I slash my food bill by half with this store alone. Some of the products we enjoy more than their more popular counterparts. Most everything we bought at the other grocery stores, we can find here. For less. If your not familiar with Aldi, bring a quarter with you to lease a shopping cart. It sounds silly, but, we as a society are so cheap that we'll return the cart just to get the quarterback. This location NEVER has idle shopping carts roaming around the parking lot, ramming into your car. Pretty smart. The ambiance is just as great as the more popular chains. You need to bring your own bags/boxes or purchase them for a small pittance. Personally, I think it's silly, but it contributes to the company saving and hopefully passing it along to its customers! 11/23

Any kind of meat and cheese you would want are available for fresh-made-as-you-order sandwiches on freshly baked bread. They also have burgers and brauts. There is a side refrigerator filled with premade sandwiches, sliced meats, deviled eggs and pickled bologna if you're in a rush. Employees are super friendly and prices are reasonable.

There's no seating inside, but there are two small tables outside. We've always loved the pizza and pastas from here, however they are quite pricey. We've been probably over ten times, but on this last visit, the veggies we got weren't good still. The staff has also never been very friendly. However, we will keep going for the pizzas and quick, grab items!

We recently spent some time on Lake Walloon and visited Barrel Back Restaurant and this General Store, as well as the park nextdoor. This place now offers breakfast, lunch, dinner, grocery items, Michigan brands, apparel, houseware stuff, and so much more. The staff is friendly and the store is huge and beautiful! Prices are reasonable too... On our recent visits, we purchased some beverages, sandwiches and Better Made chips too. (While in Michigan, amiright?!) This summer they expanded opening a brand new wine/liquor "wing," now called the Harbor Springs Cellars and have a HUGE wine selection and quite extensive array of spirits, frequently offering tastings with a very knowledgeable sommelier. They also have a walk-in cooler with a nice selection of craft beers. A decent deli & meat counter & small selection of staples. The star of the place, however, has gotta be their hot food offerings mid-day. Local workers line up to grab hot lunch from a incredibly varied daily selection plus sandwiches and other cold offerings. It seems like every hot item from mac 'n cheese to General Tzao's chicken is tasty. The only reason for 4 rather than 5 stars is that their produce, canned goods, chips, etc. prices are really quite high, so you definitely pay for the convenience. Plan ahead and grab your stock-up items at D&W or Olesen's or head down to Meijer in Petoskey. But for the rest, you cannot beat this IGA.
