Not at all a good place to work. They actively try to replace employees to keep paying them less. They will actively set people up for failure; we got a new store director and direct manager, and I watched as they forced a co-worker out of her position after she worked it with no problem for 10 years straight. I wish I could give 100 stars! On 7/24/2025 I placed an order for a LARGE number (300 pounds) of frozen mixed vegetables. Because I wasn't sure the order would be fulfilled, I called the Alma, MI store to confirm the order. I spoke with Kate, the store director at that time. KATE GAVE EXCELLENT SERVICE! She found that the store would not be able to fulfill the order as I had placed it. After discussion, she agreed to make up an order of combined packages of different sized mixed vegetables, even including separate veggies, to equal 300 pounds total. Not only did Kate understand my needs, but she went above and beyond by searching out and preparing for sale these various packages of vegetables. My plan was to pick up the order at 8 am 7/25/2025. Because Kate would not be in until 9 am, she carefully wrote instructions for Natasha, who would be working the service desk at the time the order was picked up. My brother actually picked up the order. He was very impressed! The large order was already boxed, loaded in grocery carts, and ready to go when he arrived at the store. The sale was easily completed; the entire pickup took only about 2 minutes! The service at Alma Meijer, especially by Kate, Natasha, and any others who helped with this order, was absolutely amazing! Glad Meijer came to the Alma area. Walmart was not always the best at offering stuff and had a monopoly. Meijer made it more reasonable and affordable. Highly recommended. Love the chain. Prefer Meijer over Walmart in the area. read more

I really love these chains of stores. They are alway bright, cleaning, and the staff is very friendly. Even the gas station area is clean and well lite. Prices are on par with other chains and they many more Michigan brand products. read more

Be ye warned: It's illegal to refund alcohol in Michigan. I spent $17 on a case of Great Lakes Brewing beer for a get-together. Four of us opened our beers and couldn't finish them because they were skunky and undrinkable, almost like they had warmed and were then re-cooled, or had been shaken up. They could do nothing for me, not even give me a replacement case that wasn't gross. Since it's state law to not allow refunds, perhaps they should be more careful about the quality of product they put on the shelves. read more
