I moved to Maryland nearly 8 months ago from Washington State. We chose Tom Wysokowski out of…read morenearly a dozen other buyer's agents for many reasons. First, he CALLED us back. As a working professional, I found it more than satisfying that someone actually called me. The other agents I tried to contact apparently felt it was sufficient to send me a generic email. Tom not only called me back on first contact, he called me back every time I tried to contact him. If I had to leave a message for him, it wasn't an hour later that I got a call back. Not a call from his assistant or his office either. A call directly from him. This was absolutely outstanding! Now on to the experience. I told Tom what I wanted in a house and where I wanted to live. I told him what my price range was and that I didn't want to hear about any house outside of that range. Tom not only heard what I was saying, he went out of his way to make sure that I only saw homes that matched my criteria. When I arrived in Maryland in January 2014, I met up with Tom a couple weeks later to start looking at houses. While we were looking at my chosen selection, my wife called me with a house that had just hit the market and, even though it wasn't on the list and Tom wasn't prepared to view the home, he made a call and we were able to enter and check it out. Lo and behold, this was the house I ended up buying! I can't thank Tom enough for going the extra mile to show this house when it wasn't on the list. In the months to come, Tom called or emailed me with every detail on the home buying process. He found me an affordable and reliable title company, he kept me updated on where the financing was, he acted as my proxy for all documents that needed to be written, signed, and mailed, and he encouraged me when I became frustrated over tedious requirements from the finance and title companies. He even personally arranged to have the home inspected for me, and when we found the basement demolished, he selflessly sought out the reasons why and the actions taken to correct the issue. Normally I wouldn't think that was such a great thing, but I tried personally to find this information, and all I got was the runaround and a bunch of other agents trying to persuade me to abandon this house and find one with them. Kudos to Tom for his relentlessness on my behalf. I travel a lot in my work. In fact, I'm often out of state all week long, which meant I could only really be present on the weekends for most things. Tom had no issues meeting up with me on a Saturday for most things. This is a rarity in a lot of professions. I can't express how many times I've been told "Sorry, it has to be on a week day or not at all." Tom is the exception. He even offered to physically drive my paperwork to me in the middle of a snow storm when he lived over an hour away. Even though I would never allow someone to do that, I was blown away by the offer. In summary, Tom got it done when no one else was willing to help! He's a stand up guy who actually cared about my family's happiness and comfort, and he refused to let us get ripped off over misinformation.
