While Lazy Daisy was good, there is not much more at the mall that interested me. While waited for our table at Lazy Daisy, we walked around the shopping center. There was a second hand store for arts and crafts projects which was cool but there doesn't seem to be much else going on at the mall. Still, there must be some stores worth checking out because the parking lot was nearly full.

There are several categories of businesses: Health & Wellness, Retail Shopping, Restaurants, Business offices, & Community Services. I was very surprised when I realized how many business was here in the shopping center. The even have some empty spaces that are available to lease to start a business in. Very happy to see that they are still operating.

Basically this is an okay mall in Champaign. It gets many college students hanging around it…read more Market Place isn't a fancy place. Has the basic mall stores like Dick's and Macy's. There's also a food court with the basic bland food choices you typically find in a mall like this. A lot of parking is available. It may be the best thing you can say about it. The best thing actually inside the mall is it's not crowded, which also can be a bad thing. For sure it's not cool like the Chicago malls, but this does it for around here. There's anchor stores plus a few others like Old Navy and the usual. Has a pretty big food court. The food there mostly sucks but there's lots to choose from including Chinese and Mexican. Good place to go shop and walk around in. It has a children's area including a carousel so it has something to entertain them. The mall isn't that good but for around here it's about the only mall so whatever.

We walked around almost the entire shopping center. We saw the carousel in the food court. Then we did some Christmas shopping at Macy's. It's usually brimming with cool knickknacks, wall decor items, lamps, the odd accent chairs and ornament tables thrown in for good measure. There's so much beauty to behold here. It's like a poor man's art gallery. Or an Ikea on a more manageable level. And the best thing about TJ Maxx: prices aren't exorbitant. Which's just as well considering the fact that it's a discount retailer. I can totally see myself decorating our apartment with stuff bought from TJ Maxx if I had a ton of money. As things currently stand, I'm just content browsing through the aisles, oohing and aahing at all the lovely stuff from a distance!

It was 11:30 on a Friday morning, and I was later told by an employee that no security were even in the store yet! The manager emerged from her office looking bewildered. The staff were extremely disorganized in figuring out how to handle this. Not very confidence inspiring! I now drive to the Bloomington or Decatur TJMAXX, although this type of incident seems to happen anywhere these days. Just relieved that no guns were displayed.

Wow, what a breath of fresh air to shop in a Ross with so many women's sizes and such a varied…read morecollection of clothes! I have visited this Ross twice in the past 3 days and have happily walked away with 3 new shirts, a skirt, some pajama pants, and several other items. This location of Ross is also much neater than most other locations with clothes hung in the correct sizing section, for the most part. The only confusing area was the shoes where the sizes seemed to overlap one another & not be located in the correct area between sizes 9-10. With the prices at Ross, combined with the vast selection of items, it's most likely that I will return to this location the next time I'm in Illinois.
