There's plenty of outdoor seating with a small, sandy playground nearby. Decently priced meals start at 8€. Adult sized entrees are big enough for the heartiest appetites. I'm talking HUGE plates filled with food. Hubs got the Schnitzel which came with pommes frites and salat. Well seasoned fries.. Salat had a nice dressing and a side of potato salat in there. Schnitzel was perfectly thin and crusted well. The highlight was my cordon bleu. The cheese and bacon in my chicken was moist. I do wish the cheese was more evenly dispersed. Flavor was en pointe! It too came with salat and pommes frites. My friend got the salat with smoked salmon and pork...Great dressing ... Again monstrous portions! I do wish there was more salmon... Then again.. I always wish here was more salmon ;) At the end of the meal, the owner.. maybe manager, came out and made sure we were satisfied and made some light conversation. I think he wanted to practice his English. He's probably the friendliest guy I've ever met at a biergarten. At the end of the meal, he was kind enough to give us some pear schnapps on the house! How generous?! It's worth it to come back here for the kindness alone. With plenty of parking and a nice forest behind it, I can't imagine a better place to spend a Sunday afternoon. Next time, we'll come back for their pies for dessert. Holy cow... They looked amazing! We were just so full from their mountains of food, that we just didn't have the space. Lesson learned... Share entrees and get me some pie next time!

Fortunately the meals are much better than my recall of their German names. The woman serving us…read morewas equally as fabulous as the meal. The salad had potatoes that were soaked in a vinegar and oIl based dressing. I am positive that my description does a huge disservice. I had three filet dinner with chicken, lamb and beef. All tender and tasty! They were joined by a pasta with a delicious gravy. All was topped off fried apple rings and vanilla ice cream. When in Stuttgart Germany I highly recommend this restaurant.

Staffele is a cute little place tucked back into the side streets in the seam between the Mitte, Sud, and West neighborhoods, a quick walk from Feuersee. The inside is old-school dark and pub-like, but outside they have a small (covered) beer garden with a handful of tables. You are right in the city, but tucked into a tiny side-street, so it's still nicely quiet. We found the service to be okay, but even more business-like than our other meals of the week. As far as the food went, the jaegerschnitzel was good, and the maultaschen with eggs was one of my favorite dishes of the trip. Usually maultaschen seems to be served as a giant meat-filled ravioli with a cream sauce or broth, but here they serve it chopped into bite-sized pieces, pan-fried with eggs, and without sauce (vaguely like fried-rice, but with meat ravioli). It was a nice change of pace and a tasty choice. If I find myself in the area again, I'll stop by and try some more of the menu out...
