I had an appointment with him for a prolia injection after using this for several months all of a sudden it didn't come in so my appointment was rescheduled. 15 minutes before my appointment I get a phone call from the office saying he would no longer be seeing me. I was not given a reason or a referral to someone else. I realize this is his prerogative but he could have at least given me the last injection and told me in person. It took me a long time to do this but now that I've done it I'm glad as maybe this has happened to other patients. I just feel this is not professional and his front office staff are not very patient friendly.

This is not a problem normally but when he ordered her injection medication to his office to be administered there it was impossible to get in when it was due (previously she was administering then herself). It has now been 4 months since it was due her joints have all swollen and the insurance won't allow a new prescription because of it being at his office. She was so young I just thought maybe growing pains? Maybe we needed to buy better shoes? Nowhere in my mind did I think something was really wrong. In the 4th grade we knew we needed to see someone and went to a Pediatrician in Bakersfield. Right away she saw there were multiple joints swollen and that we definitely had to get her to a specialist at Children Hospital Madera. Within a very short time they got us in and we were making the trip up to see Dr. Arce. From the moment we met him we felt at ease. He instantly started talking directly to our daughter, he was gentle, compassionate and really listened to everything she said. He saw pitting in her nails and multiple joints with redness and swelling. He ordered multiple test right away, and quickly she was diagnosed with Psoriatic arthritis and fibromyalgia. I would have never thought my 4th grade daughter would Have RA. This began our 8 year relationship with Dr. Arce. We made trips to Madera every couple months and we never complained. We all loved him and he helped her so much. I will never forget when he had the talk with us about finding a Rheumatologist in Bakersfield. She was going to be 18 and he is a Pediatrician. We all were so sad and I actually cried the last time we saw him. He helped my daughter so much. I know he is working out of a clinic in Reedly now, I think he still might see kids at Childrens. Just recently my daughter said she wanted to write him a letter, she is now 21. She wants to thank him for all he did for her. Unfortunately she never found a Doctor that measured up to Dr. Arce. We did see supposedly see the best in Bakersfield, he is in the room for a minute, you can't get an appointment and he doesn't listen to what you are saying. So Dr. Arce if you read this, you are amazing! We thank you for the incredible care you gave our daughter and we will never forget you.

The absentee doctors leave most office visits to their nurse practitioners, who also have a rapid turnover rate - I never saw the same one twice. Waiting room looks more like a free clinic than a private practice in a very nice part of town. Overall, my experience here was abysmal.

On my report she said chronic use. It's the first quality of life I've had for 20 years. She was very rushed and the physical exam took less than 5 minutes. She would ask questions but would interrupt before I finished the answer. Constantly interrupting. So I spoke up but not yelling as she said in my permanent medical record. She refused to give anything but a decreasing dose which will not get me to surgery in July. There are so many errors in her findings. Said my temp was normal, it wasn't taken. Said my knees were cool with no inflammation, they are hot, tight, and full of fluid. Said I didn't have rheumatoid arthritis in my hand, kaiser diagnosed it years ago. Said I had been smoking for 50 years, try 16! Where 50 came from i can't even imagine. Said negative to numbness, fingers go numb. Says neck supple, it cracks and pops like crazy. Claims i walked out yelling at her... I did walk out, shaking my head saying that this was ridiculous. Before I left I started to say that I'm 67 and can't see living past 70 in this amount of pain. All that got out of my mouth was Im 67 years old..she interrupted again saying "I'm 65" i told her she looked great. Thinking to myself, this is not about you. So my last words to her were a compliment and I sure as hell didn't yell it!
