Dr. Megna will be my chiropractor for as long as possible! I have seen a great many chiropractors for over twenty years. Each time I have less pain for a day or so. This has always been the manual adjustment type of therapy and it usually hurts just to be adjusted since so much force is used on my body. Dr. Megna uses new technology that uses no force at all. It is the Impulse IQ and at first I thought it wouldn't help me at all. I came into his office limping and having trouble just walking. I left the office with some relief and was grateful for that. This review is long overdue. The reason for it taking so long is simply because Dr. Megna has a magical way of making your pain go away. And it's gone so quickly that you forget you ever had it. I hobbled in with such extreme back pain I couldn't lift my purse. I'm 30 and a veteran of back pain, so it takes someone fantastic and qualified, such as Dr. Megna, to keep me coming back. I have him on speed dial. I've recommended him to others and their experience has been identical. He works on shoulders, knees, etc. He is very fairly priced and very very worth it. Your first consultation is an hour, but only because he wants to fully understand your injury, sprain, strain, etc. The actual adjustment is only 10 minutes and it's not completely comfortable, but definitely not painful. I have experienced mixed results with many different chiropractors over my 20 years as a competitive athlete. I also suffer from minor scoliosis and a job where I am on my feet for 30-40 hours a week working quite hard. I have been going to Doctor Joseph T. Megna on-and-off for the last 25 years, as he moved to Chico for a while and I moved to Sacramento for a while. In the interim, I have utilized other very wonderful Chiropractors as needed. Doctor Megna initially treated me for a car accident injury 25 years ago. He had a huge business located near Walmart on Lincoln Avenue, and gave all customers prime treatment, as we got to relax on a back massager for 15 minutes and then got full body adjustment. I had a prolonged problem with my neck that only he could fix, as he had specialized equipment that noone else in Napa had at the time. I was forever grateful that Doctor Megna was able to successfully relieve this neck problem. Doctor Megna was clearly the Cream-of-the Crop, and did his best to offer the best treatments available. After Doctor Megna moved to Chico, I started to go to an excellent Gonstead Chiropractor who only treated the inflammed areas. Then, I moved to Sacramento for 8 years and went to a wonderful Chiropracter in Rocklin. After we moved back from Sacramento, my back was acting up, and I took some Ortho Surgeon prescribed Celebrex which totally torched my stomach and threw me into terrible inflammation and contractions. I tried to go to the Gonstead Chiropracter, but his telephone recorder said that he would not be available for a few days. I remembered hearing that Doctor Megna was back in town, and I remembered his excellent care. My Husband had never been to a Chiropractor and had the preconceived Medical Community-induced stereotypical ideas of what Chiropractors did, (i.e., Quack, Dishonest Money Grabber, Snake Oil, etc.). I assured my husband, that my Chiropractors had Utmost Integrity, especially Doctor Megna, as he only wanted what was best for his patients. My inflammation was so bad, that my Husband had to drive me to Doctor Megna's Appointments because the inflammation and contractions were so bad that it initially took me 15 minutes to be able to lay on the Chiropractic Table. Currently, Doctor Megna mostly uses an Electric Precisely Calibrated Adjustment Tool rather than Manual Chiropractic adjustments which made it much easier for me being in such bad shape. I am so glad that I made it back to Doctor Megna's care, as I really needed the Whole Body treatment, versus the Gonstead technique for all the problems that I was experiencing. Doctor Megna gave me very useful information and instructions for aftercare. Within a month, my Husband became a believer of Chiropractic after observing and trusting the Genuine Professional Care that Doctor Megna had given me and seeing my radical improvement. To my surprise, Doctor Megna agreed to work on my Husband after seeing his reports and x-rays of his back. My Husband's delicate back situation immediately responded to his first adjustment with Dr. Megna as well! Doctor Megna also suggested that I utilize his Custom-Molded Foot Orthotics in order to help correct my extremely flat feet which were causing my hips and back to misalign much faster than usual. He found that I was off by 5 which was causing me considerable problems and could never be corrected by Store-Bought varieties of Footbeds. I cannot wait to get delivery of the new Custom-Molded Orthotics so I can begin to have my body shifted correctly and so that I will not need near as many Chiropractic Adjustments since my back will not be thrown out as much. The worst! The lawyer i was working with told me to go to him. He got aggressive when I couldn't go as many times as he wanted me to go and kept saying I wouldn't get any money for my case. Well, it turns out that he billed A LOT for each session, which consisted of him talking instead of actually fixing me. Now, after my case wrapped up, I know WHY he would get aggressive and say what he said. Please do not waste your time with him! You only get a certain amount of money, and he will take more than half of that! Do not believe him when he says to keep going back 2-3xs a week! In my opinion, speak to your lawyer before you keep going back to him to find out what he says is his "insurance" rate! read more

I've been seeing chiropractors off and on since I was 16, and this was the first time a dr has been able to get rid of it the first time. DO NOT TRUST THIS GUY. I've never been in so much pain as I was after 4 visits with Dr. Megna. On my 3rd visit I was completely debilitated immediately upon standing up from the table. My lower back was so locked up that I couldn't straighten to stand up and walking was excruciating. The only thing he said was "walk around the block and then come back." I did so (painfully) and when I returned he still had nothing for me except to send me home in pain. The pain continued until the next morning. When I returned for my 3rd visit I experienced the same result. I've had to find another Dr. To fix what he did to my back. To top it off, when I sent Dr. Megna a polite written request for a refund of the remaining funds on my account, he shorted me. Claiming I was in violation of the 24 hour cancellation agreement. He did not fix anything, nor do the "heavy lifting," and it's laughable (insulting really) that he tried to suggest he did. Please do not go to this man. After driving to Oregon and back, which is not a good idea I started having some back pain. The second day I couldn't walk without help from my walking stick & my wife's shoulder. I knew I needed help. I have never been to a Chiropractor in Napa before so I went to Yelp to find one. After reviewing them I called the one that seemed right for me. Dr. Magna answered the phone and set an appointment that morning. You've seen the ad of a person going into the office barley walking and coming out like new again, well that's not quite what happened. The first visit I was able to walk with the stick and had a good nights sleep the next day's visit I was able to come home and walk without the stick and little back pain.
