Great stay. Sue goes to many lengths to make you feel welcome and cooks a mean breakfast. Hope to visit again.

This was the first time staying at a motel in Sydney, but it came with a mini-fridge, hot water kettle, toaster, microwave and serving ware for two. On check-in with the friendly Aussie reception, we received a pint a of milk for our tea. Free milk? Even if we are out in the mountains, this is a civilized place ;) Oh and the hot breakfast was amazing. Motels in the States are quite different, but to be fair, the room prices were much closer to a lower end hotel. Make sure to ask about WiFi password, and how to turn on the electric blanket before reception closes. It was unseasonable chilly, and were too lazy to figure out night reception, but luckily we got the radiator to work. FYI, the phone didn't connect to anything, but we (typical Americans) had a good laugh at the STD line sign. Turns out STD stands for the state run telephone service. Definitely recommended!

This is concerning the restaurant. Additionally, this review is all about the service…read more We went here as part of a tour group of 20. Our orders were taken ahead of time and called ahead by our tour guide. First, let me say, we found the food quite tasty. I had the vegetarian burger with eggplant and chipotle sauce. It was flavorful, well seasoned, and accompanied by perfect hot chips. My husband also enjoyed his grilled fish and chips with tartare sauce. Despite being in a remote mountain town, it was as food or better than anything we had eaten in Sydney. The restaurant itself was quaint and cozy and had beautiful views of the Blue Mountains. But then there was the service. And that's where the three stars come in. It would have been five stars otherwise. One member of our tour group changed their order. Then there was a simple to fix mix up between my order and the order of another group member. The staff member (unsure if he was a server or kitchen manager or what) LOUDLY proclaimed what a pain tour groups are and how ridiculous we all were. He then stomped off. And when he returned, he was extremely RUDE to the group leader. These tour groups must bring hundreds of dollars to this small town restaurant. They bring multiple tours of 20+ people each week. If they don't care about them, I can't imagine this establishment cares about anyone. I don't care how good the food is, I would never return after being treated like trash.

A one bedroom typically rents for about $189 AUD, but we were able to talk them down to $125, which is the cost of a studio. I'm guessing they agreed because it was in the winter, which I'm guessing is their low season. Anyway, it's a great deal for the price we paid. Each apartment comes with a bedroom that either has a portable heater or electric blankets. The bathroom has a hot tub. The spacious living room is heated. We just stayed in 233 after requesting to move from 230 because I'm pretty sure the air con in that room was the same one Noah used on The Ark. The water pressure in the shower is abismal. The room just felt dirty, the bathroom needed an urgent update and our upgrade to a "spa room" really only afforded us a bathtub with some jets that boasted that nice orange mould which just screams "let me blast you with my bubbles" right? The breakfast is really average so having it included in the room price is really no benefit. There are so many lovely cafes in Leura, Blackheath and Katoomba that you're much better off saving your $15 and spending it elsewhere.
