner and making sure all my concerns and questions were answered. However, my first contact from "the party planner" was a generic email (no phone number) that told me they would be in contact soon regarding the party. I received this email on Tuesday (1/13/26) with the party being on Sunday (1/18/26). The next contact I received was another generic email on Friday (1/16/26) that at least provided a phone number. I called the number and left a voicemail. I called the main office line again and I was at this point stressing my questions and concerns with the party being 2 days away. It was very disappointing to request that I be called due to questions and concerns on the party request form, call and leave a voicemail requesting a callback to address these concerns, and call the front desk desperate to reach the party planner as I was told she was the only one that could answer my questions and not hear anything within 2 days of the party. I was finally contacted by phone on Saturday (1/17/26) one day before the party. Knowing I couldn't get a refund for my deposit and honestly, less than 24 hours to figure out another option, I reluctantly continued with the process. Yes, my questions were answered finally, but the whole process up to this point had me stressed out. Then came the day of the party. Now, maybe we weren't taken seriously as we were a tiny group (5 total), but I would hope that doesn't matter. I still paid for the full experience! The front desk person was nice, but very unhelpful and ultimately made the company look bad right off the start. I came in and explained who we were and that I had questions about the makeover; specifically what the largest size was. She informed me that she didn't know what the sizes were and that we could go look through the dresses. No offer to help us look or guide us. No follow up when seeing us struggle to locate the bigger sized clothing from the bins on your floor. I was later informed by the party coordinator that she requested they let her know when we arrived so she could assist with that aspect as I had made them aware it was a concern. While I know the front desk did talk with someone asking several questions, at no time did anyone actually come to assist us. Regarding the questions she asked, it was further frustrating that she didn't know what all was included in the makeover package or when I should pay for it. She ended up forgetting that a jewelry bag and wand was included in the package and it wasn't until I asked our coordinator about it that we got it. The party room was nice, clean (minus a door to the kitchen being left open) and the decorations were nice. However, we were left standing in there (not entirely sure we were in the right room since we had never been there before) waiting for someone/anyone that represented the company to confirm we were in the right place. Thankfully, our coordinator showed up after a few minutes and assured us we were in the right place and began explaining a few things to us. Cameron, I believe, her name was. She was very nice and friendly! I do appreciate her help and understanding. Unfortunately, even with her around the party was still quite disappointing. We paid for the treasure hunt and began it, but our first clue led us to the front desk. After looking around and seeing no clue similar to the codes. I asked if I was missing something. The front desk person simply said "I don't know anything about the treasure hunt. I didn't know we were doing one today." That was rather discouraging but we continued on to clue two. This led us to the dolphin swings where again there was no clear symbol. At this point my kids were frustrated and bored with the hunt so we gave up. I informed Cameron of the situation and she offered to just open the chest which was fine. I ordered pizza and was told to have it sent to the party room or table 11, but at no point did I see that as an option when ordering so I once again spent a good 10-15 minutes stressing whether we would get the pizza or where it would go. Thankfully we did receive it in the room. It was placed in a glass warmer (great) until I tried to bring it to the table for serving and it was hot to the touch with nothing available to safely handle it. We also ordered a cake. The cake was beautiful and tasted good. However, it was left with no serving utensils. I found that odd considering Cameron offered candles and matches, but I declined. I wanted so very much to like this cafe but it just fell short. The play is not toddler friendly, there is a baby area for up to 18 months but nothing for a toddler 18 months to about 4 years. I can't take my toddler though any of the climbing equipment as adults are not allowed and using QR codes for food/drinks is just not the way to go. They do not offer grippy socks for toddlers either which I thought was strange. Good for ages 4 and up but not for babies. read more

The one thing that bugged me the most was that when I went to buy food someone else's card was on it. The staff stated they did not care that I should just use the QR code. I guess they don't care that there ordering system doesn't work and it's okay to use someone else's card. Hope you keep tabs on what you buy. Disappointed is an understatement. I would love to bring my kids to this place it reminds me of ALL THAT when I was a kid. I will most definitely take the lovely customer service else where. I also don't appreciate someone taking things from my children well they think I'm not paying attention and they are a fulling grown adult. There staff followed my boys around for just being two year olds. They also harassed my 5 nephew and 7 year old niece for being children. When they realized they couldn't touch the children in my care as they pleased. They resorted to continually talking over the speak system. read more
